HT4623 Iphone 4s works great most everywhere but at home.
Hello All, I have two iphone 4s that work great most everywhere but home thru a cell phone amplifier. I get great numbers in the field test mode -80 to -65
and it still only works around 5% of the time. I've tried to reset the network, toggle in &out of airplane mode and turning it off and on still no luck. I noticed that the rrc state keeps switching from connect to disconnect. I think when it works the rrc state will read CELL_something. Is there a cure? Thanks for any help.

I don't think I can, my Internet is not very fast. I still don't understand why the phone won't connect with the strong signal I'm getting I've heard there is some kind of glitch in the 4s and 5 iphones that it won't switch automatically,
The iphone 4 has a manual switch..I installed the new update last night, SOS it didn't help, if anything it made it worst.

My MacBook works fine wifi everywhere except for home. The home wifi is fine with the iPad and iPhone, so I assume the issue is with my computer. My computer works fine on wifi networks elsewhere. The only problem is at home.
The computer "connects to the wifi," but browsers and other internet-dependent software do not work. Curiously, if I connect the ethernet cord that doesn't work either. Usually if I reset the modem to factory settings twice (for some reason, once doesn't do the trick), my computer will fully connect to the wifi. However, in a few days, it goes back to not working.
Today, resetting the modem didn't work. I could only get wifi connection while in safe mode, but not in normal mode. So, the issue seems to be software not hardware. I have tried starting new accounts in normal mode, but those also don't connect properly to internet.
Not sure if this is relevant, but this problem started when my building switched internet providers from ComHem to Telia (I live in Sweden).
What do you recommend I do?

What you want to do is get it to work reliably over Ethernet first, then tackle wifi. Power off the modem. On your macbook, delete the Ethernet configuration and the Wifi configuration. Power up the modem, then connect the mac via Ethernet. Create the new Ethernet configuration and see if you can connect. -

My iPhone was connected to a wifi internet when I tried to activate it and when I tried activation by iTunes I was using my laptop with windows 7 which was connected to internet by cable.
I updated my iPhone to IOS 7 when I was in Egypt and I had no problems with updating it and I can't remember if finding my iPhone option was on or off before updating to IOS 7 and as i understood from searching internet that to use iCloud Finder on web from computer to find my iPhone it should be set up already on my iPhone and I didn't set up iCloud on my iPhone before and my Apple ID wasn't verified for iCloud till today, I verfied it by logging in iCloud from a friend iPad.
I was considering already the option that my iPhone has been hacked but if this happened so how I would unlock my iPhone and activate it to back to work? who would help me with that? I'm so tired of being without my phone for almost 4 days and I started to consider not having any Apple product anymore... I think that this way to secure the consumer has a lot of conflicts... -
My husband's 3GS IPhone will not recognize a Wi-Fi connection at home or work. We have tried turning it on/off as well as turning airplane mode to on while turning it off then back on again. My 3GS IPhone is working fine with our router at home. Please advise what our next step should be. Thank you for taking the time to read this post!!

Can also try powering off the home router, then the phone, and then power up the router wait for the signal and then power up the phone and see if he can connect. -
I did try DFU, restarts, try other computers, etc. But nothing. Should i buy a new battery?
P.S: I'm sorry for my english ^^Obvously your phone does not "work great" . It is damaged. Your option is to buy a new phone or get an out of warranty exchange at an Apple store.

Just thought it would be nice to hear some good news.. I watched people hang out for hours tonight for the phone... I lucked out and my local Apple store had a phone in my hands with less then 2 minutes. South Coast Plaza in Orange County CA. They are THE BEST!! I went home, fired up the phone and so far can't be happier!
I am confused a little, but it is working great and I cant believe how easy I got the phone.... my lucky day I guess... iphone! iphone! iphone!

Which is why I will gladly contribute here because I was one of the many fortunate ones. Decided at 8:30pm CST that I couldn't wait 2-4 weeks, drove 10 minutes to an Apple store, walked out within 5 minutes. Activation took 3 tries, but it finally took. Tried going to sleep but kept thinking of things to lookup in Safari.
Anyway, I really feel for the people who are having problems. But I must say that it's to be expected considering at no time in the history of cellular phones have more accounts been created/updated/transferred within a 6 hour period.

Popup windows work great in IE but not in FireFox
I'm sorry if some of you helpful folks are tired of seeing my questions, but...
I have a page with thumbnails (which float correctly thanks to Altruistic Grandpa) and clicking on each thumbnail opens a new window with a larger version of the photo and some text. It works great in IE - the window opens and closes like it should - but in FireFox it creates a second browser window that has to be manually closed in order to return to the index page.
Any suggestions?

Command Tilde works in most apps but not Safari or Preview

The Command-Tilde command (window-switching) works in most of my applications (Chrome, Firefox, jEdit, Finder, Terminal, Xcode(sometimes), etc.) However,the command-tilde does not work in Safari or Preview. Is there a way to fix this? I find it quite annoying and have not been able to find a solution. I have tried resetting the System Preferences shortcut and that did not work. Uninstalling/Reinstalling Safari & Preview does not seem to be an option. I am not willing to reinstall Lion unless absolutely necessary.Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
As Guest, test. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on some Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.) Post the results of steps 1 and 2. -
Have Imac with boot camp windows 7. Sound works great in mac but no sound in windows?
I have new IMAC 24 with snow leopard os and installed windows 7 ultimate 32 with boot camp. The sound works great when in MAC but there is no sound when boot up in windows.The mixers show a sound level as music is plaing but no sound out of speakers or earphones. I read on forum that many others have had same situation with Mac Book Pros and had success by downloading new realtec audio drivers, but my system has Cirius 2406 ab9 drivers and I can't find any replacements for them. Does anyone have a fix?
Keep on trying, keep searching as there are quite a few work around's for different issues.
One way is to reinstall the Boot Camp drivers and update them again via the Apple Software Updater in Windows. You did update them the first time, right?
Or extract the sound drivers from the Boot Camp package (or the DVD if you have it) and just install those again. You should find a few how-to's in the search results.

yesterday i tryed to sownload the new software OS5 for my iPhone and after waiting the proccess to end, suddenly a message appeares saying the iphone wont restore!
after that the iphone stop working at all and not showing the home screen to me !
just it works by showiin the apple logo then a loading process that works for ever till the barrerry ends.
so please help meand can i fix it here or i have to go to a maintinace shop
thank youConnect the charger and let it charge for at least 30 minutes before you try to turn it on. Then let it charge untill full. The iPhone (or iPad) need at least a little charge before you can turn it on.

I'm moving all my managed files to be referenced so I can access from both Aperture and lightroom. Needed to do a rename on 16,000 files to get rid of backslashes in the file names. Most of the time it worked but for 1093 files it gave OSSStatus -43. I've tried googling the error and got nothing. Any ideas where to begin looking?

JimHow are you renaming the files? In the "File > Relocate original file" dialog panel? Are you using a custom name format?
Have you checked in Aperture, if the originals, that are giving you the error message, are still inside the Aperture library? -
Query works great in 9i, but on 10g massive slow down.

I tried changing the query to use exists instead of in, but it did not help.

Bought New Extreme, works great with Macs but can't get PC to connect
I just bought a new Airport Extreme this weekend. As promised it was a breeze to set up and things were working well until I tried to connect my TIVO and my work laptop (Windows) to the network I set up. I can't get either to connect to either the base network or the guest network with any level of security set on it. My only success has been to configure the Guest Network without security on it (but I don't like that idea).
Please help.I don't see "Equivalent Network Password" as a selection on the Base Network screen (or any of them for that matter).
Isn't this the password for my base station and not the wireless network? Maybe that is my problem. I am trying to connect to the network and not the Base Station? I am getting confused. What I really need to do is connect my work laptop (Windows based machine) and my TIVO to the wireless network I've created (Radio Mode selected to Automatic, Channel Selection to Automatic, Security set to WPA/WPA2 Personal).
