That means it should have used your iTunes card credit = store Credit.

This means the iphone is disabled due to too many incorrect Passcode entries.
You our only option is to restore the device. Please note you will loose ALL info currently on the device.
To restore open iTunes on your computer. Plug your cable into the computer but not the phone. Now power down the iphone. once completely shut down, press and HOLD the home button and plug the cable into the phone and continue holding the home button until the itunes logo appears on the phone.
ITunes es will see the device in recovery mode and ask you to restore.
CLick restore and your good to go.

Mavericks is not recognizing the .smi extension - on my Mac it thinks it's a RealPlayer document. You are not going to be able to do anything with this - it requires AppleWorks to be present to be updated, and you can't run AppleWorks on Mavericks (other than by the rather roundabout process of installing Snow Leopard Server in Parallels and installing AppleWorks on that, as described here).

To ensure you don't lose any data you don't want taken off, ensure that each Summary, Apps, Music, Movies, TV Shows, Podcasts, iTunes U, Books, & Photos have the settings you would prefer on the computer.
If anything gets changed on any of those pages, you will be prompted with that message. If they look fine, especially after adding some media like songs or videos, then you can apply the changes without fear.

No, 10.5 still supports PPC. 10.6 supports Intel only.

You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘ Apple) keys together. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and it will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. Once you are safely connected go to the iPod Summary tab and make sure "manually manage music and videos" is checked:

Ambient light sensors are not always perfect in their function. To test, go into darkened room, with screen OFF, Locked, tap Home button. Look at screen it should be normal for use in darkened room, turn on bright lights, the screen should brighten to help compensate. If your iPhone does not do this, then Restore iPhone with current iTunes on your computer. See if better. If still problem, make Genius reservation or set up Service and take or send to Apple for resolution under Warranty.
