When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
    (2) Remove your Yahoo cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
This will open a dialog where you can remove the individual cookies.
Then try reloading the page and logging in again. Does it work any better?

  • Calendar info disappeared from laptop and then from handheld

Please help- I have a new TX and today i noticed that my calendar entries were missing from my laptop palm application so i figured i would hotsync it ( after telling it that handheld rewrites computer) and almost all of my entries on my handheld disappeared.  I am trying to reconstruct it but i can't find it in archives or backup.  Can anyone help?  thanks.
    Post relates to: Palm TX

I'm not sure what happen why you lost all your calendars when you hotsync your Palm. I will try to help you restore your calendar data.
    About the file 1142K.
Before we touch this file make a backup copy. Also you said you just rebuild some of your calendar data, let's make a backup copy of those data that you had created.
Open the Palm Desktop software and select the Date/Calendar icon on the left to view your calendar data.
Click on File > Export and give the file name and remember where you are saving the file, ie. calendar.dba (we need this file later after we restore your 1142k file) and click on export.
    Close the Palm Desktop software.
Using windows explorer, rename the datebook.bak located in your C:\Program Files\Palm\(your userid)\datebook folder to datebook.dat (hoping the datebook.bak file is not corrupted).
After you rename the file from datebook.bak to datebook.dat open Palm Desktop software and select the Date/Calendar icon and see if you had restore your lost calendar data.
If successful, you need to "Import" the backup file (calendar.dba) so you will still have the ones that you had rebuilt.
To Import, from Palmdesktop click on File > Import and locate the calendar.dba file, select the file and click Import. Verify your calendar and make sure you can see the one that you rebuilt.
    Good luck and post back...

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • I just noted that my calendar history has disappeared prior to August 9th.  I don't know why or how.  Is there any way to get it back?

I just noted that my calendar history has disappeared prior to August 9th.  Events are only listed from that date until now.  I don't know how or why this happened.  Is there anyway to retrieve the lost event information?

Do you sync with Outlook or another calendar program. Many calendar programs have an auto archive that removes events from the calendar after a certain period of time. They would be located in the archived calendar if that is the case.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
If that does not work, then please return to these forums (http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/) and register an account so that we can provide you with direct assistance.
    Cheers!Best!

I've cleared almost 30 gig off of my hard drive in the past 2 weeks, and it will temporarily show that in the Get Info box.  But hours later, I am still getting a disk full error and all of the memory has disappeared.  I have cleared my backup logs from Time Machine, checked the mail folder, cleaned out tons of photos and videos and it still keeps filling back up.

Any ideas on what to do next?
    I'm running and iMac 20-inch  early 2009
Processor  2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory  8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce 9400 256 MB
    Software  OS X 10.8.4 (12E55)

    Step 1
Quit Calendar. Triple-click the line below to select it:
    ~/Library/Calendars/Calendar Cache
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu. A Finder window should open with a file named "Calendar Cache" selected.
Move the selected file to the Trash. There may be one or two other files in the same folder with names that begin in "Calendar Cache". If so, delete those files too.
    Step 2
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash as well:
    iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of your data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
To locate large files, you can use Spotlight. That method may not find large folders that contain a lot of small files.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders. It may take some minutes for ODS to list all the files.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal.

  • HT204053 How can I see past months calendar events

How can I see past months calendar events

In both iTunes, "Do not sync events older than xx days" is unchecked.
In other news, do you have any idea why all All-day events -- both one-time and repeating -- (e.g., holidays, anniversaries) disappeared when I migrated everything from an old MacBook with OSX 10.6 and iCal to a new MacBook Air with OSX 10.8 and Calendar?  This is on the computer synced to the iPhone with only two months of past events.  (To be clear, that MacBook Calendar has all past events on it going back about 10 years.  Just the All-day events were lost.)

I lost all of my calendar info like appointments for myself and four kids. I want to go to a previous backup to try to recover these appts. All I see is how to backup from the last one. Can I go back 2 or 3 backups?
I lost it somewhere in the process of flying to and from Savannah. I have tried to reset my iPhone and also restore it but as I said I can only restore from last backup which does not have my appointments.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

BlackBerry Desktop Software utilizes Apple's SyncServices technology in order to synchronize Contact, Calendar, Notes, and Tasks information to and from the Mac computer.
BlackBerry Desktop Software synchronizes information with the SyncServices database, which is synchronized with the desktop applications on the Mac computer (for example: Apple Address Book, iCal, Apple Mail, Microsoft Outlook for Mac). BlackBerry Desktop Software does not synchronize directly to or from the desktop applications on the Mac computer.
Mac OS X Mavericks v10.9 and later does not use SyncServices, therefore, it is not possible to synchronize Contact or Calendar information using the BlackBerry Desktop Software on these versions of OS X.
For more information on SyncServices and OS X Mavericks, see the following Apple Support article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5847
Note: BlackBerry Desktop software 2.4 is still supported for use with Mac OS X v10.6, 10.7, and 10.8.
