HT3775 I am trying to open a MPEG video clip using Quick time and it wont allow me, keeps saying a 'codec' is required. So i go to 'tell me more' have downloaded Quicktime numerous times and it still wont let me open it! Im confused. Can anyone help?

Hi when I open iPhoto it's says "What photo library do you want to use" Have I lost all my photos? I don't know what to do here can anyone help please?
Is there an item named "iPhoto Library.photo library" or similar in your "Pictures" folder, showing with an icon like a fan of pictures?
Or did you store your iPhoto Library in a different folder, perhaps on an external drive?

Download and use Find Any File to search for a file named "iPhoto6.Library". It's a file unique to all iPhoto libraries.
FAF an search areas that Spotlight can't like invisible folders, packages and system files. If there's another iPhoto library hiding somewhere on your hard drive FAF will find it.

My iTunes card won't redeem and when I try to it comes up with this "The gift certificate or prepaid card code you entered has not been properly activated. Please contact iTunes Store costumer support for assistance" can anyone help me?
Is the store that you bought the card from nearby so that you can try going back and asking if they can activate the card properly ? If it's not, or if they can't/won't activate, then you will need to do as the message says and contact iTunes Support (these are user-to-user forums) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then iTunes Cards And Codes (you will probably need to give them images of the front and back of the card, and possibly its receipt)

I have updated regularly and followed all instructions to solve the problems related to the constant freezes, app closes and misfires on certain apps as well as all other operating problems, but all I get is a problem. I have been trying to fix this by myself and now I am feeling like I need to go to a different tablet. I love my iPad 2, but this iOS update has brought me nothing but grief. Every time it ray to access my Netflix account, it will lock me out or ask me to sign in again, I will be playing a game and then it will open other apps randomly. I have reloaded the apps, restarted the iPad and followed all other procedures. So tell me why I should stay with apple. It is an annoying problem to have with a 500$ piece of tech that is for my enjoyment AND school. It boggles my mind that as soon as Steve Jobs leaves this earth, so does the greatness of Apple and it turns into another company that no longer cares about beta testing a new software. Advice from a consumer, wait a little longer and double test the product before unleashing it onto a public that just wants working technology. If you want me to shell out over 1500$ for a laptop, or 600$ for a tablet, then you have to be better than say Microsoft or Google. Can anyone help?
Have you tried, "resets" ??
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

Can't download update 5.0.1 to my iPad2. I disabled all security items in fact have deleted them from computer, but the download still times out advising check settings but all is set right? Can any one help with this matter?

I downloaded itunes. It initially indicated that the download was successful, however, when I click the itunes icon, it says "ituns was not installed properly". It then gives me the message "itunes has stopped working"
Not completely sure. But if you think it is an iTunes issue...... follow through this: Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

I have just upgraded my iphone 4 to version 4.3.3. The upgrade was successful but I cannot use anymore those applications (e.g. facebook, google) which I downloaded from the Appstore. I tap on an app, I can see it opens itself but the screen changes to black for a few moments and after that it returns to the homescreen. But when I open the bottom line as i want to see the running apps, it shows that it is running. The applications which were already on the phone when I bought it (e.g. messages, mail, camera, youtube), are working correctly.
I tried to turn it off and on but nothing happens. I'm afraid to reset the phone to the original factory settings because I don't want to loose all my contacts and settings.
Please help me what can I do!Well, I finally found the solution. I deleted two applications from the phone and downloaded them again from the Appstore, and they worked. But not only these 2, all of them.
I also uploaded some ringtones and syncronized the phone but I don't think these were the solutions. -
As I've already mentioned, I can't connect to iTunes or the App Store, the same message appears every time: "Cannot connect to the iTunes Store". I downloaded a few apps before I connected my iPad Mini to my Computer. I started doing an update that was about 9 or 10 hours long, somewhere around that time, and I unplugged it about halfway through the update and since then I've not been able to get onto iTunes or the App Store. I checked to see if I could continue the update but when I looked on iTunes again, no updates appeared. On my iPod Touch 4th Generation, everything works absolutely fine and it is logged into the same Apple ID. I've tried resetting my Network Settings, logging into someone else's Apple ID, connecting to a different Wifi, changing the DNS settings to 8.8.8.8, rebooting my Computer and iPad and changing the HTTP Proxy to Auto. Is there anything else I could try or am I just overlooking something? I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out here, thanks!
Can you connect to a wifi source on the device? Enable wifi in settings on the device itself. If you don't have wifi at home, there may be a local hotspot you can use for this.
The reason this happens is carriers don't want people downloading huge files that would slow their network as well as eat up your data plan. -
Can someone tell me how to view a downloaded videos or TV series, "Being Liverpool". I bought it through iTunes and downloaded it. I can only view the first few seconds of each series. Thanks. Robin
you should be able to view it through iTunes or maybe VLC (video Lan Client). press
Command F and do a search for "being Liverpool". It should be on your hard drive somewhere. do a "get info " on the file to see how big it is, hopefully big enough. If it doesn't appear at all, or is small, maybe it didn't download successfully. Usually you may be able to choose where your files are downloaded to. in which case, maybe login at the iTunes store, click on help. they may have a section on what to do if your video didn't download successfully even though you bought it. It should show up when you login to your iTunes account.

After the last update of itunes I seem to have lost all the music that I had downloaded from my Cds. It was a lot of music! All I still have is the music that I had purchased in the itunes store. And before you asked. No, I did not have a backup. Never got around to do it.
Does anyone of you have an idea if and how I can maybe get my music back?

I was prompted to update to iPhoto 11 yesterday (don't know why yesterday, I'm in iPhoto all the time). So I followed the instructions, library updated, all existing events and albums are there. I uploaded some more pictures and created a few new albums and did some new year spring cleaning, moving stuff around etc. And I started making a calendar.
I've opened it up today, my calendar is still there as are all the new events, but the pictures are empty outlines. If I open up a picture I just get the "!" but I can still see the thumbnails showing in the slider in the bottom - I don't know if that means the source files must still be there somewhere, or if it just means it captured thumbnails yesterday.
I've gone into it via "show package contents" and there just don't seem to be any masters for an upload yesterday. I also just had a look in the last import folder, because of a comment from someone above. As I scrolled down through the folder the images were there and literally disappeared in front of me - by which I mean, the thumbnails were there as I scrolled down and then would turn into empty outlines...!
All my old folders are still there, thankfully (although they're of course the ones that are also all safely back up).
Although I have a timecapsule, my photo library is too big to keep on my hard drive, so I keep it on an external drive - so it only gets backed up when I do it manually (thanks Apple for that, I will never understand why it was designed to work - or not work - that way). So if the pictures have been lost then they are gone for good which is super-frustrating (I just got back from South Korea and was in the middle of sorting out all my shots from that trip). It seems that this can only have happened because of the update - I should have known better than to have pressed yes.
If you have any ideas, I'd be most grateful!
