HT4059 can I archive books on my iPad?

I love reading on my new iPad but with a growing number of books, I would like to be able to archive those I've read.  I could do this on my Nook & was surprised when I couldn't find a way on the iPad.....anyone know of a way?  Thanks...

You can delete them from your iPad via the Edit button at the top right of the bookshelf in the iBooks app, and as long as they remain in the store then you can re-download them via the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the iBooks app - but you may first want to copy them to the Books section of your computer's iTunes library via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases so that you have your own copy of them that you can then sync back to the iPad.

Can I share books in my iBooks library with other iPhone or iPad users? If so how?

ibooks (and other content from iTunes) are tied to your account, and there is not currently a way to lend or transfer content to another account - so unless they have access to your account then no, you can't share.

  • How can I get the book box in preferences' general tab to show up so I can start adding books to my ipad?

How can I get the book box in preferences' general tab to show up so I can start adding books to my ipad? I am running OSX 10.9 and Itunes version 11.1.3(8) 64 bit.  I have tried re-installing Maveriks and reinstalling Itunes but the box for books is never there when I click on Preferences' General Tab.
I am unsure what to do.  Please help.

There is no "book box in preferences' general".
There is a new iBooks application that appears on Mavericks' dock.  It looks like this:
Go there to add books from your Mac to your iPad.

  • Can you read books on the ipad in direct sunlight

can you read books on the ipad in direct sunlight ?

Not very easily no. If you can get a non-reflective screen cover it might be a bit better, but it probably still won't be as good as, for example, a Kindle device is.

Can I delete books from my iBooks account?

Yes, you can delete books from iPad and from all your OS devices.
Open iBooks, select the list display, not the bookshelves display, then click on Edit at top right. Highlight the title to be deleted and "tick" the button to the left of the selected title. Then simply click the red Delete button at the top left. You will be given two delete options, so just select the one you require.
    Trust this helps.

  • HT4059 I downloaded a book on my iPad but I can not find it. I thought there would be an icon on my app pages for the book but there is not. Where do I go to get the book?

I purchased an I book for the first time and now I can not find it. I thought it would bean icon on my apps page. Where did it go"?

How/where did you buy it ? If it's an ibook from Apple then you can only download and read them in the iBooks app on an iPad - if you have the iBooks app on your iPad, and that book doesn't show on the bookshelf in the app, then you should be able to redownload it via the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the app.

  • I can share iTunes, I can share apple tv can we share books from one iPad to another in the family

My daughter has downloaded a book to her iPhone, I should be able to download it to my iPad without having to pay again but I can't figure out how?

These are user-to-user forums, you are not talking to Apple here.
Audiobooks (and ringtones) are currently a one-time only download. I believe that they are all supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them who are requiring the one-time only download restriction. To get it onto your other devices you will need to sync it via a computer. Depending upon what country that you are in, Audible.com have their own app (Audiobooks from Audible) so you might be able to buy direct from them, though I don't know whether you can buy within their app or download audiobooks directly from them within the app e.g. whether they need to be copied via a computer.

  • How can I remove books from my Ipad "Kindle" and put them back into Icloud "archieve"

I have purchased a mini Ipad and loaded up Kindle.  How can I remove the books I've read from my device and move them back to Icloud archieve?

The following info is included with the current version for the Kindle app.
Cloud shows all items in your Kindle library.
Device shows items you have downloaded.
Tap an item to download it from the cloud.
Press and hold an item to remove it from your device.

  • How can I read books on my iPad 1?

I have an old IPad 1 and can't find a book reader app that I can load, on this old operating system.

Download the apps to iTunes on your computer. Once downloaded you can go to the purchased section in the App Store on the iPad and download a compatible version.
5.1.1 is the highest iOS for an original iPad, and I think most book reader apps need at least 4.3, so you might have to upgrade the iOS.

  • How can I get books on my iPad that I already purchased in person without paying for them again?

I have a lot of paperback books that I'd like to upload onto my iPad, but I don't want to buy them AGAIN in the iBooks store. Is there any way I can get them onto my iPad for free?

Thanks, I was hoping for something a little more selective that I could do from my computer, but I think this is helpful.
Maybe the best approach to get this under control is:
    - Import all photos into iphoto
    - Delete all photos per your suggestion
    - Selectivly sync the photos you want put back on your phone
Thanks again, I didn't know this and is a helpful trick!
P.S. I still wouldn't mind finding a way to selectively delete files that are on my iphone from my computer.  (In Windows, you can go to My Computer -> Iphone, open the folder and delete what you want).

  • Can't open books in iBooks (iPad 2) -

    Hi
I downloaded a few books to iBooks app, but can't open them to read.
    I have tried
    1. Deleting the app and reload again.
    2. Syn with Mac
See below image, when i tab the book that is downloaded, it just show the sample content but not the book..
    Any suggestion
    Thanks
    Kim

You need to tap the Library button at the top left of that screen to go back to the bookshelf in the app, which si where your downloaded (and/or books synced from your computer) should show - the screen that you are on allows you to select which of your past purchases to download into the app, to read it you need to be on the bookshelf in the app. (When you are viewing the bookshelf in the app you will have Store button top left instead of Library, so that you can go back to the store.)

  • HT1296 Can a Kindel book run on iPad?

I once downloaded a Kindel app from the app store then deleted it. Do I need it tto read KINDEL FORMATED BOOK ON IPAD...?

I think the app is only needed to download books from Kindle. If you have a book from Kindle, see if it opens. If not you may have to redownload the app.
