HT3069 Can I purchase a TV show only available in Canada?

I am really addicted to a TV series that is only available in Canada. I was wondering if I can purchase the series and watch it on my ipod. It sent me to itunes Canada but won't let me purchase it. Wil it ever be available in the US or is there a way I can still purchase it. The name of the series is Heartland.

This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Why are we not able to purchage a digital series from Canada? I found this because I had the same question. I did not understand why it would not let me purchase. Seems they would want us to buy it - makes more money for them.

Yep, I know it was released for the World Junior Hockey Championships, but it was a recent release since the World Juniors were only last month so I am hoping he still will have it released world wide. After all it the money is going for Canadian Hockey (Youth I believe) so you would think he would want to raise as much money as he could. If all you see is itunes applications, then you can't.
There are other topics around here that go into more detail, but each content rights holder signs agreements with Apple for distribution rights within each country , and apparently that takes a while.

How can I get Expose to show only and all active windows, regardless of app

Sometimes I have two applications running with several finder windows hidden on the dock. I'd like to know how I can (or if I can) get Expose to show only the Active windows - not the ones on the dock. With this new upgrade, it seems that all open windows that are on the dock appear in a row at the bottom of the screen, which takes up real estate - can I turn that function off so just the open, undocked windows of all apps show?

Sounds like you opened a message in a new window. Have you tried closing that window and see what happens?
If that is not it maybe you can post a screen shot of what you are seeing.

Are you sure your computer is authorized for this? This is probably your issue.
If you go to the "Advanced" tab on the top in iTunes, is there a "Deauthorize computer..." button or an "Authorize computer..." button? If there's an "authorize computer" link, then that is your issue. Authorize your computer, and you should be able to transfer iTMS purchased songs from iTunes to iPod.

it's telling you what you need to do.
log into your itunes account on your pc/mac, and update your billing details. even if everything looks correct, set it all again and save it.
you should then be able to purchase.

I Live In US Can I Purchase a Gift Card For Sombody In Canada

Simple enough question. Talked to the itunes support and they said got to the Apple Canada itunes store. I did and when I try and purchase a card it opens my itunes account in the US where you can only buy US applicable cards. I suspect this is a futile effort.
Would appreciate any suggestions on how I might do this.

Dave, I understand the restriction, but follow the logic in this example (I hope it's logical. Feel free to punch holes in it). I think it could work (at least for e-mailed, virtual gift cards.)
We have a purchaser with an account in the iTunes store of country A, and a recipient who uses (or would use) the iTunes Store in country B.
1) The purchaser (in country A) is restricted to buying only gift cards in the online iTunes store of country B. No music, movies, TV shows or anything else copyrighted. Only gift cards. This is merely a matter of programming. Right now, I can go onto the US iTunes store and listen to the 30-second samples of tracks, I can browse the music and movies. I just can't purchase them. Lift that restriction for gift cards. They are geniuses out there at Apple. I'm sure it can be done.
2) In order for the gift card to be valid and redeemable, the purchaser must enter the e-mail address of the recipient's account - a valid, open account in the iTunes store of country B (meaning the recipient's credit card info is already known to Apple.) This way, Apple knows that the gift card purchased in iTunes store B will be redeemed by someone who has an account in iTunes store B, and therefore any music purchased would be from iTunes store B and the agreement between Apple and the record companies won't be violated. As explained in my last post, it would not be cross-border shopping, either, as the entire transaction (purchase & redemption of the gift card, and the downloading of any copyrighted material after the gift card has been redeemed) would take place in country B.
If the purchaser doesn't know the account address of the recipient, the purchaser can ask the recipient for it. I know, as it's a gift, it kind of ruins the surprise if you have to ask the recipient what their iTunes account address is, but I'd give up that surprise the first time around to be able to give gift cards to friends and family who live in other countries in the future.
3) If the Recipient doesn't have an account yet, in order to redeem the gift card, the recipient has to open an account on iTunes store B, using the e-mail address the purchaser used to send the gift card. But in order to open the account, the recipient has to enter valid credit card info for purchases in country B's iTunes store. If the recipient can't do that, the gift card isn't valid and the purchaser just has wasted their money. No music was purchased, and therefore, again, the agreement between Apple and the record companies isn't broken.
Does this make sense? I think it's do-able.

How can I set Mail to show only one email at a time

Mail will group emails based on subject or sender and then I keep losing or missing emails because they get buried in a thread. Sometimes under another persons name!
I'm old and easily confused.
I just want one email per line. No grouping. Can't seem to figure out how.

Can you customize iCal to show only one kind of Entry. Work vs Home?

I use iCal for work and home..is there way to just view HOME and Work separately? Like a filter.
I don't want to see work stuff on the Calendar at home, since I have a ton of work stuff in my calendar, some of the personal entries get lost in my view.
So I'd love a way to see "HOME ONLY" entries.
I imported my Calendar information, synced it from Yahoo...so all the entries are CALENDAR..I'd like to convert them to Work or OFFICE in order to filter them.

Can't detect external monitor, shows only 640x480

Hi,
I'm using a Macbook Pro Unibody 13" 2.53GHz to connect to a Dell 2408WFP external monitor. It worked FLAWLESSLY with my old Macbook Pro using a DVI cable.
1) I first bought the infamous mini-Displayport to DVI adaptor. It didn't work (red static etc. check the page of this product on Apple's store website : you'll see it's a known issue). Cost me 35$
2) I then bought a mini-Displayport to Displayport cable. Thought it should work perfectly. It DOES NOT. The Macbook is apparently UNABLE TO DETECT my Dell and gives it a default resolution of 640x480. Which is ridiculous knowing that the Dell 2408WFP is capable of displaying 1900x1200.
It's really a pain. Does anyone know about this problem or have an idea how to solve it?

Ok,
It was neither the cable nor the computer (thanks Apple). It was the monitor's EDID profile. Dell's problem.
There's two ways to fix this. 1) It is possible (I did it) to create a custom profile using SwitchResX. You'll need to hook up your computer to the monitor using a working connexion (I used DVI) and then use the "export" function in SwitchResX. It will give you a text file. In it you'll have enough data to fill SwitchResX' form to setup a custom profile. You'll then need to restart the computer, hook it with the Displayport cable and try to use this custom EDID profile. It worked for me.
For example (and hoping it will help others) here are the data you need to setup a custom profile for the Dell 2408WFP :
Descriptor #0 - Timing definition:
Mode = 1920 x 1200 @ 59,950Hz
Pixel Clock............. 154,00 MHz Non-Interlaced
Horizontal Vertical
Active.................. 1920 pixels 1200 lines
Front Porch............. 48 pixels 3 lines

Blanking................ 160 pixels 35 lines
Total................... 2080 pixels 1235 lines

Sync: Digital separate with
* Negative vertical polarity
* Positive horizontal polarity
2) Of course, you can call Dell and tell them about it. They are sending me a THIRD replacement monitor for this. Be prepared when you call them : I spoke with two representative (and among them a "senior technician") who DIDN'T know what was a Displayport. They even tried to sell me the idea that 640x480 is the native resolution for Displayport. It was hilarious. Really. I got them to look it up on Wikipedia.

A wifi only pad will work anywhere in the world. When you set it up, to same issues down the road, set it up in the country where you plan to use it most. That will get you to the right I tunes store for your country.
If you get a 3 g pad, you do not need to sign up until you get home, and find a carrier that supports the pad in your country.

My Illustrator CC has disappeared and although it was part of my purchase, now it is only available as a trial version?? Can someone help?
