The iPhone 4S comes automatically loaded with iOS 5, and any updates after iOS 5.0 can be completed directly from on the phone in Settings > General > Software Update. If you are having trouble using iTunes to update software, I suggest you reset iTunes so that you can pair your phone to the computer again, because if you can't see the serial number and capacity, that generally means your phone isn't paired. For any problems this doesn't fix, please contact Apple directly through their automated help line, 1(800)MYAPPLE.

While you could create a new ID without a credit card by following the steps in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534, I would recommend you first try contacting Apple support to find out what you can do to use your existing Apple ID without using a credit card (if it didn't have one before). You can set up a call with them by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click iTunes>iTunes Store>Purchases, Billing & Redemption>How to recover missing purchased items. The call will be free but you will need your serial number, which you can find in Settings>General>About. Did you just delete them from iTunes, or did you also tell it to delete the music files from your Mac ? If just from iTunes then they might still be stored under /Users/username/Music - if they are then you can add them back via File > Add To Library
If not, then whether you can redownload music depends upon what country that you are in. If you can redownload music (and if you haven't changed countries since buying it and it's still in your country's store) then it should show under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage :
If you can't redownload music then do you have a copy of it on your backup of your downloads/library that you can copy it back from ? -

I checked the list of installed apps like you suggested (Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Show all apps) but this problem app is not in the list. I have also swiped down on the home screen to search for it, but again it does not show.
While it has not let me download the app (and I just tried it again) it has helped me to eliminate a few things from the list of what to try, and I can definitely conclude that it has not downloaded.
I guess I need to fire up my PC and download it / sync my iPad.

Just basic updates that come through
Running on MacBook Pro OS X version 10.6.8Had same problem and solved it without having to reinstore any music or movies:
1. Delete old Library file
2. Go to the 'Previous iTunes Libraries' folder and copy one of the earlier files - note, they have a date extension, e.g. 'iTunes Library 2011-11-01'.
3. Paste this file in your iTuners folder and rename file by removing the date extension - 'iTunes Library'
You should have all your music and paylists in tact, unless it was a really old previous file. -

Got the new Iphone 5c from Verizon today and was really happy with the phone until we realized it is unable to send or recieve text messages AT ALL. We've tried everything, searched the internet for hours, I've tried live chatting with Verizon and Apple ALL DAY and somehow keep getting "disconnected" even though my internet is working perfectly. The phone is pretty much useless if it's unable to perform one of it's main functions and it's really dissapointing to add a line, get the phone, only to discover a major problem with seemingly no solution whatsoever. Is there any fix for this? Because a phone that is incapable of sending or receiving a simple SMS message is pretty much useless. It's too bad too because I really love the phone if not for that. Does anyone have a legitimate way to solve this problem? We've done everything, network resets, turning imessaging on and off, factory reset, etc. etc. etc. and nothing works. Please help.

I installed a samsung 840 pro SSD to my primary slot and relocated my 1.5 TB HDD to a data double where my optical drive was. I transfered my apps and Mac OS X to my SSD for fast boots and all my itunes movies, music, Iphoto etc to my HDD. I rebooted off my SSD then seen all the data on my HHD itunes movies, music, iphotos etc i cannot view on my SSD. So my question is how do you view all the content on both the ssd and hdd on the same screen with having to boot off one or the other?
No, what I'm saying is that once you boot into OSX, you should be able to see both drives listed. If you don't then either OSX is hiding the other drive because it sees it as a boot drive and is trying to protect the contents from novice users or there's another problem. If it's the first thing (i.e. it's a protection thing), then your only option would be to boot into the old drive, copy off all your personal data to an external backup drive, then reboot into the SSD and go into Disk Utilities and wipe/reformat the second drive so that you can see it as a regular secondary drive. Then when you see it as that, you can copy your data back to it.
Be carefull poking around in Disk Utility as you can easily lose your data. It's possible the Mac just isn't mounting that second drive because it sees it as another boot drive. Whatever you do, don't accidentally erase it without getting a copy of your data off of it because you obviously don't have that on your SSD now. -

You've checked all your homescreens and app folders for it, and can you find it via the spotlight search screen (swipe your first homescreen to the right) ? If that doesn't find it then is it hidden via Settings > General > Restrictions > Safari being set 'off' ?

The $9.99 promotion license allows to separate computer activations for Photoshop and Lightroom CC. You may install the software on a second computer. In fact, you may install Photoshop and Lightroom CC in as may computers as you like. If you wan to use a third or fourth computer which have this software installed when you sign in your Creative Cloud account you will have to sign out from the other computer devices.

I recently bought my girlfriend an Ipod Touch 4g, so that she could listen to music and text me on IMessage do to lack of signal in her area. The iPod works half the time with sending and receiving texts in a timely manner, the other times she has to restart the iPod over and over to get ANY messages sent from me. There isn't any loss of signal on either device. I'm really confused at how to fix this issue. Please help.

I just got a New Mac pro--wanted to partition..DVD install disc says error.
I just got the new mac out of the box...Partitioned it and installed software. DVD 1 worked good..when it asked for dvd 2...it says error. I cleaned the DVD and tried it again. Same problem. I put it in my power mac to see if it would read it..and it does. Your thoughts?
i contacted apple..and they are sending me out a new DVD of disc 2. It was the internal drive i was using to install.
