HT2506 PDFs are not closing correctly in Preview.

Occasionally when closing windows in Preview, one of the PDFs will not close properly. The content of the file left the window, leaving me with a grey box for the window. It still includes the file name and page number and I am able to "scroll" through the pages to change the page number shown. Cmd +W will not close the active window. The only solution that worked was completely closing Preview itself and opening it back up.
Is there a way to prevent this from occurring or another way of closing the window without fully closing Preview?

Hi,
we use Adobe Reader 8.1.2 and we can´t change it in our company.
we now have the problems, that a few documents are not shown correctly, when they are shown with more than 150% on the screen.
at 150% the signature and some lines are shown, when we look at the document witz 177% the lines and the signatures disappear.
Does someone have the same problem AND a solution?

I'm having exactly the same problem with my 80gb ipod on my new laptop which is also running Windows 7 64 bit and iTunes 10.1.1.4.
I initially just tried syncing photos and according to iTunes it was still syncing after 4 hours, this was for 6700 photos and I wasn't asking for full resolution, but iPod just said Connected - Eject before disconnecting. I couldn't disconnect and in the end had to close iTunes before disconnecting, then there were no photos on the iPod.
Disconnected, rebooted then when I connected the iPod I got the message that it was synced to another PC which I expected so i click to erase and synch, iPod initially showed synching then went to Connected - eject message but itunes was saying "finishing synch" it showed this for hours and out of 6543 songs on the PC it was onlt showing 6002 on iPod. I stopped the synch trie dejecting but got same message Iancenaz got. Again had to close iTunes before I could disconnect iPod safely.
I'm going to try synching it back on mhy old laptop which is running Windows XP and an older version of iTunes as I suspect its either a Windows 7 or iTunes 10 problem.

PDF file not showing correctly in Preview or other apps

I've trying to find an answer to my question for some time now on the internet, but couldn't find it anywhere. When I open a pdf file from someone who created it using Windows diagrams that are supposed to be Matrices are not showing properly. Most probably the matrices were created using the equation builder in MOffice.

And for some reason, when I try to quicklook the file, some pages are displayed incorrectly - only showing a quarter of the page:
Any help on this? Is there some sort of an update to solve this problem, or should I download additional fonts??
I am using a Macbook Alu from 2008 with OS X Maverick installed - all latest updates are installed.. (However the same problem appeared when using an iPad)

Hi Carolyn,
I looked at your file and it seems the problem is with the resolution. The design is great but the resolution was too low.
Fortunately your Apple Smart Object was high resolution so I was able to increase the resolution of the file as it is. You will need to replace the Bar Code and possibly the little flower on the back cover with high res versions.
In the future you need to start with the document being sized right and the resolution at 300 ppi. Make sure your graphics are high resolution from the start as well. You can't regain resolution that was left out, although using High Resolution Smart Objects can give you the the latitude you need to size back up.
After I sent the file I looked closely at the font. The one font you used does have zaggies but it's supposed to. Bradley Hand ITC TT is kind of a rough font around the edges by design. If this is what seems to be the problem, you will need to change to another font. Still, the file needed to be higher resolution.
I sent one back to you in high res. All you need to do is replace the bar code and the little flower with high res version. The apple graphic smart object was high enough.

Subreport totals are not displayed correctly in Preview

I'm using Crystal Reports 2008. I have a subreport that sorts hiearchically. It is placed in the Report Header of the main report. Within the subreport, it has calculated totals for each hiearchy grouping. When ran, those totals are incorrectly displayed in the Preview; however, when I click on the subreport, those totals are displayed correctly in the preview of the subreport. Also, if I go to the subreport design, pretending I'm editing the subreport, then go back to the main report preview, those totals are correct.
Has anyone experienced this issue? Please provide help/advise. Thanks.

Shwu, The subreport does not process any value based on the main report. I also observed that if the group extends to next page, the totals are incorrectly displayed. I have both 'Keep Group Together' and section 'Keep Together' selected, but still the data extends to next page. The subreport is sorted with 'Hierarchical Grouping'. For example, below 2 lines are printed at bottom of a page:
North America
    Sales department
then Crystal prints the rest of departments belong to North America onto next page as:
     Marketing
     Consumer
         Government
         etc.
I was hoping if I could get Crystal to not print the group if there's not enough space on the page, but rather print on next new page, the incorrect totals would go away. Any idea how I would do page break for hierarchical groupings?

PDFs are not printing correctly in Adobe Reader 10.1.3

When I try to print pages from a PDF using Adobe Reader 10.1.3, some of the text is not printing. If I use another PDF program, such as Apple Preview, that text is printed correctly.

This is not a channel to official Adobe support. I cannot find the bug by the number you gave in the Adobe help system.

PDF colors not displaying correctly in preview

Forgive me if someone has answered this. I've searched the forums for about 30 min and cannot find anything.
When opening certain pdf files in preview, some of the photographs have messed up colors. It looks as though they are negatives of what they should be. I can open them in Adobe Acrobat and they look fine, but would much rather use Preview. Does this have to do with a setting when the pdf files are made? Is there any way to fix it?
I think I've described the problem enough, but below is a picture to help explain. The below picture is supposed to be a black arm sleeve with white and yellow letters. In this instance, the rest of the pictures on the document are fine, just a few of them were like this.

Pdfs are not reading correctly

I use indesign and illustrator CS6 and when I write a pdf my client says its showing up as funky black and white and not color. Is there something wrong with my software?

Also, how are you creating the PDF. I am assuming it is from ID that has included graphics from Illustrator, but did you use the Illustrator tools or print to the Adobe PDF printer (the Acrobat tool)? What options did you select on the creation tool?

I am using a software called archicad on a pc to create pdf files when we try to open them on a mac the fonts are all screwed up it is Arial a very basic font

International Characters in PDF Forms are not shown correctly (Adobe Reader 11.0.06)

I have a PDF form served from a web application and shown in Internet Explorer and want to put in string values with norwegian letter like 'ÅRE ØRE ÆRE'.
These are not shwon correctly when I toggle "Highlight Existing Fields" and the focus is not on the text field in question.
I am runing on Windows 7.

Pdf not displayed correctly in preview

We have a new A) scanner (colortrac Ci40) and when we scan a pdf it is displayed in preview as if it is all wrinkled up.
Only in prewiew and if imorted in vectorworks. (on both OSX 10.5 and 10.6)
The same problem appears on a iPad.
It is not displayed correctly.
In all other programms I tried it is displayed properly.
We also have a small a4/a3 scanner from konica minolta and these scans display corectly in preview.
Is this only a preview problem and should I ignore it?

I have a very similar problem: a number of pdf files that I can see perfectly well in Safari/GoogleChrome do NOT show correctly in Preview or ANY iPad app I have (Notability, Adobe, PDF Expertm iAnnotate, Dropbox etc.).
The problem is that punctuation -- with the expection of periods or bolded text -- does not show properly. For example, commas and quotation marks to not show, and some numbers to not show.
Moreover, once I have annotated/viewed the problematic file on the IPad and resync to dropbox to view on Mac vis Adobe (which I do with most pdf files with no problems), I get an error message upon reopening the pdf file saying "Cannot extract the embedded font 'FAFWQV+--unknown-2--'. Some characters may not display or print correctly." (the 'quoted' text changes each time). When opening in Preview, no error message appears, though the fole is still lacking punctuation etc.

NB: the file is in Mandarin, however I can successfully open/edit/annotate/sync other pdfs using Mandarin font so I'm not sure if the language is related to the problem.

Why Arabic charactes in PDF are not shown ?

I have Microsoft IIS , oracle report server , Acrobat writer 5 and report builder 6
in Windows2000 with Arabic language enabled.
In live previewer and HTML format Arabic characters are shown correctly in my report
also when i print my report by Acrobat distiller printer, but when i generate to file PDF ,
arabic characters are not shown correctly (they are not shown as question marks )
this meanes that my reports in IE5 as PDF do not show arabic characters.
How Can I define my Acrobat distiller printer as default printer used by web CGI (rwcgi60) ?
I have found this statment in developer documents:
"PDF does not support multi-byte character sets."
wether it meanes that i can not have reports with arabic characters as PDF?

BiDi was not supported in PDF output in reports 6/6i. It is supported in reports 9i.

Colors in pdf files not displayed correctly on linux acroread

I have recently observed that the colors in certain pdf files are not displayed correctly in acroread on Linux. Other readers such as evince get it right. Examples are a presentation with white arrows on a black background which come out as black on black. I suspect, but have not proved, that the files were produced on Mac OS. I see this in acroread version 9.5.1 on a couple of versions of Linux. I googled this but could find no-one else mentioning it. Has anyone else seen it. Looks like a serious bug to me.

Does this happen with other PDFs on the server? You might check out the Adobe forums.

Some fonts are not shown correctly in LabVIEW 2012

I found a bug related with fonts in LabVIEW2012 f3 KR.
- When I select NI7SEG in font selection dialog, right font is not shown in the example box.
- Draw text at point.vi shows same problem for some fonts while other fonts are working.
I reported it to Korean NI. As far as I know, this was not reported in previous versions and I couldn't find any related documents in Google.
So, here I would like to know whether it is related with only Korean version. Please let me know if English version is OK.

Just now, I installed LabVIEW 2012 f3 (32-bit, English) and checked for the issue. But the font(NI7SEG) was not shown properly in VI either.
- Both of Korea and English version of LabVIEW 2012 on Win 7 Korea OS shows wrong results. It is same on 64-bit OS.
- LabVIEW 2010 but on same PC shows correct fonts.
Is there a limit of number of fonts in LabVIEW? There are more than 100 fonts are shown in the "Selection Font" dialog and I can divide them into 3 groups by sequential order. I find that all fonts in the 3rd group are not applied correctly.

Umlauts are not displayed correctly in different programs

I live in germany, but my locale is set to "en_US.UTF8" because I like to have everything in english.
I do not have any problems with umlauts on the machine, but when I connect with sFTP oder Samba to it, the umlauts in files are not displayed correctly.
Look at this example
The upper word is how it looks in "ssh putty" (=locally on the machine), the bottom one is from "filezilla" (from my windows host)

When I create a file "asd_aöü" locally on the machine (with the help of ssh - putty), it looks fine, but when I connect by samba or filezilla again the umlauts are not displayed correctly.

PO screen custom fields are not in correct order

Hi Experts,
After creating Shopping cart and purchase order successfully created.
Added my custom fields for PO structure INCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSD_PO fields are visible in PO screen automatically with out adding my custom fields in PO layout /SAPSRM/WDC_DODC_PO_I_BD
when i go to PO screen i can see my custom fields but all fields are not in correct order.How can my fields should be in order.
and i added two custom buttons in my PO layout for WD component /SAPSRM/WDC_DODC_PO_I_BD i am not able to see my buttons?
Could you please help me out in this issues its urgent.

I've had this problem. There may be a more elegant solution, but what I do is make a playlist of the album and put the movements in the correct order in the playlist. I've also put numbers (01, 02, etc.) in front of the name of the movements. Either one works.
