HT2562 What if the Podcast is gone

What happens if the Podcast is gone

Hi,
To search all records using NVL give the condition as
select ename, sal
from emp
where emp.deptno = NVL(:deptno,emp.deptno)
i.e the second parameter is the column name itself
The condition specified by you i.e
where upper(ename) like NVL(:ename,'%','%'|| upper(:ename) ||'%')
will not work accepts only two paramteres and you are using three
parameters
Thanks

  • HT200124 what is the podcast producer server?

I am trying to set up my Podcast Capture....it is asking me for "podcast producer server"?

Are you running into a situation where the difference in time between producing an event, and consuming it, is actually causing your problems?  If not, this is not a question worth worrying about.  Use whatever is most appropriate for your application.
There's no need to make wild guesses - build a VI, benchmark and test!  The attached is a reasonable starting point, although I think the event structure may be slow due to setup time but may respond quickly once running.  If you experiment with this, you'll probably find that there's no definite answer to which is fastest.  Changing the size of the RT-FIFO, or of the queue, makes a big difference in speed.  At least in my testing, a single-element RT-FIFO is fastest, but an infinitely large queue is faster than a small queue, and a longer RT-FIFO is much slower than the single-element version.
It's important to realize that RT is not another word for Fast or Efficient, it's another word for Consistent.  For the purposes of real-time (deterministic) execution, it doesn't matter how fast the RT-FIFO functions are so long as they execute in exactly the same amount of time, every time (with the exception of a "forever" timeout value, of course).  You can use either a standard queue or an RT-FIFO to communicate between loops.  One use for an RT-FIFO is when a time-critical loop is enqueuing the data.  It guarantees that the amount of time needed to put data into the FIFO will not vary.  Enqueueing data in a standard queue will sometimes be faster than other times, depending on whether there is already space available in the queue or space needs to be allocated for the new element.  If this variation is unacceptable, then use an RT-FIFO; otherwise, the standard queue works just as well.
If the architecture shown in your image is working for you, I don't see any reason to change it.
EDIT: oops, almost forgot to attach the code I used for testing!

  • IWeb is not working for sending podcasts to iTunes, so I need a new web building tool. What is the closest thing to iWeb that I can use, which also supports podcasts?

iWeb is not working for sending podcasts to iTunes, so I need a new web building tool. What is the closest thing to iWeb that I can use, which also supports podcasts?

There's no reason you can't go on using iWeb for this - with iWeb '08 you have to publish to a local folder (i.e. on your Mac) and then upload the contents of the folder (not the folder itself) to your hosting service: and you have to make sure you enter the new URL in the Publish information or the feed won't work properly; this done, an iWeb podcast should work fine.
Of course there is still the problem that iWeb is not supported and sooner or later a system upgrade may break it. You could look at RapidWeaver: you can make podcasts with that, though the last time I looked into that - which was admittedly some time back - I didn't feel it was ideal for this. There are lots of other podcast creation programs or services around. WordPress is OK but it may be a bit of a steep learning curve: Libsyn is an online service that seems to work reliably. Blogger writes messy feeds but does usually work. Podcast Maker used to work well - I used it myself a few years back - but it rather looks as if it's gone moribund and it may not be reliable with Lion/Mountain Lion, so you would want to check into that.

  • What is the URL for an individual podcast episode?

I need for visitors to my non-imac website to be able to download an individual episode of my podcast without going to my imac website. How can I do this? I can't find a URL that works for an individual episode in the "view source."
Apparently this worked in HomePage, or whatever that was, but I didn't use it and now I guess it's gone. This is really frustrating!!!
    Non-imac webpage: www.civilwartraveler.com/_Audio
( Links now are test things.... Not what I actually need to download!)
    imac podcast page: web.mac.com/civilwartraveler/iWeb/Site/Podcast/4E26C6B2-F63F-4ED2-84CC-E2177004 4148.html
    Thanks for your help!

    I went here:
    http://web.mac.com/civilwartraveler/iWeb/Site/Podcast/Podcast.html
and then used the RSS link that shows up in Safari:
    feed://rss.mac.com/civilwartraveler/iWeb/Site/Podcast/rss.xml
and then to download I right-cicked on the file name:
    http://web.mac.com/civilwartraveler/iWeb/Site/Podcast/9FCBB25A-FD9B-44BE-92B6-5B 316DFADD3E_files/malvernhill-sm.m4a
I think that all the podcasts should have the same starting address:
    http://web.mac.com/civilwartraveler/iWeb/Site/Podcast/9FCBB25A-FD9B-44BE-92B6-5B 316DFADD3E_files/
then the next bit is either the filename, or on my site ( http://www.forskybird.us ) it turns out that it's the title of that week's episode (spaces and all). I don't know of a way to automatically include a download link, so I'll probably start putting one in the episode description so my listeners, like yours, can download the files and listen to then as they please.
Hopefully a future upgrade wil make this process a bit easier

  • I downlaoded the latest iTunes version and now my Podcasts are gone from iTunes on my computer.  Where can I access them on iTunes on my computer?

I downloaded the latest version of iTunes on my computer, and now my Podcasts are gone from iTunes (on my computer).  Can I still access Podcasts in iTunes (on my computer) ? (I see the latest Podcasts downloading, but can't find them in iTunes.  What am I overlooking?)

Could be since it (security software) is listed as #5 in the following:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

  • How can I create a playlist that syncs with my ipod touch 5 that plays both podcasts and music? Before updating to itunes 11 I was able to do it and now it seems that the power is gone. (I do not have the podcast app on my ipod touch 5)

When apple first introduced the podcast app for my iphone I discovered that installing it took away the option to have a playlist (smart playlist or regular) that mixed music, audiobooks and podcasts. I therefore quickly uninstalled it and was happy to have my iOS devices happily mixing music and podcasts.
With the push to itunes 11.1 and iOS 7 on my ipod Touch and ipad mini I no longer have mixed playlists. I do see (according to itunes) that the podcasts are copied to my devices but there doesn't seem any way to play them. Nor do my mixed format playlists contain them.
When combined with the change to the podcast tab in itunes that shows all available by default and doesn't seem to offer any way to Turn it OFF so I can easily see what new unlistened to podcasts exist it seems that the way I got used to using my itunes since my ipod nano first generation has been eliminated. I haven't read why so if someone could point me to their logic on how come I would want the changes they keep trying to force on me I would at least understand their motives.
If no one has a better fix I have discovered that I can declare the podcasts to be audiobooks and get them to play that way. One downside to that approach is that it doesn't clear them out of the podcast folder thanks to the change to the iCloud friendly format or whatever they were hoping for.

And what is the wording of the error message?

  • Help I just installed the latest update on my IPhone4 and now I can't open any of my stored podcasts. When I hit the podcast icon, the screen goes white for a second and the goes back to the opening page with all the icons. What happened?

Help! I just installed the latest update on my IPhone 4 and now I can't access my podcasts. When I hit the podcast I on, the screen goes blank for a second and then opens to the home screen with all my icons. What happened?

Try a reset which is similar to a computer restart and is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously you see the Apple logo and then release.

  • What is the best way to move multiple formats of songs/photos/podcasts to a new computer?

For most of my life, I have used my family's home Windows desktop to establish my iTunes account with my iPod Classic (5th gen). On this computer I have:
    iTunes store purchases
    CD imports
    Other MP3 files
    Podcasts
    Photos downloaded from online
Now I am in college in another city, and I won't be able to come home much, so I'm setting up iTunes on my laptop as my new "home base", as it were. I've already authorized it under the same account that I use on my desktop. What is the best way to move all of this stuff from my old computer to my new one? I'm thinking an external hard drive is the best decision, but I want the input of the Apple community. You guys are much more knowledgable than I am! Thanks!

    Hey Alayna,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities, and thanks for the question! I'm not really in a position to recommend a "best" option, as there are several different ways to go. You can read over your options in the following document and decide which one works best for you:

My iPod touch suddenly stopped working. It was fine earlier, but when I went back a few hours later, the screen had gone black and I was unable to turn it on. It is now unresponsive and my computer does not recognize it when it is plugged in. I thought it just needed to be charged but there seems to be a larger issue now. What should I do?

Let your ipod die. Then when it is dead charge it adn turn it back on. After that it should be fine.

    Hi Memalyn
Essentially, the bare issue is that you have a 500GB hard drive with only 10GB free. That is not sufficient to run the system properly. The two options you have are to move/remove files to another location, or to install a larger hard drive (eg 2TB). Drive space has nothing to do with SMC firmware, and usually large media files are to blame.
My first recommendation is this: download and run the free OmniDiskSweeper. This will identify the exact size of all your folders - you can drill down into the subfolders and figure out where your largest culprits are. For example, you might find that your Pictures folder contains both an iPhoto Library and copies that you've brought in from a camera but are outside the iPhoto Library structure. Or perhaps you have a lot of purchased video content in iTunes.
If you find files that you KNOW you do not need, you can delete them. Don't delete them just because you have a backup, since if the backup fails, you will lose all your copies.
Don't worry about "cleaners" for now - they don't save much space and can actually cause problems. Deal with the large file situation first and see how you get on.
Let us know what you find out, and if you manage to get your space back.
    Matt

My iPod Classic will no longer allow me to create podcast playlists.  It create music playlists.  I've restored it twice.  What is the problem?

Is the problem that you can create them in iTunes, but they are empty on the iPod itself? If so, I had that problem, and the issue appeared to be that playlists that used MediaType=Podcast didn't seem to transfer. If, on the other hand, I gave all podcasts a Genre of Podcast, it worked better. In general, with the older iPod classic, I found that playlists based on MediaType didn't work that well.

  • TS1292 hi, I've got itunes music card for my birthday and when I scratch the back to redeem the code everything gone, so no code, what can I do?

hi, I've got itunes music card for my birthday and when I scratched the back to redeem the code everything gone, so no code, what can I do? I've been to tesco to customer service and they told to contact itunes support

These are user-to-user forums. If the page that you posted from doesn't help then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page (you will probably need to give them images of the front and back of the card, and possibly its receipt) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then iTunes Cards And Codes

  • What's the right way to organize podcasts?

I have a question about the best way to keep podcasts. What I do is download podcasts from a few sources. I put them into a playlist (so that they go one after the other and don't require me to press buttons when one ends, which is what happens if I listen to the podcast category directly). I sync them to my iPod and listen on airplane trips. Now, most of them I want to delete, but say every 5th one is one I'd like to keep. So when I get back, I have to remember which one is which and delete them from iTunes. Question one: any way to mark them for deletion from the iPod itself (so that I won't have to remember which out of 50 were the good ones?).
Further, how do I keep them? I want the good ones I've already listened to in one place (e.g., playlist "archived podcasts") and new ones that get downloaded which I haven't listened to in another place (e.g., playlist "airplane content"). I imagine I'm not the only one, so how are people doing this - what's the best way to keep an up-to-date playlist of only the new podcasts, and store the listened-to ones elsewhere?
    thanks in advance,
    Mike

  • What is the EQ or equalizer? what does it do?  PODCAST problems

what it the equalizer and what does it do?
I understand that if i turn it off it saves battery life?
also, i've downloaded several podcasts but they are automatically put somewhere else and dont show up under "podcasts".
one more question, how do i delete things from my ipod?
    it's a 5th gen 30 gig video
    Thanks so much!

EQ helps bring out certain sounds for whatever you are listening to...say a radio show ...if you want to hear the speaker better, you might turn on the voice EQ...same goes with music...if you want to hear certain parts (like the lead guitar...you would turn up the treble..etc....)
but some podcasts will not play with the EQ on because of the file of some older podcasts...my basic rule of thumb is this: EQ wastes battery life FAST! and makes ipod freeze frequently when listening to podcasts...so i dont use it...
as far as deleting things from your ipod:
in your itunes library, you can either highlight the thing you want to delete and press "delete" to send it to your recycle bin (which will take it oof your ipod when you sync w/ your computer...unless you choose to put it back on...) OR you can "uncheck" the item you want to be offyour ipod...this will just take it off your ipod, while keeping it on your computer's hard drive...
so you have 2 choices there...
i know thats alot of info...but i hope it helps...
    good luck...
