HT204380 If someone facetimes me, will it ring both my iphone and my ipod?
I have an iPhone 4, and just got an iPod touch; if I get a facetime call, will it ring both of the devices? Is there a way to default it so they only go to my phone?

If you use the same mail for FaceTime, they'll ring. Go to Settings > FaceTime and check if you've the same emails on the iPhone and iPod. If not, only one of them will ring

Someone has used findmyiphone to erase both my iPhone and iPad.
Yesterday both my iPhone 4 and i pad mini were automatically erased (NOT by me!) within a minute of each other.
When i went on line I had two message from Apple saying that findmyiphone had done this.(One message about the phone, one about the i pad)
There was also an email saying that my apple password had been changed.
I contacted apple support and was able to change my password (and my email password)
I just turned on my i pod - and it asked for my apple password - but I don't know why it would ask that - it doesn't usually...
looks like I have been hacked - but not sure where to go from here - or what else the hackers intend to do?
Has anyone else suffered this and what happened?Someone has hacked your Apple ID, and used it to erase your devices. (Or, perhaps, someone who knows you and knows your Apple ID password used this to access your account and erase your devices.)
An iOS 7 device that has been erased in this manner cannot be restored without providing the password for the Apple ID used to erase it. This is an anti-theft feature, and not even Apple can bypass it for you. You must be able to access your Apple ID, or you will be locked out of the device permanently, and this makes it extremely important to protect your Apple ID!
Sounds like you have changed your Apple ID password, which is good. You should also change the password for the e-mail account that was associated with the Apple ID, as well as the password for the account currently associated with the Apple ID (just to be safe). Do not use the same password for any of these accounts. If you used the your old Apple ID password for any other online accounts, change those passwords as well.
In addition, change your Apple ID security questions, to be sure the hacker cannot get back in by resetting the password.
Finally, you should seriously consider enabling two-factor authentication on your Apple ID, which makes it nearly impossible for an attacker to manage to take away access to your Apple ID permanently, if it ever gets hacked again. -

I'm trying to make a ring to for iPhone and about 20 sec into the playing of the song it fades out and goes silent. What am I doing wrong? Thanks
Im not sure what garage band is, but i can tell you the way apple recommends making ringtones. Highlight a song in iTunes, right click and select get info. Goto the options tab and youll see the time lengths (write down the ending time) for the start time type in where you want the ringtone to start, ringtones can only be 30 sec long so make the ending time 30 sec later. Exit it out of the info and while song highlighted goto the "advanced" tab at the top of iTunes where you will see an option that says "create aac version". after creating the aac version you will have a duplicate song in your iTunes, change the original back to the correct time length. Take the 30 sec aac version and drag it to your desktop, right click the icon and click "preferences" You will then be able to change the name of the file which will be somethign to the effect of "songnamehere.m4a" you just change the m4a to m4r. you now have a ringtone, drag the new file to iTunes where it will pop up in a new tab labled ringtones. If you cannot change the name of the file when it is on your desktop let me know and i will give you instuctions how to be able to change it. Once you get it figured out you can use any song you have on iTunes to make a ringtone.

Are you trying to use the phone in Bahrain with a supported carrier there? I suspect not. If you try to use this phone outside of Bahrain, you won't have FaceTime. This is done to prevent folks from simply crossing the border to purchase iPhones in Bahrain...FaceTime is banned in Saudi Arabia & the UAE. Sorry, but you'll only have FaceTime on that phone while using it in Bahrain on a supported carrier's network there.

My music will not play on my iPhone 5. It has the upgrade as well as my iTunes on my macbook. But the music will not sync to my iPhone and all music is in my library. What do I need to do?
An exclamation mark means that it doesn't know where you moved the music to. To fix this, click on the exclamation point and when it asks you to browse to the location where you moved it to, use the normal commands to go up and down folders in your external drive until you find the song. Repeat as necessary.

What setting will make sync make my iPhone and MacBook Pro contact cards alike? I've been having to key in changes to both devices because sync doesn't sync.
If you really are running Mac OS X 10.7.5 and iOS 6.1.3, you should be able to sync through iTunes, but in current releases you need to use a central contact service like iCloud.
Did you have it working and then not working, or have you never had it working?

Just make sure Automatic Downloads are set up for that publication;
Newsstand updates subscriptions only when using a Wi-Fi connection. If you aren't seeing the latest issue:
Verify that you are connected to a Wi-Fi network.
Check Settings > iTunes & App Store to verify that Automatic Downloads is enabled for that publication.

If I have both my iPhone and my iPad set up on the "Find iPhone" app, and I disable location services on my iPhone, will I still be able to track my iPad from my iPhone by using this app?
iWork is universal, so it will work full-res on the iPad. This is true for any app which has the plus sign symbol (in the App Store in iTunes it will say "This app is designed for iPhone and iPad".

My iPhone 5s will backup to both my PC and cloud, it then says it's syncing, but new music that I put in to iTunes doesn't transfer over to the phone.
It depends on the iPod shuffle model... Assuming your shuffle is the 4th gen (or 3rd gen) model, do you use automatic syncing or the manual method (drag and drop song on iPod in iTunes)?

I have an iPad and an iPhone, both registered to same AppleID. Incoming Face time calls ring randomly on one or the other or both (and sometimes none). They should ring on both.
check the 'recieve at' addresses you set in settings, facetime. you can have multiple addresses.
On mine, i have thre addresses set the same. I am using both a phone # and my e mail address (neither one is my apple ID, by the way).
If somebody calls me to FT using the phone #, the phone rings first, followed by the pad, about 10 sec later. If they call using the e mail address, they both ring at about the same time. If one or the other answers, the other device stops ringing.
So next time a call comes, wait a bit before answering to see if the other device responds. and check your receive at addresses.
You might want to test a little - have somebody call using one address, or the other, and see if you can track the behavior. -
How will iMessenger work with 2 iphones (and an iPad)?
My household has 2 iPhones and an iPad 2. I'm the primary user of one phone and the iPad and my mom uses the other iPhone. All are registered to one AppleID (so that any purchased apps can be shared and updated easily).
This has worked great; however, I am wondering how iMessage will work. From what I understand, when you message someone who has an iOS device, it will show up on all your devices so that I can switch back and forth between iPhone and iPad for example. But if someone messages me, will it also show up on my mom's iPhone? How would this work if we have one Apple ID? I can see how she would get texts the same way she does now, but if it is from someone who has an iOS....which devices would receiver her texts? or mine? Does anyone know? 1. If you only want to buy an app once, across multiple addresses, set up one Apple ID for all devices. (I call this the "App ID") Click on Settings -> Store, and put your "App ID" in there.
2. If you want to use iMessage separately on devices, set up *separate* Apple IDs for each person--one for Mom, one for sister, etc. (I call this the "iCloud ID")
3. You can also use this "iCloud ID" so that each family member has their own 5GB of backup space for contacts, calendars, etc. Use it at Settings -> iCloud -> Account.
