There is currently no way to merge accounts. The best option is to pick one, and use it consistantly.

This may not be exactly what you are looking for but my wife and I have a similar situation and all we do is invite each other to any calendar stuff we both need to know about. Another way you could do it is us a 3rd party calendaring that will duplicate all your entries on their server and your wife would do the same and setup a single account with that service that you both attach to your built in calendaring provided you give proper permissions. The one I would try is google calendaring which works well if you have a gmail account.

Welcome to the Apple community.
You both need your own iCloud accounts. I would set up the second iCloud account and get all the data showing in both accounts, before trying to delete anything. You will need to delete the unwonted contacts and appointments etc manually.

Sorry; I've been away for a day or two so could not respond. I think the last post from ashlie covers your question. I don't use an iPhone so I know only basics about it. As I see that reply, you log in with the ID you dont want, then log out. Then log in with the second ID you do want and log out. That should leave you with the second ID as your ID and by never using the other one again the old ID will in effect go away.

If she logs into her account (an account can't be cancelled or deleted, you can only stop using it) on her computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, there should be a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it - clicking on that should then display a list of her purchases. Can I have 2 different accounts in iTunes. 2 iPhones with same owner. One phone for work with different credit card details but same address.

Thanks for you reply. I'm 99% positive that I'm using the user id and password that I used to set up my computer. That's why I'm stumped. I read the solution someone else suggested (type your user name without @gmail and create a new password. When I tried it, I was asked for my birthday. It didn't recognize it. I have one Apple account and would like to use iCloud. I would like to have 3 iCloud accounts. One for each person in my family. One person has an iPhone3gs, one has a iPhone 4, and I have a iPad and an iPhone 4s. I would like all pictures, contacts, messages to stay separate for each user.
Can this be done?

Welcome to the Apple community.
To begin with, I would like to try to explain Apple's confusing nomenclature in regard to iCloud.
Apple have called the whole cloud thing iCloud, there are a number of features under the iCloud umbrella, some of which require their own login. iTunes is one of these, another is what Apple have unfortunately also called iCloud.
You can use the same Apple ID (account) to login to both iCloud and iTunes, but you don't need to and often users will login to each service using a different ID.
The part that you need to remember is that the services available when you log into iCloud are completely different and unrelated to those when you log in to iTunes. Your iCloud login enables mail, contacts, calendars, find my phone, Back to My Mac, Documents & Data sharing and photosstream, it does not affect any of your iTunes services.
To avoid confusion when discussing your problem, when I mention iCloud, I am referring to the services under the iCloud login, Whereas I will refer to the whole cloud thing as The Cloud.
I suspect what you are wanting to do is all share the same account for iTunes and each use your own accounts for iCloud.
