Connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases. You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button

A first gen iPad should get updated to iOS 5.1.1, and an iPad 2 (and 3) to iOS 6 (iOS 6 will remove the built-in YouTube app and the Maps app will change)

There is no upgrade version. The serial number that you use dictates whether or not the software is treated as an upgrade. If you purchased it as an upgrade then the serial number you have is an upgrade serial number and that will require you to provide proof that you qualify ro install/use the upgrade.

You can access previous CC versions of Photoshop from the CC Desktop.
First under "Find New Software", select "Previous versions"
Then under Photoshop, click the arrow on the Install button to see and install Previous Photoshop versions. -

Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder to teh external.
Hold Option and launch iTunes.
select Choose library... and select the iTunes folder on the external.
Make sure the external is connected and ready before launching iTunes. -

You don't have a copy of it on your backup of your downloads and you've checked your computer's hard drive for it ? What you can re-download will show under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes. Mac OS X 10.5 is not and never has been available for download, and neither Snow Leopard, Lion nor Mountain Lion will run on an iBook. But as I said in your other thread on the issue, you can perhaps try iTunes 9.2.1, the last version that would run on Mac OS X 10.4:

That would get you into the iTunes Store, I believe. It won't work with new or recent iPhones, iPods and iPads, though, which require iTunes 10. Since you need 10.5 or later to run iTunes 10, if you must have iTunes 10, then unless you can find a copy of Mac OS X 10.5 at a price you're willing to pay, then you're at a dead end as far as your iBook is concerned.

How do I recover photos that are in my library but I can't find the files?
After uploading pics of a car accident I was involved in (to iPhoto 6), I moved them to a separate folder. Now they appear at the top of the iPhoto screen in the Library, and the information appears in the lower left hand corner, but I can't view them, and they're no longer in the folder I moved them to.
These pics might save me a lot of money, so I would very much appreciate a solution.It is strongly advised that you do not move, change or in anyway alter things in the iPhoto Library Folder as this can cause the application to fail and even lead to data loss
Where did you move them to? Did you do this using the Finder? This would explain why iPhoto can't find them.
Of course you backed up this important data, right?
Try a spotlight search for them
Kind -> Images
Size -> greater than -> 100kb
Search the whole comuter. It'll find every image.
If they're not in there, then you have trashed them.
You may have some luck revocering them using something like File Salvage
