I was told my daughter's apple ID was linked to my apple ID, and that limited my availability of free iCloud useage.  Is this possible? How do I check to see if the IDs are linked?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Apple ID's can't be linked, if you are unsure about your ID's, check the link below.

i don't have any experience with DLNA TV's but i recently moved my iTunes library to a NAS. streaming content to airport express remote speakers and TV2 works great. however, i have all my gear hardwired to my time capsule (except the airport express) so i'm not sure how well streaming e.g. HD movies to TV over wifi works.
i have a Synology DiskStation 411j and am very happy with it.

  • HT204053 for ipad2 Using the same Apple ID for Store purchases and iCloud (recommended) yes/

hi i am shahram i have ipad2 for ipad 2 using the same apple iD for store purchases and iCloud(recommended) yes or no?

That's what Apple recommend, it's also how I have mine set up. Although it isn't much of a problem to use a different account (ID) for each service.

  • Does Apple give you a toll free number to call about possible viruses?

Does Apple send toll free numbers to call about possible virus or is it a scam

There are no known viruses for Macs.  There is adware and malware.  For adware, those things that keep poping up in your browser you can use AdwareMedic from thesafemac.com to quickly and easily remove all know adware.
That site also have this Adware Removal Guide if you prefer to do it manually thru the Finder.

  • Hi. I currently have two iPad's and two iPhones and one Apple ID, I want to keep the current Apple ID on one iPad and one phone and set up another Apple ID for the second iPad and iPhone, is this possible?

Hi. I currently have both my iPhone's and iPad's on one Apple ID and I was hoping to use one iPhone and one iPad with another Apple ID, does anyone know if this is possible and how I would do it.
    Thanks TMM39

You should be able to. The only hiccup will be that any apps that you have purchased with the older ID you will have to repurchase with the newer ID to be able to keep using them.
Though of course this actually depends on how you plan to use the IDs. For example, I had an Apple ID through iTunes a few years before I opened a .Mac/MobileMe account (what iCloud is now in case you are new to Apple). Thus, my iPhone and iPad actually have two IDs on them, one for iTunes/App Store, and one for anything associated with iCloud. I've never really had any problems assoctiated with having two IDs on one device. Usually just an extra step when I get a new device or have to restore either of them for some reason. Though I understand that this is probably not what you plan on doing, I thought I would use it as an example of what the IDs are really associted with on the devices.

  • ITunes said my library was linked to another playlist...HELP!

iTunes said my library was linked to another playlist and would I like to replace it with this playlist. I didn't understand, and said yes and now I can't find my library!!! Can I get my original library back??!!! HELP!

Pressing "Yes" when iTunes brings up the dialogue window asking whether you want to replace the songs on your iPod with the songs in iTunes unfortunately does exactly what it says. If you linked to an iTunes with only a few or completely different songs it will have erased your original iPod song list. There are some data recovery programs on the market, here's an example. None of these programs are particularly cheap I'm afraid so you have to decide if it's worth the money in your case: iPod Data Recovery

  • TS4036 I had to create a new Apple ID because the previous ID was linked to my daughters phone. Apple ID setup was successful but now I need to know how to backup all my information and create a new iCloud ID because we're sharing storage space.

Had to create a new AppleId because the old one that I had was linked to my daughters IPhone account now that was successful I'm having trouble setting up a new iCloud account under my new apple ID due to it not transferring.

If you have both already been syncing data to the same account and now have merged data, you would have to set up a new account with your new ID, migrate a copy of the data to the new account, then eliminate your daughter's data from your account and vice versa.
To do this, on the phone that will be changing accounts go to Settings>iCloud and turn all data that is syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off.  When prompted choose to keep the data on the iPhone.  After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  The other phone will not be effected by this.)  Next, set up the new iCloud account on this phone using the other Apple ID and turn iCloud syncing for for contacts, etc. back to On.  When prompted, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to this new account.  At this point you will have two different iCloud accounts, one for each phone, with identical data on them.
You will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the unwanted data (such as deleting your daughter's contacts from your account, and vice versa).  These changes will be reflected on each phone.  When finished you will have individual iCloud accounts with just your own data on them.

  • My iphone was stolen, I was told by an apple employee  in canada that sometimes their customers discounts on the next purchase is this true?

My iphone was stolen, I was told by an apple employee in canada that sometimes their customers get discounts on the next purchase is this true?

Not from Apple, but if your carrier subsidizes the cost of the iPhone and you are eligible for an upgrade price with a new phone.

  • I was told by the Apple store to create multiple user ids to control the content on my iphone. I did that and now I cannot find my original library with all of my playlists

I was told by the Apple store to create separate user ids on my windows computer to create a new library to control the content on my iphone. I held down shift and clicked i tunes and created the library. I was told you can switch back and forth. I cannot find the old library and all of my playlists. Apple really needs a better way for families to manage their libraries and devices. This is such a pain in the butt!

No, as I stated in the post this is the first issue we've had with the phone. No, this was not a replacement phone, this is the same phone I bought from the apple store in December and had not been serviced by anyone, it did not have any issues until last week.

  • I was told at the Apple store that Apple was now offering Pages, numbers and keynote free with the Mavericks download.  I noticed that I got the free when I downloaded the newest operating system on my iPad.  True?  And if so, how do you do it?

I was told at the Apple Store when Mavericks was introduced that Pages, Numbers and Keynote would be offered at no charge with Mavericks.  When I downloaded Mavericks, I could not figure out how to download them without the charges.  When I downloaded the most recent OS to my iPad, I got a prompt to download them.  Can someone tell me how to download them without the charges?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
It's not correct at all. It is true that Apple is offering Numbers, Keynote and Pages for free, but only for users who have purchased a Mac after October 1st, 2013, and for existing iWork '09 users. If you have not got iWork '09 and you purchased your Mac before October 1st, you need to pay for these apps.
The new iWork version (Numbers, Keynote and Pages) is criticised by its lack of features. Instead, I recommend you to get LibreOffice or, if you need the most complete productivity suite, Office for Mac. Give LibreOffice a try first

  • HT204053 I have iTunes ID and Apple ID. Having problems! Can't consolidate into one?

I have read many support postings on this, but none help! Gaaaa!
I have my iTunes/AppStore ID pointed to my Yahoo email.
I later set up an iCloud email account (of course with "@iCloud.com" domain).
When I try to access iCloud email, I get a prompt to set up my iCloud account
on this iPad. I already have it set up! What the heck?
I assume it might be confused because I have two "accounts", but I really have no idea.
Theu are separate functionally and by name.
So I tried to change my ITunes account (used to purchase apps) to use my iCloud email addy.
Apple says I can't use it, because it's an account owned by Apple.
What in the frog is wrong with using an Apple-owned account? That seems best to me.
But I'm afraid that I would lose access to my purchased apps, even tho AppStore should know
(or be notified) that I have just renamed my account, not transferred it to a different device, etc.
I'll bet others have similar problems, but haven't been able to find out how they have solved theirs.
(I also lost six months of Notes a while back, perhaps related to this problem.)

TThanks, randers4, for helping me out.
(I'm re typing this because in switching back and forth between apps
I lost all 8 paragraphs that I typed earlier. And I'm getting
ttwo capital letters at beginning of sentences. Odd.)
I tried your steps, and they worked. Cool. But why hide this functionality?!
Like so many features in iOS, it's not apparent to most users.
I used to write tech docs for HP, so I do understand the RTFM concept. Ha!
THe initial problem arose when I tried to copy some photos
from iPad to OneDrive and Google Drive.
I tried to select multiple files, and then Copy to a diff cloud drive. No dice.
Only options were to Mail, Copy, Print, AirDrop, etc. But no choices for other cloud drives
appeared there, like I expected. (I thought they were there in the past.)
SO I read support forums, and one said to use Cloud Opener. It worked, but
it is so convoluted (in my mind). In Windows, I just multi-select files and
DRag+Drop them where I like. Simple.
AM I missing something, like some metaphor of the OS, that would be
    really helpful?
ANd back to an original question--can I merge my iTunes login (Yahoo username) with my
APple ID (iCloud username)?? I want just one password to remember, and change, but
I fear losing all my apps. And I couldn't make the change to an iCloud email addr
because iOS said it couldn't be an Apple-related domain. This seems so arbitrary.
    HElp, please?
oh, and iOS asked me to login again, even tho I already was.
