Be sure to follow this guide exactly. Note that you have to start by download and installing a free app before creating the ID. Once you have the new ID, go to Settings>iTunes & App Stores, tap the existing ID, sign out, then sign in with your new ID.

The iPhone password is corrupted so it is interfering with the synching of the four devices on the iCloud. I had this problem on my iMac and fixed it after a half hour of frustrated trying. I had changed my Apple ID on my iPad mini while traveling. When I finally got back home after a few months, I couldn't log in to iTunes on my iMac. The old Apple ID was still being used on my iMac. I tried just highlighting it and deleting it and typing in my new Apple ID. No dice. The login just defaulted to my old Apple ID. I tried clicking on the drop down menu that appears when you right right click your Apple ID that appears at the top of the page after highlighting the 'iTunes Store" in the left side list. I saw "account" so I clicked on that. The "account" settings on my iMac showed my new Apple ID but my iMac wouldn't use it. It just kept defaulting to my old ID. I shut down. I logged back in. Same result. Finally I right clicked the same drop down menu and saw "sign out" at the bottom of the list. Even though I was not signed in to iTunes, I clicked "sign out". My next log in to iTunes showed my Apple ID as blank and I was able to type in my new ID. Hope this helps.
I am a long time 20 year Microsoft user. I am somewhat ( 1 year) new to Apple. With Microsoft, I found that fixing problems was clunky and complex, but there was always a post somewhere that explained the fix. Microsoft's explanations stated even the most obvious fact. Even if everyone knew that the sky was blue, Microsoft's instructions would still tell you that the sky was blue. With Apple, I find that the obvious is sometimes not so obvious. But the fix is almost always easy once you find it, without many of the elaborate maneuvers needed in Windows.

2. Apple's required that I change the password to include eight letters, which must include a number and a letter with a capital letter. (E.g. password format changed from something like "password1" to "Password1".)
3. I need to revert my password to my original one. However, when I try to revert to my original password get an error message in red: "The Password specified has been used in the past year. Please select another."

upper case letter

several specific non-alphanumeric characters
two or more consecutive characters (e.g. Password1% is NG)
three or more consecutive characters from your last password (e.g. Pswojg9@# is NG)
any of your previous 20 passwords (twenty!!)
Passwords must be changed every 30 days
Good luck with that.
The purpose of this farce is clear - to absolve the IT department of blame should a password get hacked. If you write yours down as any normal human would be required to do (that's prohibited also), well, it's just not their fault when someone finds it taped to the underside of your desk. "It's for your security" is BS. It is for theirs.
The irony is that a password conforming to the above silliness is easier for a computer to break than a longer, but more memorable phrase - one intelligible to humans. To a computer, it's all the same: just a string of bits, and the more or them, the harder it is to crack.
So how bad does Apple seem now?
Perhaps one day, in a more enlightened age, the IT geniuses who come up with this nonsense will realize ridiculous password requirements hinder security rather than enhance it. From what I've observed of our species, enlightenment is not going well.

Hello everybody,
What a wierd thing happened with my device.
I'm using my apple ID for about 4-5 years.
But few weeks ago it started asking me about different (my old Apple ID) password for iCloud.
I cannot get rid of my old Apple ID in iCloud. It's grey and there is not way to change it.
There are few official apple manuals how to fix the issue: delete the incorrect apple ID and replace it with correct one.
Sure, I tried to delete APPLE ID, but it asking me about a password. I went to https://iforgot.apple.com/ and entered the old apple id there, it said:
Email has been sent. When you receive your sign in information, follow the directions in the email to reset your password.
I'm checking the email, but there is nothing. Actualy the Apple ID is that email.
So, I'm stuck. Cannot change it to correct one in iCloud.
May be somebody resolved the issue before?
