If you have the horizontal menu bar showing (File, Edit, View,...), select View, then select Show Sidebar.
If the menu bar is not showing, dorp down the menu in the very upper left corner and select show menu bar, then follow steps above.

You might consider itunes match for moving CDs you've copied into your itunes library if you dont have a way to use home sharing.
iTunes match is an optional service offered by apple that costs about $25 a year. It scans your music library and if it finds music that is already in apple's itunes catalog it'll automatically "unlock"/"store" these in the cloud for you. Populate drop-down list from multiple text fields.

Just to begin, I am brand new to this application and brand new to coding in general. Anyways, this is what I am trying to accomplish. I need to populate a drop-down list from multiple text fields. I am able to populate one item using this in the calculate event:
TextField1.rawValue
After I type text in TextField1 and hit enter, it displays the text in the drop-down list. I need to do this but with more than just one text field to populate more options for the drop-down list. I will also need to do something similar with populating a drop-down list from selections made in multiple other drop-down lists.

Thank you for your suggestion Geo Kaiser. With that, I was able to populate my drop-down lists, but now when I select an option from the drop-down list, the selection dissapears. The selection will appear briefly in the box but then dissapears although my drop-down list options remain there. Here is the code I am using for my text field to drop-down list:
DropDownList1.clearItems()
DropDownList1.addItem(TextField1)
DropDownList1.addItem(TextField2)
And here is my code for my drop-down list to populate another drop-down list:
DropDownList3.clearItems()
DropDownList3.addItem(DropDownList1)
DropDownList3.additem(DropDownList2)

I have set up home sharing on both of my computers but neither one is showing that they are connected to the other computer?

I have all the right buttons clicked and have looked at tons of help pages but neither computer is registering that this one is on the same home share network. There is no shared folder option. Therefore I can't get any of my old music onto my new laptop. Help

Is both computer on the same local network?
Is both computer iTunes authorize with the same AppleID (iTunes menu Store)?
Is Mac iTunes menu Advanced > Turn On Home Sharing, On? (Same AppleID again)

That's a kernel panic and indicates some sort of problem either with the computer's hardware or software. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on diagnosing kernel panics. It would help to post the panic log: Mac OS X- How to log a kernel panic.
Meanwhile, try booting the computers into Safe Mode then restarting normally. If this is simply a disk repair or cache file problem then this may fix it.
You can also try creating a new admin account on each computer then booting into the new account. This would help determine if the problem is related to a bad file in the user accounts.

When I use "tabs from other computers," some of the tabs from the other computer show (7/11) and others don't, and going the other way, it keeps showing some tabs that have been closed.

Desktop is running Windows XP and laptop is using Windows 7. Both have the latest version of Firefox.
I press the Synch buttom before I press the "show tabs" button.

I think I may have solved the problem. I cleared the cache, and then the old tabs no longer appeared. I think the ones that weren't showing were tabs that were already on the other computer.
Haven't yet checked thoroughly.
I can't upgrade easily because I have HughesNet, which limits downloads. Last time I downloaded Windows upgrade to my laptop, I went over the limit and got slowed down to slower than dial-up. And as mentioned in question, I *did* press Synch Now before asking for tabs.
Also, if I did all the upgrades that various pieces of software want me to do, I'd have no time to get any work done.

Where is this example spreadsheet? Without seeing it I can only guess at what you are asking.
To make a drop-down list (a pop-up menu in Numbers-speak), format the cell as a pop-up then edit and add to the list of items.
If the example spreadsheet is pulling in a dollar value based on what car you chose in the pop-up, it is probably using LOOKUP or one of the other lookup functions, getting the information from another table (a lookup table). If, instead, these dollar values are what you are choosing in the pop-up, then you need to create a pop-up with these values in it.
The Help menu includes a link to a page where you can download the Numbers Users Manual. It also has a link to the Formulas and Functions guide. Both are useful to new users.

HT1420 The other computer that is authorized died and is no longer in my house. How can I deauthorize it?

I want to authrize my new macbook but it won't let me and I have no way of deauthorizing the other computer.

You'll need to de-authorise them all from your account settings.
Note: get into the habit of de-authorising from the computer when you have no further use for authorisation, you can only de-authorise all your computers once every so often.

Can't get migration assistant to find the other computer

Tried to use Migration Assistant, but its help is pretty skimpy. Regardless of options chosen, neither computer could find the other. Should both computers be on with MA, or first one then the other? Really couldn't find any protocol.
They do have different account names and passwords, is that the issue?
G5 to G5 connected by firewire, tried working from either end, old to new, new to old neither way does the other computer get "found".

After connecting the two computers by FireWire cable you must boot one (the old one) into Target Disk Mode. Then boot the other normally. The "old" computer's disk drive should appear on the "new" computer's Desktop. You may then us Migration Assistant to transfer from old to new.
Your new computer's user account that you created will need to have a different short name than the one you plan to import via MA as MA will not overwrite an existing account. If this is no longer feasible then consider moving your data manually.

In your /Home/Library/ folder:

Hi,
Firefox Sync works by merging all the info in all your computers. It doesn't replace anything. So if you have information A in one device and information B in other device, after setting up Sync you will have information A+B in both devices.

so i have home share and followed the directions correctly. i can see both computers on itunes while looking at each individual one. on my new computer though when i go to click on the other computer library it just sits there a few minutes and looks like its gonna load with the load bar on top than just stops. Also,its in a constant load now saying checking for new purchases. i dont know what is wrong.
