HT4207 Can I force iOS to put Archived Gmail in the Archive folder?

I use Mountain Lion Mail and iOS Mail with a Gmail Account.  Mountain Lion Mail puts Archived Messages in the [Imap]/Archive folder (and this special folder shows up in Mail), while iOS simply removed the Inbox label and puts it into the [All Mail] folder.  Is there a way that I can make iOS mail archiving behave like Mountain Lion mail?  I want my Archived Messages to go into the Archive folder on iOS, not the catch all [All Mail] folder.

sudo mdutil -E /
It does reIndex. But it still doesnt indexing my external drives
and the
sudo mdutil -E /external hdd path
return an error ivalid path

  • How do I force iTunes to put my contacts from the computer onto the phone?

How do I force iTunes to put my contacts from the computer onto the phone? Multiple synchs and a restore did not work and neither does clicking the advanced setting "replace this information for this iPhone." Earlier this year I tried syncing via the cloud but only ended up with 3 different calendars, bookmarks and contacts on my devices so now I only sync via iTunes and USB.

i followed the instructions to manually manage songs and playlists.
Drag playlists from iTunes in the Source to the iPod.
If you want to delete a playlists from the iPod, in the Source in iTunes, click th eDisclosure triangle in front of the iPod name to display the playlists on the iPod.
You should edit the playlists in iTunes and then drag them to the iPod.
If you edit them only on the iPod in iTunes, and have to reload your iPod, the playlists will disappear.
what do i need to do to save the music from my nano to my hard drive
The songs should be in iTunes already.

  • Mail is putting my emails in the draft folder even though they have been sent. What gives?

Mail is putting my emails in the draft folder and leaving them there even after they have been sent. This is not happening all the time, but enough that it's annoying. What gives? and how do I fix it?

It happens on both my Mac Air and my iMac. Both are version 10.7.5

  • How can I send all emails in archive folder to someone else?

I have a friend who wishes to see all the emails from a business account (info@) that we were both involved in and which I have been administering for a few years. I have therefore selected the info account, selected all messages and used archive and it has created 2 new subfolders called 2013 and 2014 under an archived folder. No problem with that at all so far.
The problem I have *NOW* is how do I now send these to my friend? I thought they would have been archived as a file which I could have attached to another email but no. I thought there would be an option to save these now as a file of some kind perhaps on my hard drive or within Thunderbird that I could have attached to an email but once again no, there doesn't seem to be that option anywhere.
SO my question is, how can I proceed from here. Yes I *COULD* select each message individually and forward them but that would be ridiculous. He is using SeaMonkey which as you probably all know uses Thunderbird for the email client so there's no problem with compatability.
Am I making sense to anyone? Please can you point me in the right direction/give me an answer and solution to this and then I can get on and sort this out and move onto something else. :)
    Thanks, Nick

Ok I've sussed it out on my own. In case anyone else is having the same problem, go to the archive folder you created (and can probably do it exactly the same from the inbox) select ALL messages (or just the ones you wish to forward) then either right click and select or select from the forward menu option at the top "Forward as attachments". Check the title/subject of your email and change as applicable as it seems to use the subject from the first email you select before choosing select all, and insert the email recipient you're forwarding the emails too. BINGO or Hey Presto or Abracadabra or whatever word you like for "Yessssssssssssss!" lol
And that's all the lady wrote. :) Hope it helps.

  • How can i force a mail link to open in the viewer and not in the Mail App?

    Hello to everybody!
I've a trouble about the mail links in a digital pubblication. I've to force a mail link to open inside the viewer.
A normal mail link causes the exit of the app and switch into the iPad Mail App... Is it possible force to open the mail link inside the folio with the DPS?
I've seen other digital pubblication made outside the DPS that can open the mail tab of the Mail App without exiting the starting App...
Thank you in advance for your help!
    Max

You can't with DPS, it will always launch the mail application registered with the operating system.

  • Nothing shows up on my Desktop. I can put a file into the Desktop folder but it will not appear on the DTop. The HarDrive is not on the DTop either.

Nothing appears on my Desktop. The Finder seems to work, so I can place a file into the DTop folder, but nothing appears on the DTop, not even the HarDrive.

You can temporarily hide the crap on your desktop. Edit the CreateDesktop key in com.apple.finder:
defaults write com.apple.finder CreateDesktop -bool false && killall Finder
Then, to get my clutter back:
defaults write com.apple.finder CreateDesktop -bool true && killall Finder

  • How can I force iPhoto to store imported movies in a different folder?

I currently have 20GB of AVI video that have been imported over time from my digital camera. I would like to store the videos on a separate drive and still have iPhoto manage them. Is there a way to do this? Am I the only one with this problem?

Another caveat of an alias based library with video files in it is that iPhoto will not let you operate if the drive with those files is not mounted. It will continually ask you to locate the files. It doesn't do that for image files that are aliased, just video/movie files. That can be a big pain.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance. iPhoto doesn't not have to be closed to run it, just idle.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • My ISP is telling me that iWeb is putting my files in the wrong folder?

First time trying to publish a website! I am trying to upload my iWeb site files via FTP from a folder that was created by iWeb. My ISP is telling me that the files are being uploaded, but to a sun folder that is not the root directory. They have pushed me back to Apple to resolve. Any help would be apprecited.

    Hello,
I not sure I understand your problem.
Are you using the "Publish to a Folder…" command to publish into a site that you connected to with the Finder opening a FTP site?
I assume the server in question is a Sun server.
Until I get the answer to my question, let me point out a one thing that could be your problem.
When iWeb publishes a site, it places into a folder (directory) named to match the name of the web site in iWeb. I referring to the first name in the left column. It defaults to "Site". But, iWeb does put an index.html file in the same folder, which should point web browsers directly into your web site.
You can remove the contents of the folder and pull it up to the same level with any problem. So, everything in the "Site" folder would be placed at the same level as the "Site" folder.
By the way, there is a reason for iWeb publishing into a subfolder, because can have multiple web sites in one file. Each site has its own folder.

  • Managing itunes library (how to put an audiobook in the audiobook folder)

All of my audiobooks (my personal audiobooks, not ones from itunes)import to my music folder and not into the audiobook folder. Moreover, I can't move the files there after the import either. It "looks" like I can click and drag the file into the audiobooks folder but when I do, nothing happens. The genre is recognized as "books or spoken" but I can't seem to "manage" my library like I thought I would be able to do.

Thank you everyone for all your help. I have one last question in response to the solutions put forth about my audiobook issues.
Is there a way to change multiple file extensions at once? Some audiobooks have a track every three minutes of "book reading time". This allows users to quickly get to the last place they were in an audiobook. The problem though is that this can lead to hours worth of work to change one file extension at a time. Can I change multiple extensions (m4a to m4b) at once or can I take multiple tracks and combine them into "larger" tracks? Like I said, some audiobooks consist of hundreds if not thousands of tracks on some of the larger novels. It would take days to rewrite the file extensions.

  • Access denied when putting a file in the System32 folder.

    Hi,
I have this code in de Program.cs:
    TrialMaker t = new TrialMaker("TMTest1",
    Application.StartupPath + "\\RegFile.reg",
    Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolder.System) +
    "\\TMSetp.dbf",
    "Phone: +98 21 88281536\nMobile: +98 912 2881860",
    5, 10, "745");
It must put a file called TMSetp.dbf in the system32-folder of the Windwows-folder.
But I get error: Access to the path 'C:\Windows\system32\TMSetp.dbf' is denied.
What can I do about this problem?
    Greetings,
    Peter Kiers

It must put a file called TMSetp.dbf in the system32-folder of the Windwows-folder.
But I get error: Access to the path 'C:\Windows\system32\TMSetp.dbf' is denied.
What can I do about this problem?
    Either:
    1. Run your code in a process that has sufficient permission to write
    to that directory, or
    2. Write the file elsewhere - where you have permission.

  • How can I move some files (but not all) in the photostream folder on my PC to another folder on the PC?

I have photostream set up on my PC and all photos in both mine and shared photostreams are successfully being synced to my PC automatically. However, my goal is to navigate to the photostreams on my PC and be able to move them and edit the photos with other software I have. I'd like to move more one at a time as I have 100's. This would help me better sort them as well as free up some much needed space on my iCloud account as I don't need all these photos available at all times, but also don't want to lose them. Is there a way that I can do this? I really appreciate any help I can get.

Your my photo stream folder should operate the same way other folders do.  First go to the iCloud control panel for Windows and click Options next to Photo Stream.  Here, note you photo steam location (listed at the bottom).  Navigate to the photo stream folder at that location, then open the my photo stream folder inside.  Right-click on the my photo stream folder, select copy, navigate to a location of your choice, then right-click and select paste.  Click on the copied folder, press your F2 key and rename it something like Photo Stream Backup.  Then you should be all set.

  • Can't rectify a problem after  trying to delete the Movie folder from iDisk

A little while ago I deleted the folder named "Movies" from my iDisk. I had never used it so I thought I could just get rid of it. Since then whenever I start the laptop, presumably at the stage it syncs the iDisk, I get the message.. ...There is a problem deleting the folder "Movies" . You do not have permission to delete this folder. You can check your permissions in the Info panel in the Finder.
Its as if the command to try to delete this folder is undoable but simply won't go away. Its really irritating. I accept I'll have to live with the folder, I just want to get rid of the recurring message.
I can see now that the Movie folder is one I'm going to have to live with!
How can I get back to the default folder setup so this message doesn't come up any more.
By the way, The "permissions" on the iDisk say that I have read / write privileges.
    Many thanks... iain B

  • I have windows 7 and can't get my bookmark to come out of the bookmark folder and onto a toolbar that I CAN ACCESS WITHOUT GOING INTO THE BOOKMARK FOLDER

I tried dragging from the site onto the toolbar, and even though that works on my Mac, doesn't on Win. 7. I saved Facebook to my bookmark toolbar in the bookmarks folder, but can't get it out of the folder.

My iphone 4s just developed a similar problem.  Ultimately, after a visit to the Genius Bar at which I was offered a replacement phone for $149, I took the phone to a non-Apple repair shop which diagnosed the problem as tarnished pins in the docking connector and replaced the connector for $49.
The symptoms I experienced were that the phone would not pull a charge.  I tried different cables, wall outlet versus computer USB connection, etc.  The screen stayed black until I depressed the sleep button, at which time the red battery / lightening bolt symbol would flash three times and then the screen would go black.
If your battery is dead, that icon will not show up at all.  If you get the icon, it means your battery is run down and needs to recharge, but the defective docking connector is preventing the battery from taking the charge.

  • IOS iPhoto - How do I clear the editted folder?

I used to be able to cleat it by going into it and reverting all the pictures to the original, but it seems like if I edit a photo from the photostream and not the camera roll, I cannot revert it.  I have a feeling this might be one of the nuisance problems that Apple will fix in 6 months after users have dealt with them continuously.

The best way to delete is just open them in finder.  Mark them all and delete.
In the fan, you can select the sort order by right click (cntl click) the download folder and choosing "sort by" date added.
