Since I have installed Mavericks the videos that I have in iphoto no longer automatically open with a click in quicktime. I cant seem to get them to play at all. I still have iphoto 08? Any ideas?

Thank you! I assume that the BBC doesn't want Americans to have access to some content (for example, Season 3 of Downton Abbey which my wife wants to see). There may be some legal/contractual barrier that prevents this. But I wasn't certain whether AppleTV actually prevents this.

Does the film show in the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page for re-downloading ? If it does (films can't be re-downloaded in all countries, and even where they can be re-downloaded not all film studios have agreed to it) then try deleting the film from your iTunes library and redownload it : re-downloading.
If you can't re-download the film or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that film and use the 'Report a Problem' link (iTunes support should reply within, I think, 24 to 48 hours).

Yes I uploaded them via USB from my iphone to my imac using iphoto, they do not open in iphoto and when i open them in Quicktime I can hear the audio but not see the video.

I neither have nor remember the computers that I have authorized so what can I do to deauthorize them so I can use my account fully?

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
1. Open iTunes on a computer
2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

I play music on my hi fi via an airport express attached to my iMac. Since installing maverick the sound quality is terrible and I get frequent distortion, which never happened before. I have reset the airport express and reconfigure my wireless settings.

I would love to turn itunes sound off as you used to be able to do, but this I believe can't be done.

When the AirPort Express Base Station (AX) is connected by Ethernet, you will find an option in the AirPort Utility, labeled: Enable AirTunes over Ethernet on the Music pane. Just select this option to allow streaming iTunes via the AirPort's Ethernet port. You should also be able to disable the AX's wireless so that it shouldn't interfere with the nearby TC.

My problem was solved. It was a hardware damage. I discovered it with a magnifying glass with light. The 32-pin connector in my iPad 2 had the last upper right pin bended over!.
My iPad is three years old and I haven't subscribed to Apple Care so, before sending it to the Apple Service, I tried to fix it myself by placing the pin it in its place carefully with a needle and cleaning the connector, and it worked!. Now I can use my iPad 2 with iOS7 and the Apple VGA connector for video mirroring as before. I guess the 32-pin connector in my iPad 2 just broke down before I upgraded to iOS7.
So, if you have problems with video mirroring with iPad 2 and iOS 7 and it is not solved after tighten connections and turning your iPad 2 off and on again, then check for hardware problems in:
1 - The iPad 2 32-pin connector.
2 - The VGA adapter device.
3 - The VGA cable.
4 - The projector itself.

What version of iPhoto and system are you using? Also what camera make and model are you using?
See if you can download all of the videos to a folder on the Desktop using Image Capture and import into iPhoto from that folder.
