HT3748 adding a Exchange 2003 account to mail Mavericks

Need help, I can't connect my workmail (Exchange 2003) to my mail on my Macbook Air.
I hope somebody had the solution, because I think a lot of Businesses still use Exchange 2003.
Thanks in advance.

Please confirm the version of Mac OS X your Mac is really running. You mention Mavericks which is OS X 10.9, your profile says you have Mac OS X 10.8.5, and you've posted in the forum for Mac OS X 10.6. We'll need to know what version you really have before anyone can offer truly applicable suggestions.
Regards.

  • Cannot provision Exchange 2003 account in OIM 11gR2

    Hello,
I'm trying to provision Exchange 2003 accounts from OIM 11gR2 but I keep getting errors. My AD connector works and is able to reconcile and provision account and my Exchange connector is linked to it. I've understood that the only mandatory fields in the Exchange 2003 provisioning form are "mail store name" and "alias", so I've tested by only filling those. However, the provisioning does not complete and the logs show this error :

Are you using the version 9 or 11 of the connector? I've done more investigations with version 9 and realized that the DB is not correctly updated by the connector. I've reported the problem with Oracle and a bug has been open. Here are the details :
When reconciling or provisioning a mailbox, a new row is added in the OIU table. This row has "null" as its APP_INSTANCE_KEY. Manually setting the Exchange's app instance key as the value of this column solves the problem.
    Hope this helps!

  • Exchange 2003 Support in Mail

I cannot understand why iOS4 on iPhone fully supports Exchange 2003 and the Mail.app doesnt !
Why on earth can they not make both work !
Surely this is an oversight ?
Theres no way my company will be upgrading from Exchange 2003 to 2007 soon. And they will not enable IMAP either.
I prefer not to buy Entourage.
    Anyone ? Thks

I would just like to add to this - our NHS MS Exchange is 2003 - no likelihood of upgrade in the near future. This is dreadful - I did buy the Mac because it was said Exchange connection was simple - not realising 2007 was not backwards compatible. My Office Home 2008 for Mac is no use and I am faced with a £400 upgrade to Office Pro. Sorry Apple - we do need a fix that does the job for Mac Mail and does not involve the use of more Microsoft Office software on the Mac. PS - my niece has a similar problem with her University e.mail - must be a really widespread issue.

  • Connecting Exchange 2003 to Apple Mail on Mac OS 10.5.8

Having trouble connecting apple mail to Microsoft exchange server 2003 on this Mac. Currently Entourage is in use (Office 2004) and working. Apple Support and our IT man have tried to solve it together, filling in all relevant fields of the account information. The only questionable field was "Outlook Web Access Server" which we first left blank then filled in later. This should work but does not. Resulting in mail sitting in the outbox while trying to send. Connection Doctor confirms that "Mail was unable to connect to the internet" while both the "Incoming Exchange" and "Mail Server" are trying to connect to the server. Anyone got any clues.
NB we don't have an "Outlook Web Access Server".
    Steve

owa must be enabled on Exchange server, also entourage use the same protocol (http and webdav, if entourage works OWA is yet enabled)
OWA is a feature integrated in exchange 2003.
what address you set on mail client like exchange server? is an ip address or you use a URL?
there is only one ex2003 or you have many servers in your infrastructure?

  • Exchange 2003 and Mac Mail (leopard) Mac Os 10.5.8

I am a new mac user....my school uses Microsoft Exchange 2003 and I can access my school account from the web using Outlook Web Access 2003. I am trying to consolidate and get my school account to my mail on my macbook....I know all of my server info as I get my email on my phone, but I am not getting anything to work on my macbook..... any ideas?

I have exchange 2003 at school(and outlook web access from internet) and I am trying to get it to show up directly into the mail part of my mac book.... I am not a techie, obviously, but when I try to add the account, I had been using Exchange instead of IMAP and POP.... The exchange process didn't work so then I actually did try IMAP and POP, but maybe the incoming outgoing server should be different than what I am putting in.... I can receive outlook (school email, contacts, etc) on my samsung blackjack so I thought there wouldn't be much to it, but obviously I am doing something wrong and I should just talk to my school

  • Exchange 2003 and Mac Mail

I have set up a work email account in Mac Mail using IMAP (the mail is stored on an internal server - Exchange 2003).
An issue has come to light where when I send messages with large attachments they DON'T go into sent items in Mail or into the exchange server. I should say that occasionally they do go into sent but more often they do not.
If I send messages with no or a small attachments then it DOES go into the sent items on both the Mac and the exchange server.
Can someone please help with this one?
    Many thanks

HI. I had the same problem while trying to migrate a user from Exchange 2003 to 2010. And the same error as you have appeared. I tried to skip more e-mails in case some fails but couldn't get successful.
Check if the user have accessed the mail at all on Exchange 2003 because if the user didn't accessed it it may contain many mails and when we try to migrate the mailbox, the mailbox size on Exchange 2003 may be grater than on the 2010.
On my case after many reading we just see that the user didn't access the mail at all on our Exchange 2003. (Let me know if you need to know how you can check if the user accessed the mail or not or you can just google it). So what we have done is we just
reset the user password on Active Directory. Because as you can see the error is related with Logon Failure.
This solved the issue for me. Can you check this way
    Thanks

  • Can't send replies using Exchange 2003 account - smtp works fine if I type an address?

We have new IPad users trying to connect to an Exchange 2003 Mail Server.  Everything works well EXCEPT if they try to REPLY TO any message - it brings up a generic "check your mail settings" error every time.
If we compose mail by hand, it sends OK
If we use a contact, send mail to them, it works fine.
We also have IPad users connected to a 2010 Exchange Server, no such problems.
Anyone have similar issues?  Any advice on a fix?

I've got 38 iPhones deployed running the 3.1.2 OS against an Exchange 2007 server. Several of my users complain about the same issue, and I've seen it myself. I have found a workaround of sorts - I've found that if I've sent a message with an attachment and I get a failure to send, if I manually browse down to the Sent Items folder, that forces a replication of the Sent Items. The next time I do a manual sync, the e-mail with the attachment will go.
I presume this has something to do with Exchange trying to put a copy of the e-mail in to your Sent Items at the same time the iPhone is trying to send the message.
Potentially, this might be solved by turning off the option to always store your sent e-mails in the Sent Items. I have not yet tested that as a workaround as from a corporate standpoint and an ease-of-use standpoint, we want that e-mail in the Sent Items for reference.
If anyone has any success with this fix, please let me know.

  • Adding Windows Live Hotmail account to Mail

    Hi all
I've successfully set up my GMAIL account with Mail and everything is working fine. I'd now like to link my Hotmail account with Mail too. After clicking "File" --> "Add account.." and entering my Hotmail address and password, I am presented with security warning that the identify of "hotmail.com" can't be verified and am asked if I want to trust "lc2.bay0.hotmail.passport.com" when connecting to "hotmail.com".
I assume that it is probably safe if I DO trust the certificate and hence the problem may be solved, but just wanted to double-check before I selected anything.
Apologies if this may seem like a minor issue to you but this is my first Mac and I've only had it for a day!
    Thanks in advance.
P.S. I would post a screenshot but it seems like images cannot be uploaded on this forum.

    Hi,
I had the same problem and yes, I clicked on 'I trust the certificate'. The below link helped me set up my hotmail account in imail. I hope it works for you too.

  • Adding Mobile Me email account to Mail.

I've been trying to add my MobileMe (or .mac) account to Mail for days both manually and using the automatic set up but keep getting the message:
+"The MobileMe IMAP server "mail.mac.com" is not responding. Try checking the network connection and that the server name is correct. Otherwise, the server might be temporarily unavailable. If you continue, you might not be able to receive messages."+
I have tried continuing but can't send or receive messages.
    Any ideas?

    Hi.
Would this be the only account in Mail? or would there be others?
If it is the only one, you may want to try trashing Mail's preference file which is located in:
    user->library->preferences and is called com.apple.mail.plist
This should reset mail so you can try again.

  • Mail is running slow after adding an Exchange account

I recently added an Exchange 2007 account to Mail in addition to 2 other accounts; MobileMe and Gmail. Since then, Mail has been very slow to respond to all interaction. While in the middle of typing, it will pause and then catch up to all my keystrokes. Clicking on a message takes a few seconds to get any response as well. This all goes for any email account, Exchange, Gmail, MobileMe.
I have tried rebuilding the mailboxes. Not sure what else I can try. Is this a common occurrence? Does is matter much that I have over 24,000 messages?

Seems like this process worked out. I copied over the Mail folder in Library >Application Support, replaced Mail in Library and com.apple.mail.plist in Preferences. Feels much better <3
I'm thinking Mail just had enough after years of adding and deleting several email accounts. I also think Apple had changed the manner in which data is stored for Mail. The folder structures and file locations don't appear to be the same in the two user accounts.

  • Multiple exchange accounts in Mail

I have just added two "Exchange 2007" accounts to Mail 4.5. I run Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
The problem is that Mail messes up which account folders and messages belong to. For instance, both folders lists contains the same folders, but they (obviously) should not. The folders in one account is empty, as that account doesn't even have a folder by that name.
I know I have received messages to one account (the one with the empty folders), but the "Inbox" shows as empty. This was the first account of the two that I added. It worked fine until I added the second account.
    How can I solve this?
    Thanks!

Let me name the accounts for easier reference.
I added LT first, which worked.
Then I added CS which worked, but caused LT to not work.
I tried removing the LT account, and adding it again. It didn't help at all.
So I quit Mail. Opened ~/Library/Mail and removed the EWS folder for the LT account.
    Opened Mail again.
Now the account LT works just fine, but the account CS stopped working. The CS account now has no messages and no folders (in Mail).
Correction: The CS account has no folders, but do have messages in the Inbox
