Thanks for your response, I forgot to add that the five 3uk sims we have in use, I have tried all of them none of them are recongnised non of them have pin codes, I even purchased four more sims Tmobile (original carrier) Vodaphone, 3 and giffgaff.

Has anyone else had issues with phone network being unavailable on iPhone 4 since updating to iOS 5.0.1? My iPhone 4 is continually searching for a network and does not find AT&T, my provider. I swapped SIM cards with another iPhone 4 running ios 4 and established this is a device problem, not a SIM card problem.

Sounds like the device may have had a hardware failure. If it is out of warranty, the only option is the Out of Warranty replacement.
AppleCare is only an option if it is still under the original warranty. -
i am having the problem in my 3gs iphone. it says it shouldnt take more than 3 minutes then i get this message Could not activate iphone.

I have just got iTunes match. It appears that since joining and starting it some tunes have been deleted from my library. They are shown in the listing but iTunes can no longer locate the files. Any suggestions?
If they are showing in the Videos app with a cloud then go into Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone and set Videos (under the 'Show All') heading 'off' - you might (depending upon which country that you arein) have a similar button for music and the Music app.

I have an iphone 5C, and the calibration started messing up since I tried clicking various things and it would click something else. Then the time started freezing, I changed it various times to update so that it updates to the current time but it just freezes. Now, it also freezes on me and it wont let me restart it with ease. I already tried reseting it various times and no luck. I tried updating the time and it just stays at the time I update it to. Any suggestions?
Mine is doing that too. I tried the Menu/Center button. It's definitely fully charged. I've clicked from Hold/not several times. I've turned off/on. I've 'Reset' - nothing is working. It's been doing this for a week.

I have recently upgraded my 3G iPad2 to IOS 7.0 and I have since then been unable to send SMS's (not using iMessage). Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
Thanks everyone, I thought that I had lost some functionality since upgrading as I can only send messages via iMessage and in our household there are 4 iOS devices and whenever anyone sends a message they do not receive the reply but it does come up on my iPad ( I don't always carry my iPad) so it can be hours before realising that the message has been received. The only solution I have is to turn off iMessage on the iPad and then everyone receives their messages normally.

i have just got my 3gs back from my daughter and i have put my sim card in and it comes up as emergency calls only. That is my first problem then when i plug it into itunes it only recognises it as her iphone can anyone help my please ?
I agree with wjosten. Sounds like a sim card issue. Was your sim card removed from a working,activated phone? I've switched sim cards in an iphone multilple times and never had a problem. You might try removing the sim card and reinstalling.

Since updating to iOS 6 iPad uses cellular even though I'm on WiFi
Since updating to iOS 6, my iPad uses cellular to down load everything, even though I'm on my home WiFi. It shows that it is connected to my WiF, but, does't use it. As a result, my cellular usage has gone thru the roof. iOS 5.1 did not do that. iOS 5 would automatically switch to my network and work within my network and not cellular. Other than switching off cellular when I'm home, is Apple going to fix this bug or any other suggestions?
Your answer was true with iOS 5.1 however, not with iOS 6. It's the same problem is occurring with iPhone 5. Apparently Apple has issued a patch for iPhone 5 using Verizon's cellular network. My iPad (3) uses Verizon's cellular network.
Not looking to avoid cellular charges but wanting my iPad to switch to WiFi when it's available. For example, at home my WiFi is on ALL the time. The icon showing that WiFi is on and active shows up in the upper left corner (as well as the Verizon icon) however, is still operating on the cellular network. I want the connivence I had with iOS 5. I don't need to be switching manually. -
Since updating my ipad to iOS 6 a few days ago i can't seem to get onto the internet, the app store or itunes, nor can i update to iOS7!! I sent an email to apple support and they said we don't handle these issues and redirected me back to the help forums which i have already seen and tried everything other people have suggested and nothing has worked (changing date, signing in/out of itunes etc). When i go to app store the screen is blank, in itunes it just keeps saying loading but never gets anywhere and same with the internet! When i go to settings to update to iOS 7.0.4 it says software update unavailable, try again later. Not sure what to do now. Nothing works, can't use my apps, facebook, music etc. Will contact apple again and try get some answers. But thanks for any info
Some things to try first:

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

My gen 3 iPod Touch seems to have duplicated all my music since updating to IOS 5 so that it now only holds half as much. What can I do about it? I'm using the same iTunes library with OS 10.6 and all software up to date.
Is the camera damaged? Could be a hardware problem.
Try:
Close the Camera app in the multitasking bar, then try again.

How do I go from 300mb per month for the past year to 3 gigs in one month? iOS 6 and podcasting being removed from the OS.
After updating my 4s with iOS 6, my data usages more than quadrupled from 300-400mb per month in the past year to 3 gigs in a month since updating. My usage was the same. So I decided to monitoring my daily usage and made it a point not to use the 3g and was getting 100-200 mb a day in usage still. Then I realized that ever since podcasting was removed from the OS and made into an seperate app it was checking and downloading podcasts automatically even when wifi wasnt available
I did the following and my usage is back to normal again.
Setting>Podcasts> Turn off Sync Subscription and Turn off Use Cellular Data (I had this turn off, even when I was getting overages)
Also do the following:
Launch the Podcast App
Go to Library>>For each podcast> Expand the settings by clicking the "right arrow" next to podcast name and uncheck auto-download. There seems to be a bug that when "Auto-Download" is check it downloads whenever a podcast is available even though iOS 6 was told not use cellular data for downloading in the setting above. I also think the app is refreshing and check for new episodes through the 3G as well
I now go into each Podcast and manually download each new episode when I am near a wi-fi connection (Make sure the 3G icon is replace by the wifi icon on your iphone).
You can still force the podcast to use 3G by manually downloading them when wifi isnt available.
Hope this helps and they fix it.
AT&T told me before I figured it out, it was not their problem and apple told me there are no issues with sudden overages with iOS 6.

Bang P.Apple told you there are no excessive data usage issues with IOS6? Haha, that's typical, did you tell them to simply search their discussion forums for "IOS6 excessive data usage"? They'll discover massive amounts of people complaining about this very issue, including myself. But that's Apple for you, never admitting to a problem, always pretending to be perfect. Meanwhile, millions of users are going to be shocked when they get their November bills and notice they've incurred excess data charges. Thanks Apple, after the maps fiasco I thought you couldn't get any worse, I guess I was wrong.

Issues with wifi since updating to iOS 6 on iPad 3.
I'm having wifi issues since updating to iOS 6 on my iPad 3. I can't access certain sites and get error messages such as 'servor can't connect' and 'request timed out.' Although some sites work fine. I can't access apps which require internet such as facebook, iMessenger, face time and games which need internet access. I can't use iTunes or App store and get the message 'can't connect to iTunes try again.' All these problems started after I updated to iOS 6. I found that the iPad works fine at another location on a different wifi but not at home. The home internet is not the issue as laptops, phones and iPad 1 and 2 all work fine on the internet here. I took my iPad to the apple store with no help and no useful advice so came back again and they offered me a hardware swap which I took. I now have the new iPad but the issue still remains. I have tried everything and I have done everything that has been suggested. Some things I have done are reset network settings, reset all settings, changed wifi dns, changed HTTP proxy to auto, closed all apps and re-opened, fully shut down the iPad, turned off the wifi router and restored the iPad several times. I have searched for help and advice and found that there are many complaints about iOS 6 on the iPad 3 when it comes to wifi. What else is there for me to do to fix this problem? I can't use internet or apps that require internet, basically my iPad is of no use at the moment. Do I have to wait for a new software update which will address this problem?
Are you losing the connection to iTunes on the iPad or the computer? You are saying that iTunes is updated. Of course iTunes is updated when you update the iOS software. That's a no brainer.
If you mean that iTunes is updated on the computer, that has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with downloading and updating apps on the iPad itself so changing the date on the iPad, signing in and out of the stores on the iPad .... Doing any of that on the iPad would have nothing to do with iTunes on your computer.
If .... you have not been able to connect to the iTunes or app stores at all on the iPad - try this ...
Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services (swipe to the bottom of the page to find this)>Location Based iAds>Off.
If the downloads are stalled or "waiting" - try these suggestions.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If you can't connect at all - you can also try rebooting your router. Unplug it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again.
