HT4061 i just updated ios7 to my iphone4..now my email is letting me receive but not send...do i have to reset all my info or can i have to it reset
I just downloaded ios7 to my iphone4 ..trying to get used to the new features..my problem is that it messed up my email..i can get it but not send it..is there away to reset what i had without entering all the info..i have a third party server and i cant seem to get them to give me the outgoing server or port the i need to reset..Ideas
Unfortunately... Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...

To find your mail account's password, open Keychain Access.app in your /Applications/Utilities folder, select Login Keychain at the top of the list in the left-hand column, and below that, also on the left, select Passwords.
Find your mail account in the list that appears in the larger part of the window, click on it once to select it, then press command-I to open an Info window for your mail account. At the bottom of the Info window, tick the box, Show password:
In the dialog that opens, enter your "login" keychain password (which should be the same as the password you use for your Admin account), and choose Allow. That dialog will close and your mail account's password will appear in the Info window. Copy that password, and enter it in Mail when requested. -
Any one else got email problems since iOs6.1 update? Can receive but not send.
Since updating to iOs6.1 I can receive email but not send using the iPads generic mail app. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any suggestions about how to resolve this. Have deleted accounts and added again without success.

Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional. -

After updating to iOS 5, email accounts will receive but will not send. Have made sure my SMTP is correct and are turned on. Any suggestions?
Actually, I resolved this by going to the list of servers and selected the same server from the 'Other SMTP Server' category (which happened to be the same server as the primary server) and can now email.

Verizon message to update my Samsung S5 - so I did and not my email is broken. Get message - unfortunately email has stopped. How do I fix this? I've shut down, restarted - nothing ... help!

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Can receive but not send emails, this just happened
My phone stopped being able to send messages, I can still receive
The problem seems to have fixed itself. This was a new out of the box Macbook Pro and I ran the setup assistant instead of doing everything manually. Immediately encountered the send problem. Ran software update and mail would not quit, had to use Activity Monitor and force quit it. Could not reboot to finish the update because Mail would not quit.
Upon reboot and the update the computer can send and receive just fine.
So thanks for all the help anyway. I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out what happened that fixed it. -
Iphone4 will receive but not send email. How do I check settings?
I am on verizon using WiFi. When I try to send a message it goes to my outbox and I get a message saying "The recipient "email address" was rejected by the server. The email addess in the message is what ever email I am trying to send to.
the settings are in General>Mail then pick whatever account yours is. the settings you want are probably in there.

I have just updated to itunes 11 and when I plugged in my ipod classic it locked up. When I tried again it said my ipod was corrupt and advised I reset it. I reluctantly did this as I lost all my music and now itunes just locks up when I plug in my ipod.
Not if you first do a sync and have iTunes make a backup. However, if your only copy of the iTunes data is in the Touch, then you need to first copy the data to a new iTunes Library using third-party software such as Phone To Mac.

i just updated to the new software, now im getting error when i send a txt "cannot receive in box is full" ive deleted alot and cant get this fixed, also when i first did the update i lost all contacts, pics and it deleted all txt conversations after several restores i did get all that back but cannot receive txt, any suggestions?
Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss) -
I just updated to 5.7 and the exported files are blurry. I compared the ones I exported before the change and they are fine. I have not change any settings.
I don't understand your last paragraph.
"The home page also has a full bar ..." What does "full bar" mean? " ... instead of the tray it had before." What does "tray" mean?
Anyway, you might try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout

My husband gave me his iPod touch, even after resetting all settings, and even though I have a user name and password, whenever I need to update apps it shows his previous user name, and is asking for his password. How do I fix that?

There is more than one way to access the Apps Store and the iTunes store. One is via iTunes on your computer, and the other is via the apps on your iPod.
Just because you are logged in on your computer does not mean you are logged in on your iPod.
The reason your husband's user name comes up is because he was the last one to log on. You can change that by going to Settings>Store. Tap the Apple ID, Tap Sign Out, Tap Sign In, Tap Use Existing Appel ID, enter your e-mail address and Apple ID password, and tap OK. -
