HT4914 i have a new computer, do i need to download my songs from iCloud in order to listen to them when there is no wifi?

I have a new mac and the hard drive is shot...do I need to download my songs off of Icloud in order to listen to Itunes if there is no internet?

Hey goddesses,
Thanks for the question. Yes, iTunes Match requires an active internet connection. However, you can download your content to your local drive for offline use.

Can any one help...I am tranfering jobs and need will need to get my music on the new laptop.

They would need to use those utilities if they no longer have access to the old computer & the original iTunes library.
If they still have access to the old machine, then this is an easy way to transfer the library.

Then you will need to search for a 3rd party program to transfer content

One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Other free programs are Pod Player, SharePod and Floola and iDump andiPodRobot.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
iPodRip also has the feature enabling you to reconstruct playlists.
There is also CopyTrans. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.

If you right mouse and select Get info it will show you the Apple ID used to purchase these songs.
Usually the name of an apple id is based on the email. So knowing that you may have forgotten the Apple ID password.
You can request a new password here http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/

If you are currently using two computers with Photoshop activated on them. You need to Deactivate one of the installed Photoshop so you have and available Photoshop available for used.  Open Photoshop use help menu iyen Deactivate or sign out the deactivate that computer.
When you have and available Activation you just need to install Photoshop on your new machine and activate it during the install process.
I beleive Photoshop Elements would have an licence like Photoshop. You may want to check with users in the Photoshop Elements forum for PSE12

I have a new computer and i need to sync my phone to update, but i'm afraid if I do I will lose alot of stuff....is this correct?

Third time I've answered this question today.
The BEST way is to copy your data from your old computer to your new computer, or, if you don't have the old computer anymore the backup that you should have made of it before retiring it. If neither of these is possible see this user tip: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141

You can authorise and deauthorise an account on a computer's iTunes via the Store drop-down menu at the top of iTunes - if you are using a PC with iTunes 11 on then control-B should get the menus to show

If you don't have the old computer's install disks, that is indeed the case.
Incidentally you don't need to post a duplicate response - all posters see all posts in a thread.

  • HT1391 I have a new computer and cannot access my previously purchased music from here. The error message says I need to authorize this computer

I have a new computer and cannot access my previously purchased music from here. The error message says I need to authorize this computer??

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

  • I have a new computer. How do I download my current Adobe?

I have a new computer. How do I download my Adobe ?

    Hi Greg Quinn,
What Adobe product are you using? If you purchased your software from the Adobe Store, you should be able to download it by logging in to your account http://www.adobe.com.
Since you've landed in the Acrobat.com forum, I'm going to hazard a guess that you need to install Acrobat. If that's the case, you can also download it from Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X or here Download Acrobat products | 9, 8, depending on your version.
    Best,
    Sara

My motherboard went out and I got a new computer and I need to deactivate Pro X from the old system and activate it on the new system.  How is this done?

    Hi David ,
If it is a retail version ,then you need to deactivate it and uninstall it as well from your old computer and then you can install it back on the new computer.
If it a subscription based software ,then you just need to deactivate it and you can operate the same on your new computer by entering in your credentials .

I am rebuilding my iTunes library, but still have all the old content on my iPod Classic.  I have just download some songs from the iStore and want to add them to the iPod, BUT when I try to sync it asks if I want to delete all content from the iPod and add only the material that I have just downloaded from the Store.  I do not want to lose my old content, because it is very extensive.

You are trying to sync to other than the one iTunes library you can sync to. You can copy music from multiple library/computer if you use the manual method of syncing. That method is described here
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
If you want to make this computer/iTunes library your syncing computer/library you have to restore the iPod on this computer/library. Restoring erases the iPod.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
To copy other music to the computer see:

Why doesn't my computer download the songs from my iphone with clouds next to them?

You can copy iTunes purchased songs over to your computer's iTunes library via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, or have you tried going to the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes and seeing if you can redownload them on your computer ?
