Hi, My iphone 4 has deleted somehow the function of wifi hotspot in settings. Can somebody help to get it back. It happens a few days ago automatically.
Thanks for replying. I did what you said. Restored from iTunes. Then set up as new iPhone. No luck. Still can't connect to my time capsule network. Before I restored, I backed up her iPhone to computer, I'm going to restore from back up if possible because my wife had a bunch of stuff on her phone. I hope for my sake I can get it back. Also, it's really weird because her phone was working fine with my airport express network. I replaced the AE with the time capsule and now it doesn't work.

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
iPad,iPod,iPod Touch Recovery Mode
You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

Can anyone help me to get iCloud on my new Mac - one message has said that I do have an account and another message tells me that a verification email has been sent but it never arrives - where has it gone?

My iPhone 5s will not connect via wi fi to my computer using the hotspot. sometimes , if I plug it in via USB it works but most times the blue"personal hotspot connection" bar just jumps and does nothing else. Anyone , can you help?
If nothing else is working, I would reset the network settings on the iPhone. Settings/General/Reset/Reset Network Settings. Nothing will be erased from the phone, but you will need to re-enter any wifi connection you had set up previously along with re-enter any bluetooth connection you had.

So that is a mystery. However the part about:
Go back to System Preferences > Network
Make sure the box is selected next to: Show Wi-Fi status i menu bar. Solved the problem. Somehow the box had been unchecked. Gremlins I guess!

I have a 2007 iMac connected via WiFi. It has been working fine until I turned it on after a recent vacation. Network Preferences indicates that it is correctly connected to my WiFI system but the data input and output rate is virtually zero. I know that the WiFI signal is reaching the iMac since both my iPhone and iPad are working perfectly at that location. I have rebooted the router and the iMac to no avail. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Geoff

My iPad 3 wifi connection has been working perfectly.
My iPad 3 wifi connection has been working perfectly. Now I have lost automatic connections and when I join wifi told it is the wrong password. IT IS NOT. I have reset the network settings and can then connect with no problem. Keeps happening every time I try to join another wifi connection. Seems I can only store one connection at a time. This is a new problem and previously all of the connections I am tying to join worked absolutely perfectly. Is this a software update problem?
Thanks. Seems unlikely that several Wi-fi routers that were working fine have simultaneously stopped doing so.
Have tried a full system reset and set up the ipad as a new device again. Will find out whether that has worked when I try to connect my next wi-fi router tomorrow morning. I will also double check with the other ipad users whether they have been experiencing any problems with the router I could not connect to today until I reset the network settings.

How to set up wifi hotspot connectivity
I have an old laptop that was upgraded from XP to Vista Business. It runs OK but is very slow. I have Fios wireless at home and it connects fine, but the In-house Agent won't run properly (blank pages for the Internet & Phone sections...Chat tech was unhelpful). My question is: how can I set up the hotspot connectivity without having to use the worse-than-useless In-house agent?

Droid has it's own app, and boingo is what Verizon uses - so you can safely download boingo and then when it asks for your login, you put your VZ log in info.
you DO have to create a seperate WIFI log in though, So you should go to www.verizon.net/
Hover over my verizon and then select VIEW all from the my services menu > then select internet on the left hand side menu > then select manage under the verizon wifi section.
Manage gives you two options
Find Wifi Hotspots
WiFI how to demos
Select Wifi how to demos and then click and follow the registration link
when you get there, it wants you to sign in, you sign in with your main account, and then you go through the Wi-fi registration steps to make a Verizon WIFI username
these are going to be seperate usernames, one used for your account and online access, you already have this one
and the next is one specifically for wifi hotspot access, you are creating this one (if you haven't already done so) -
After updating my Iphone 4s to os 7.1.1 from 7.1 over the air, my phone went into recovery mode. Yet when I try to restore it with Itunes on my windows 7 laptop it says the network connection has been reset. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network is active, or try again later. My phone has the itunes logo and charger symbol on it, as well as an arrow pointing at the Itunes logo. After holding the sleep button down or even doing the hard reset the same screen comes up on my phone regardless of whether it is plugged in or not to my computer. I have turned my computer off and on again. It is plugged in and charging as it's battery life is very short. I also reset my modem and the same error message pops up. The only option on my computer when my phone is plugged in is to restore it. My firewall also allows Itunes through it. I have literally tried everything I know being someone who knows very little about technology. I also do not want to hear about how the update worked for other people. My phone has been in recovery mode for 5 hours at least now so it will just make me more frustrated if a bunch of people post about how the update worked for them.
Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything... and you must continue with the Recovery...

Sounds like the dial=up connection is dropping. My advice is to get it from a friend's house that has high speed internet. Put the iTunes Setup.exe file on a USB memory stick, take it to your PC and drag it to the desktop. Then run the install. -
I am trying to download the update IOS 5 version for mi ipad 2 and at the end when it finishes downloading it shows an error "connection has been interrupted and that the task could not be completed", my internet service is fine, what can it be?
