Which format does ibooks use?

if you follow iLife's intended workflow, I don't see any of the huzzle you mention (?)....:
a) iM is for miniDV.. it copies (=lossless transfer) from miniDV... there's no conversion, as long as you use SD, not HiDef.. and it is NOT intended to import 'foreign' containers as avi...
b) as long as the iM project is located in the 'Movies' folder, there's no export/conversion/whatever... needed. iDVD detects any content there automatically, with a snap of a click ...
c) to create a standard videoDVD, there HAS to be a time consuming encoding process, 'cause these standards asks for muxxed mpeg2.. = computation... and, with your help (=maintain system, keep min. 20GB free on system disk, size of your wallet for purchasing überMac etc), this process is fast. plus, using the themes, or using a self-created theme gives your DVDs a professional touch ...
Plan B)
get any HDD/DVD standalone corder (I'm using one...); import from camera, the encoding & burning process is on such machines hardware accelerated.. it creates a DVD of a 90min movie in less than 5min .. (import, for sure, in realtime...); plus those devices offers rural editing options.. the DVD menus are ugly..

  • Which system does Muse use to make the contact form widget work?

    Hello,
    I am a graphic designer working with a coder to create a new website using Muse. My coder has asked me which system does Muse use to make the contact form widget work.  Looking at the page code it looks like ASP dot net and when the user clicks the button the form data is sent to a script called “FormProcessv2.aspx”. If this is the case which version?  (e.g. ASP 1.0 or 2.0 or 3.0) Does Muse use “dot net” or “.NET” or similar in the documentation? If so then does it say which version (e.g. 1.0 or 2.0)?
    Can anyone help me with these questions?
    Many Thanks
    Emma

    It's unclear what page URL/code you're looking at? Muse does not use ASP. Muse uses PHP for form processing and relies on PHP sendMail to send the form information as an e-mail.

  • Which compiler does JDeveloper use?

    When I try to compile (rebuild) a file I get "Fatal Error: compiler internal error". This file compiles just fine when I use javac.exe that came with jdk1.3. I have set up the jdk1.3 as instructed in the JDeveloper 3.2.2 release notes. In an effort to determine which compiler is being used, I have renamed all javac.exe files on my entire system and also ojc.exe. I would think that this would keep the file from compiling at all, but I can still do a "rebuild".
    So I really have 2 questions:
    Where is JDeveloper finding a compiler?
    How can I resolve this fatal error?
    Any advice would be appreciated.

    How does weblogic determine which DDL to use when          > creating JMS persistent store?
              The DDL is stored in the weblogic.jar, and a particular DDL is chosen automically based on driver meta-data.
              Version 9.0 (out in beta), provides the option of administratively configuring the DDL file location.
              For unsupported drivers, versions prior to 9.0 require manually running a DDL file to create the JDBC store's backing tables (see JMS doc).

  • Which form does IDM use?

    For reconciliation, I put in a criteria within the form of the recon admin to check if the status is equal to Termination or not, if so then disable it. If not terminated then put the users in their appropriate organization.
    <Disable>
    <eq>
    <ref>global.status</ref>
    <s>T</s>
    </eq>
    </Disable>
    Everything is fine. All the non-terminated users were in their appropriate organization. The problem is for all the Terminated ones, they were still being created except that they were put outside of the organization.
    I wonder what form does IDM use to create these Terminated users because the form of the recon admin has been disabled already.
    Thanks

  • What clipboard format does InDesign use?

    I would like to copy data into InDesign from the clipboard. What is the format I should use and do you have sample data I can test?
    Here is my code so far that does not work:
    var data:String = "<paragraph>test</paragraph>";
    Clipboard.generalClipboard.setData("IDMS", data);

    This looks like a scripting question to me, so I've moved it to the scripting forum...

  • Audio files taking up too much room- which format should I use?

    I bought a 32GB iphone so that I would be able to put a decent amount of music on it, but it seems to be eating the memory space. Itunes says I have 2GB of audio, but I only have 214 tracks (average 3-4 minute songs). Compared to my Creative Zen player the files are three times the size, and I can't tell much differece in the audio quality, so it seems a bit ridiculous. Is this something to do with Apple plus, and please can anyone recommend which format will give me decent quality music without taking up so much space? I'm guessing I'll have to delete the old files from itunes and copy them again in a different quality?
    Message was edited by: Jai.

    Go to the Summary Tab with the iPhone connected, and select the 'convert to 128 mbps' option, that will reduce the files size automatically for you when music is loaded on the iPhone. No need to delete the music from the iPhone first.

  • Which port does Safari use for web browsing directly on Mac

    In our intranet network, clients both using proxy or directly connect to internet is OK, but when we disable UDP port upwards 10000, Mac users can not connect to internet without seting proxy, and Windows user is no problem on this. How could this be, wich port does safari use when browsing web

    Should be using Port 80 (HTTP).

  • Flip Camera files in FCP. Which format should I use?

    hi Everyone!
    I own a flip camera which gives me mp4 files 1280x720.
    I does not seem to work fine with FCP.
    I would like to convert them. What is the best format to use in FCP if I want to keep the 1280x720 format without to much quality loss?
    Thank you very much.

    Yes. I have the file on my hardrive.
    Again the format is as follows.
    Mpeg 4, 1280*720, 30 mbps.
    I have the free software Mpeg streamclip to convert them in any format I want.
    As I am a newbie I do not know which one to choose.
    I just want to stick to 1280*720 and work as smoothly as possible in FCP without to much quality loss.

  • Which SSD does Apple use?

    I've been trying to figure out which SSD drive Apple installs in their 128GB and 256GB SSD options on the MBPs (all screen sizes, I'm assuming it's the same drive). Does anyone know the manufacturer and model number of those drives? I'd like to find some benchmarks for them.
    I've seen a word about them being Toshiba, but It'd be great if an owner of a machine that has them could confirm.
    Cheers,
    ldoogy.

    Don't pay Apple's price for a SSD, especially not if you want to know what drive you'll be getting. Buy a stock MBP and replace its hard drive yourself with a SSD of your own choosing, at the best price you can find for it. You'll probably save more than a hundred dollars (maybe much more), you'll have the factory hard drive to use for backup or extra storage, and you may get a much faster drive than Apple would provide. And you'll get the manufacturer's warranty, which may be longer than Apple's.

  • Which router does iTunes use?

    When I play iTunes over my network with a computer in my office (which
    is where my Airport Extreme is), it pretty much works flawlessly sending
    the music to my Airport Express in the other room (which has speakers hooked to it). But if I use the same MacBook in the kitchen, near the Airport Express,
    the music drops out repeatedly.
    So does my MacBook first connect to the Airport Extreme, and then the
    signal is sent to the Airport Express? Or does the MacBook use the
    closest connection?
    Thanks,
    Paul

    Possible. I would re-do the setup on the airport express using the airport utility and make sure the airport express is set to join the network and not to extend the network.

  • What file format does Pages use?

    Allow me to explain:
    I have recently downloaded Scrivener and it tells me that I cannot use the Pages documents which I have started because it doesn't accept the file format and that Pages is peculiar to Apple. I would like to use Scrivener to work on my documents as a research tool and somewhere to organise my stuff. I then want to take the end result to Pages for further reading and editing.
    At the moment I have downloaded Scrivener onto a Macbook Air and Pro. Both are running Pages and Mavericks.

    You have to use the export menu in Pages to create a format that Scrivener can read, like .doc.   Pages can then also read .doc format you export from Scrivener.  But translating between formats often results in unwanted changes, so your proposed work flow could turn out to be messy and impractical.   If you have to work in .doc, probably best to just use Word or OpenOffice.

  • An external hdd for storage, which format should I use?

    I want to format an external hard disc drive for storing photos, videos and documents.
    Which is the best format to use, from the choices available?
    Thanks Doug

    If you are going to use it only with a Mac, OS X extended (journaled) is best. If you want to use it with a Windows computer as well, there are other options. http://guides.macrumors.com/Formatting_an_External_Device

  • LR Resizing Engine?  Which method does it use?

    The stock agency I am submitting to wants images upsampled to 12"x18" at 300ppi (55MB). They suggest doing this in PS using Bicubic Smoother (best for enlarging).
    I'd like to be able to avoid having to introduce PS into my workflow, but I don't know what interpolation is being used by LR when I resize like this.
    Does anyone know?

    You can also use the outstanding LR/mogrify export plugin: http://timothyarmes.com/lrmogrify.php
    It can do Bicubic too and will be far faster and versatile than using Photoshop, even if it is a droplet. On the other hand, the Lightroom resize algorithm (a form of lanczos indeed) might be fine for this purpose. It has a tendency to introduce ringing artefacts at high contrast edges though so I'd suggest you test it a little.
