Shall I charge my battery as often as possible thus avoiding complete drain of battery? Or should I minimize number of recharge cycles by allowing battery to drain completely? Which option is better?

Doesn't really matter. Just totally (<5%) discharge the battery once per month.

My iphone and ipad charge fine on the same cable using the same wall plug in the same wall socket. This makes no sense but I see that it has been posted as a problem elsewhere. This must be due to some kind of degredation of the Ipod. . It is not fixed by IOS resets as others have noted.
Has anyone asked Apple directly about this?

It is perfectly fine to use the iPad charger for the iPhone. It will not harm the battery.

I updated my iphone 4 to ios7 three days ago. It now will only charge if connected to a computer USB port, either Mac or windows. It no longer charges on any wall mounted USB cable, like it did before the upgrade. The wall mounted cables still work just fine with an iPhone 4S and a new iPad retina display but not at all with the iPhone 4. Took it to a genius at apple store and they checked the battery. It still charges to 80% of original. They were clueless and suggested I replace the unit. It seemed to be related to ios7

HT1459 Just bought a new ipod shuffle for my kid and cannot set it up because it does not show up in itunes. Also the charging light does not light up. what could be wrong, as i am able to see both my iphone and ipad on itunes on the same pc?

Just bought a new 4th gen iPod Shuffle for my kid. Problem is I cannot do the initial set up, as the device does not show up on iTunes on my PC. Also the charging does not light up. Any ideas on what could be wrong, as I am able to see both my iphone and iPad on iTunes using the same PC?

I also tried manually underlining a few things on the new iPad and when highlighting a paragraph, it would skip a few lines and the line would go through a few as well. Looks like a major iBooks glitch needs to be addressed here.
