On the printer driver documentation, Page 5, in the Imaging setting, although the options are not specifically shown, there should be an option on that screen of the print driver to click and select "B/W" or 'black and white' or 'grayscale' or 'monochrome' as Print Mode rather than the "Full Color" option shown in the illustration below.
You access these settings once you have selected 'Print' from an app.
If necessary, you might need to click on the 'Down arrow' button next to the printer name (OS X 10.6), or 'Show Details' button at the bottom of the print dialog box (OS X 10.8) to see additional settings.

OK, solved my own problem, but am posting here in case someone else has the same problem. It totally does not make sense, especially considering that it stopped after I reinstalled Lion, but the good thing is I have my files back.
I scoured the web and found a lot of other people are having the same problem. Most of them didn't have a clue how to fix it. This discussion was the most helpful to me: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2569766?start=30&tstart=90
So, I went to the WD page and followed the instructions. The first suggestion was to plug it directly into a wall, because it may not be getting enough power from a power cord. I did this and it fixed the problem. Who would have guessed?

Cannot work out how to get correct printed colours

I'm having major problems geting prints from Aperture that are correct.
Under Leopard I had no problem using ColorMunki generated profiles. Prints were beautiful from my HP B9180.
I upgraded to Snow Leopard and nothing prints even close.
I am using that latest ColorMunki software, HP driver that was updated via Software Updates and Aperture 2.1.4.
I am sure that I am setting something wrong in either one of the print dialogs, either when creating a profile or when printing.
One thing I have noticed is that when printing via ColorMunki, the HP print dialog has a section called Color Matching, the HP print dialog in Aperture does not.
Any ideas would be helpful.

I've been experimenting some more, and I believe that I've found a partial solution.

The prints that I now get are a bit darker than I would like, but I assume that I can use the Gamma to change that.
The images that I printed under 10.5 were excellent and did not require any tweaking, which is the situation I would like to be in again.
I tried leaving Black Point Compensation on, but the images produced have a very Magenta tinge to them.
Luckily I have a full backup of my Leopard install, so I have the option to revert to that if I cannot find an adequate solution to this.

Apparently not. I have both an iPhone 4 and an iPad thatbive upgraded to iOS 5.0.1. While it is reported that if you click on the attached video file and hold that you will be presented a "Save Video" option, all I see is "Quick Look". You can change the default download location by going to ''Tools > Options > General''. The [[Options window - General panel]] has some extra information on all of the options available.

Assuming you have iMovie 11 (also known as Version 9.0.4), here is how you do it. (If you have a different version, let me know. The instructions will be different).
First, get an app called MPEG Streamclip, which is free. (google MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5)
Open MPEG Streamclip.
In iMovie, select the clip you need. Then, right-click/Reveal in Finder.
Drag this clip into MPEG Streamclip
In MPEG Streamclip, move the playhead to the frame you want.
In MPEG Streamclip, click FILE/EXPORT FRAME.
Choose JPEG, TIFF, or PNG and give it a name.
You can then use this photo in Photoshop, Pixelmator, Acorn, or the app of your choice to add text.
Here is a demo I made the other day for how to extract the still image using MPEG Streamclip.

Yes it is done through iTunes. The iPhone will never show up in Finder as a device. When I try to send something from my iPad pages via email to be opened on my desktop in Pages, it won't open in Pages. I get a message that it can't be opened because the version is too old. I sent the document as a PDF and it worked. But I want to be able to use Pages back and forth. HOw do I update the Pages version on my desktop iMac?

The file format used by the iOS versions of the iWork apps can only be read by the new iWork apps on your Mac - i.e. Keynote 6, Pages 5 & Numbers 3. Those versions for the Mac require Mavericks, OS X 10.9. The "too old" error on a Mac comes if you are trying to open an iWork '08 or earlier file in the newest apps. If you do have the newest apps you can open the files from your iPad.
If you can't or don't want to upgrade to Mavericks & the newest iWork apps your best option would be to export/share the files from the iPad to a type an older version of iWork can read such as Word, text, Excel, etc.
Or contact AppleCare. They made this mess, let them fix it.

Just need to plug the TC in to the hub in bridge mode.. do not try and bridge the homehub.. it is not possible with the setup BT uses.
To bridge the TC.. plug it directly into a computer by ethernet.. no other connection to the TC or the computer.
Press and hold in reset until the front LED flashes rapidly.. about 10sec.
Release the reset.
Open the airport utility and setup the TC to bridge mode.
The actual method depends on version of the OS and airport utility you use.
This is version 5.
Sorry I cannot post the v6 as I am on a snow leopard computer now. But you go to the network tab, and choose off bridge mode for method of connection. It will be NAT and dhcp by default.
Then setup wireless.. you have a number of choices here.
Either setup with the same SSID Security and password, as the homehub uses.. or a different name, and password..
Each method works fine.. but you sometimes have issues with wireless channels.. for now leave it on auto and see what happens.. if you have issues lock down the radio channels on both devices.. use one out of the following on each, 1, 6, 11 or 13 in UK.. so say 6 on the homehub then 13 onthe TC.
Update the TC.. unplug fromt the computer and plug it into the homehub.
If you have other issues with the setup tell us what OS you run so we can post suitable screenshots.

I have verified the sharing folder and also the remote access but it not let me turn it off.

I am receiving emails saying that I have sent emails to people that I do not know and including in a time where I am working and not using the computer.

With the multitude of issues you have I would take it to an Apple store or AASP and have them sort it out. Then I would sign up for Apple camp or one on one.

By "sending" do you mean sending email?
If so, what app are you using to take the photos on your iPhone 5? Or are the photos from a different source (saved to your Camera Roll from somewhere else, like a web page or Messages)?
My guess is that Mail gives you the option to send different file sizes when it detects you are trying to Mail a really large photo file. The size of photos on the iPhone 5 is really big and some email providers may stop your mail from being delivered if attachments are too large. Thus, Mail tries to help you by offering to resize the photo.
I suspect that if you are sending smaller files, Mail does not bother giving you options to save a smaller version. In fact, I have seen this behavior. So, if the photo is already "small enough", it gets sent as-is.
To my knowledge, there is no global iOS setting for this. Some apps may have different rules, of course.

It sounds like you are wanting to update the Apps that were synced over from your computer to your new iPhone 5s. If you are clicking Updates in the App Store in the bottom right corner, would you mind clarifying what happens when you are trying to update them?
