If you are the only user on your computer you probably don't have multiple user accounts set up and can disregard that. If you are using iTunes 11 go to View>Show Sidebar. Now see if your iPad appears under Devices on the left side when you connect it. If it does, click on the name of your iPad on the left side and your iTunes sync settings options will appear in folders with tabbed headings to the right.
If it doesn't appear on the left side, follow the troubleshooting steps shown in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538.

I updated my 4 last night to 6.0 through icloud and this morning it has the cord and the itunes logo on the screen. I tried to plug it in to my PC and it tells me that there is no internet connection, so I restarted my PC plugged my 4 back in and it gave me the same message. I then ran the diagnostic check it said I have no connection when I know for a fact I do and it also said there was no device attached. I clicked on the help tab and it said to uninstall itunes and then reinstall. I did that and still I get the same message? meanwhile I cant get my phone to turn on. I tried holding down the start button and the home button it goes blank and the apple comes up I let go of the start button keep the home button pressed for 5 seconds and it just goes back to the pic of the cord and the itunes logo!

Ipod can charge but itunes says its not connected

Just got a ipod about an hour ago and connected it to my cpu and it is charging but when i try to put songs from my cpu to the ipod its doesnt show up anywhere i cant sync it and i did the diagnostics check and it says Ipod connection status failed. How do i fix it. I went to the help menu and none of it has resloved my problem.

First of all, try another port on your computer. Some ports are not connected direct to the motherboard and do not recognize the iPod as well as those that are. Reset the iPod each time you connect it to another port.
Then try with the iPod in forced disk mode.
Putting iPod into disk mode.

iTunes 7 doesn't recognize the iPod.

Try restarting the phone by holding both the home button and the sleep button until the apple logo appears and then let them go. Wait for the phone to restart and check if th problem is still there

What model is your phone and what OS are you trying to install. iOS 7 can only be installed on certain phones.

I have completely disabled my iphone 3gs. It says "Iphone is diabled connect to itunes", but when I connect it to itunes, itunes says "could not connect because it is locked with a passcode you must enter your passcode on the iphone before it can be used.

No, that's just wasting space. A back up needs to be on a different disk.

That sounds like an idea.I've had trouble with Verizon a lot .I I switch ed back to a non andriod phone cause of the expense it took 3 months and at least that many hours of phone calls &store visits to straight in it out...there's been many times things are blocked and a month later its back on the bill,u call and are told they can't do anything ...not there problem, can't b fixed from there end,I asked to talk to a sup. At was told I couldn't then she said I'd b told the same thing I insisted...I was on hold for about 20 minutes I hung up tried to call back they would not answer, I called my daughter had her call they answered when she told them they tried to blow her off too, so she went down to a store and made a complaint.. You can't do much else besides pull the plug. If it causes further problems you should be able to restore as below:
Get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
On the other hand you may be able to simply start the update again. If however the update continues to fail, you should try the restore routine above.

Trying to restore ipod but itunes says no internet connection. Uninstalled and re-installed itunes but still have same problem. Trying to restore because I uploaded songs from Yahoo music jukebox to ipod but they won't play. They are listed as "other" and I can not access them to delete or play. Tried to delete through music jukebox but now it say " error reading content" so I figure restoring ipod is the only way to fix problem.
