HT3275 Conflict btw Time Machine & Time Machine Editor since upgrade to OS X 10.9.1. N Backups since December!! Genius bar have tried to fix but .... How do I fix this?
Software on my MAC updated to OS X 10.9.1 late December. Since then Time Machine and Time Machine Editor have been in conflict resulting in no backups! I constantly receive alerts to that effect. I had also set this to backup once a day instead of every hour, now I don't seem to have that option. Genius Bar people were very helpful but whatever they did has not fixed the issue. Would greatly appreciate assistance with this problem. Thanks in advance!
The current information from the Time Machine Editor folks is that it will support Lion (10.7.x) and Mountain Lion (10.8.x), but there is no mention of support for Mavericks (10.9.x).

If you contact the support folks at Time Software, they will likely tell you that they cannot offer support for problems related to Mavericks.
If that is the case, ask them for the steps to safely uninstall Time Machine Editor so that it will hopefully not conflict with the operating system in Mavericks.
Worst case, as LaPastenague mentions, you may need to re-install Mavericks again on your Mac to get Time Machine working again....since it appears that the Editor does modify some of the files in the Mac operating system.

If you forgot your encryption password:
Warning: Make sure it's a password you will remember or write it down for safekeeping. If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and forget your password, you can't restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable.
If you can't remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and chooseset up as a new device when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore.

Why does my itunes crash after start up with an "APPCRASH" error every time i open it?! I have been trying to fix this for weeks but all i can do it re-install it every other day which does nothing! I am desperate to get access to my itunes to get music on my phone and all of this just makes me want me to sell my iphone since there is no other way to add music to my phone. If things go get sorted soon you can say goodbye to my support.

My iMessage does not appear to be working. Every time I go to reply to an existing message it just appears as normal text. I have tried to create a new message but it still just defaults to normal messages. I have checked my settings but it is all set up as it should be. Is there anything I've missed or could try? Thanks
Try the following:
In Finder, select the problematic volume and then press command-I.
Expand the Sharing & permissions section if it's collapsed.
If the section is locked, then unlock it by pressing the padlock button and then authenticating as directed.
Tick/check Ignore ownership on this volume. -
Airport time capsule 2 TB. All is connected and Wi-Fi is working but light still flashes amber rather than solid green. I have tried to reset but this still happens. Is there a way to fix this or do I need to?
You want to see a green light on the Time Capsule.
Once you have set up the Time Capsule initially, a flashing amber light indicates that the Time Capsule has a message for you....possibly about a network condition or notice of an update that is available.
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the amber dot and another window will appear to provide the current status....along with suggested actions to remedy the flashing amber light. -

I have attempted to update ipad1 with latest update but after extracting software it goes to restoring ipad software and stops at 25% on the bar. Have tried several times but it does the same, I now have one usless ipad help! any ideas ?

I am unable to burn mp3 audio files to cd.Every time it says failed due to media write error.I have tried different speeds.Can anyone help pls?
There are several different incompatible media sold as writeable CDs. You MUST match the media to the abilities of your drive.
I was flummoxed by buying 8x media when my drive was a 2x drive. I needed the other type, and there was nothing helpful in the diagnostics or the packaging that helped me understand that.

Hi, 2011 macbook pro 13.3". Every time I use facetime after about 5 minutes they can't hear me. They still see me moving and I see them moving and also hear them. Anyone have a reccommendation on how to fix this? thanks
Robsounds like third party drivers interfering. How do you connect your audio or are you using your computer speakers?
Have you tried going into system preferences audio midi setup and making sure your mic is selected?
This could be the people you are trying to reach's issue where they might have something running that cuts out the audio for them.
try hitting Video, internal mic, when you're on facetime. if it's selected, then you might want to try to connect with someone else and see if the issue persists. -
This is extremely annoying as I have over 100 albums and I have to manually go through and 'hide' each duplicate. Attatched is an example:
Not only that, but every time I sync my iPad/iPod's with my PC, the same happens on those devices, with albums copied on twice!!

When I boot up Firefox, my default web browser, Firefox appears and then it loads another page of Firefox that has adds. How can you help me with this issue?
This unwanted page opens as a second tab, or as a second window? The usual cause of this problem is a bad add-on. Here's my suggested procedure for tracking down and removing bad add-ons. I know it seems long, but it's not that bad.
(1) Open the Windows '''Control Panel''', Uninstall a Program. After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in smoking out undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. ''Don't be fooled by seemingly innocent or important names if you do not remember choosing to install them.'' Take out as much trash as possible here.
(2) Open Firefox's '''Add-ons page''' using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
* in the Windows "Run" dialog, type or paste <br><code>firefox.exe "about:addons"</code>
In the left column, click '''Plugins'''. Set nonessential and unrecognized plugins to "Never Activate".
In the left column, click '''Extensions'''. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions. (Note: you might not be able to manually Disable extensions in Safe Mode because they are disabled automatically.)
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

Thanks. So multiple incorrect attempts to enter a password is the likely cause of this. Since I didn't make multiple incorrect attempts this suggests that someone else did, someone trying to hack into my account? And since this has happened many times I suppose someone is repeatedly trying to do this? Time to change to a very strong password then I suppose, unless you have any other ideas.
