How do I update to ios 6 on my iPad 2?
I am running iOS 5 and it tells me that it is up-to-date. I need iOS 6 to run afew apps that I would like to use.

Are you sure it isn't an 1st generation iPad?
If you have an iPad 2 you should be able to run iOS 6.1.3.

HT4623 I have an Ipad 3 and cannot get it to print in Iworks

I have an Ipad 3 and cannot print in Iworks. I have no problem scanning photo and printing through a cannon apps i downdloaded through my WiFi connection to Canon MX340 multifuntion printer. My ios 5.5 is uptodate but the ipad when in any Iworks application cannot find the printer. What am I doing wrong how do i fix this ???

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

I just realized that there are some apps I no longer have access to since the switch to iOS 5. So I followed the instructions, and there is no SOFTWARE UPDATE tab for me to click on under Settings-General.

I do not have the update options in the settings.

Assuming you have iOS 4.3 as your tagline suggests. You'll need to connect your iPad to a Computer running iTuines (Can be a Mac or a Pc doesn't matter) and follow the update prompts.
You'll probably want to back up the iPad before updating though.

What have you tried to do to update the iOS? There are two ways, via itunes on a computer (the better way, in my opinion) or directly from the device, over-the-air, if the current iOS supports this.

The colors are no longer on my calendar, I have blank boxes where delete and other actions should be, and I can no longer check the little boxes to the left of emails but the star feature does work. How can I fix this?

The colors denoting my different calendars have disappeared.
To the right of "MAIL" I have blank boxes.
When I click on the boxes to the left of in box emails instead of a check mark, there is a straight line on the far left side of the box and the mark disappears as soon as you click on another entry.

You can control this from Mail Preferences on your computer. Open Mail, go to Preferences, and select Accounts.
Go to your MobileMe account and select Mailbox Behaviors. Next to Trash, select Store Deleted Messages on the Server.

All my contacts names have disappeared after upgrading to the lastest IOS. How do I restore this? I can't find people names etc. I run a business and this is not what I expect every time a new ios or something from apple turns up.

I've had issues before with upgrades and now I was skeptical of doing the latest upgrade.
10.7.1..... **** I've got the latest ios and it's messed my contacts up. Sticking all emails and removing some business contacts numbers so it's been a night mare to run for the last week or so. I don't even see which is important calls or not I just get "no number."
Anyone know a work around or must I wait for the next "upgrade/fix"?

1. Purchase your new hard drive and an external enclosure.
2. Put your new hard drive in the external enclosure.
3. Connect the external hard drive to your mac (FW or USB).
4. Use Carbon Copy Cloner (http://www.bombich.com/) to clone your internal drive to the external drive.
5. Take the new hard drive out of the external enclosure.
5. Open your computer, pull the hard drive out of your Mac.
6. Put the new hard drive into your mac. Close it up. Turn it on. It should boot right up.
7. Put your smaller drive in the external enclosure and use it for backup, extra storage or whatever.

your printer doesn't appear in the compatible Airprint printers listed in this basic article: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
There might be an app HP has to help you out, but there's no Apple supported way, as it's not an Airprint printer.
