HTML Application file HTA

i am developing applications using APEX for my work intranet. i want to provide a browser window to run the application similar to a popup window(no toolbars, most importantly no back button). i have found a way to do this using a HTA file and placing my application inside an iframe in the page. it seems to work ok but is there any potential issues with doing it this way? here is the code for my page

  • Crash on search function for HTML Help file (.chm) when connected to a Visual C++ application

Crash on search function for HTML Help file (.chm) when
connected to a Visual C++ application
I use the RH_ShowHelp API command to connect a HTML Help file
(.chm file generated by RoboHelp Word X 5) to my Visual C++
application. My application is able to call up this HTML help file
in context-sensitive mode and everything is working great in the
Contents and Index panels EXCEPT when I click on List Topics (after
I enter a KEYWORD for search) in the Search panel.
I got an error that said “Unhandled exception in
    xxxx.exe.(HHCTRL.OCX):0xC00000FD: Stack overflow”
I am able to execute this .chm file by itself and the search
function works well in this case. I am using HHActiveX.dll that is
created on 2/23/04. Is this the correct version?? Any advice what
    to do here??

Hi agschin and welcome to the RH forums. The hhactivex.dll
file is not used by the search function so you can rule that our.
Have you tried recompiling and seeing if the problem still happens?
You can also start the Bug Hunter feature in RH - View > Output
View and then select the Bug Hunter button - and see if that throws
    up any clues.

  • PDF outputs continually crash after editing an html source file

I have English and multiple localized versions of a RoboHelp webhelp project. I have created several PDF outputs for the localized versions. I can generate the PDFs fine when I don't touch any of the html source files.
However, I had to make a change to one of the html source files to remove a <dl> from the source file. After making the change to the source file in an outside text editor (Notepad ++), I went back to RoboHelp to generate the PDF, and the PDF output crashed.
The reason I was using an outside text editor is that when I tried to edit the <dl> HTML tags in RH, its HTML editor deleted all text within the tags being edited.  There was no undo at this point.  In anotehr attempt to use the RH Design editor, RH didn’t delete the <dd> or <dt> tags when those tag styles were changed to <h4> and <p>, respectively. RH inserted the new html wrapper inside the existing ones, instead of replacing it.
Also, during the PDF generation process, a Visual Basic error message will appear dozens of times stating that the application was interrupted.  I must press OK to continue for each error message.
What gives with the PDF generation failing like this?

I hate to say it but it sounds like something you are doing in the external editor is not liked by RoboHelp.
It could just be the way that text editor codes the file. I use EditPad Pro and that has various options for text encoding. My guess is your editor is not set to what RoboHelp expects.
Aftr that what I would do here is create a new one topic project and recreate the problem, with the minimum of text. It may help you spot the code RoboHelp does not like.

  • How do I tell the installer to put my html help files in the helpdir symbolic location?

I used the File>>Print function to create an HTML help file for my application and specified in the VI Properties for the app to use <helpdir>:\ApplicationHelp.HTML as the Help Path. This should pop up the help file when a user selects "Help for This VI" from my custom menu. It works from my development directory because I installed the help files into the help directory manually, but I can't figure out how the get the installer to put the files in the correct location on the target system.  I tried putting them in [LabVIEW 2010 Help] in the Destination View for the Source Files category, but that didn't work.  Anyone know the right way to do this?

    Hey MrSmith,
In LabVIEW 2010 SP1, if open the Project and right click My Computer, you can add the help file as a source. After you have added this file, you can then create an installer. Under the Destination header, you can add your desired destination path. After you have done that, you can go to the Source Files header and add the help file to that destination you created.
Hope this helps. Good luck with your application!

Thank you for the reply! I had already done the steps you suggested, so let me put up some screen shots that should help you understand my issue better. First, I specified the path to the help information on the Documentation screen of the applications Properties:
Next I had added all the help files (DetectorFT.html and all the .png files) to the source in a virtual folder I named Resources.
Next, for the release build I specified the files to be Always Included on the Source Files header.
Next I created a Resource Directory as a destination for the release build.
Then I specified the Resource directory as the destination for the files for the Release build.
After creating the Release build, I created an Installer build and told it on the SOurce Files screen to put the help files into the [LabVIEW 2010 Help] directory.
I had assumed that putting the files in the [LabVIEW 2010 Help] destination would put them into the correct directory when the installer ran.  When I ran the installer on the target system, the ran the application I tried to select the "Help for This VI" tab on the menu, but it was grayed out indicating it could not find the file in the proper location.  So the question I have is, what IS the proper location for the files to be installed to so the the application will find the Help files when it is looking for them at the <helpdir> Symbolic Path location? Thanks again!

  • I'm trying download Firefox Sync. When I open it & tried to drag the icon into my application file, I get a message saying a newer version of Firefox exists & did I want to replace it. Should I replace my Firefox 5 or is there something else I can do?

I am trying to activate Firefox on my Ipad. I saved the download file. When I opened it and tried to drag the icon into my application file, I got a pop-up message saying that a newer version of Firefox existed and did I want to replace it. Should I replace my Firefox 5 or is there something else I can do?
I'm afraid I'll lose my browser.

    * Download a new copy of the Firefox program: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install.
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded.

  • Application Files and InContext

IS it possible to use application files like .cfm or .php
    with InContext?

    Hi patGRFXS,
Yes, you can use application files such as php, coldfusion,
    asp, etc...
"InContext Editing can edit static HTML on virtually any web
page. However, InContext Editing does not currently support
server-side programming languages such as CFM, ASP, JSP, and
    PHP."

If your editable regions contain dynamic data (e.g., data
loaded via an include, etc.), the dynamic code is replaced with
static code if the region is edited. Your page can contain dynamic
data, but your editable regions should be static data only.

  • RoboHelp HTML Application closed

I was working on another system while my RoboHelp project was
up. I might have had too many things up at once. I received a
message that the RoboHelp HTML Application has encountered a
problem and needs to close. I didn't get a chance to close
properly. I selected Send Error Report but I'm not sure what will
come of it. I tried clicking on the Debug button and nothing
happens. When I try to load my project, it gives me this error
message and will not bring it up. Does anyone know what I can do to
locate the probelm and get my project to work again?
    Jencie

    Hi Jencie
We first need to determine if it's just this single
application or if RoboHelp itself is wonky. Are you able to open
RoboHelp HTML generically? Create a totally new project or open one
of the sample projects with no issue? If you can't do that, you are
possibly looking at reinstalling RoboHelp. If the other projects
open without issue, you are facing an issue with just this project.
If this is the case, the answer might be as simple as locating and
squashing the ProjectName.CPD file, then opening the project using
the .XPJ file so the .CPD will be rebuilt.
    Hopefully this helps... Rick

  • Cannot execute Microsoft HTML Help file from within Eclipse managed app.

I took an easy solution and created a help system for a large Java application using the Microsoft HTML Help Workshop as the IDE. The Help System does exactly what the client wants, but when I tried to integrate it into the application I ran into a brick wall.
I wrote a very small Java app to see if I could execute the compiled help file (RAS_Help.chm) under the simplest circumstances. The code, which runs fine under VJ++ throws the following exception when run from Eclipse
    e: java.io.IOException: CreateProcess: RAS_Help.chm error=193

I assume the problem is in launching .chm files, since if I change the program I want to execute from the RAS_Help.chm file to the Windows Solitare game (sol.exe) the program works like a charm with no errors thrown.
Can anyone give me some guidence on this? If it is impossible to run the HTML Help file I created, I'd be ammenable to redoing it in some other package, if that would guarentee my being able to use it in the client's large application.

  • How to run a query in VEV HTML application?

    Hello,
We are developing an HTML application using VEV sdks. Anybody knows how we can run a query saved in a .rhq file using on-click event in HTML?

You call the executequery(string) JavaScript function. That means you need to have the text from the rhq file. You can ignore the comments there (// lines and text following // on any line).
If you you want to read the text literally from the file, you can do that in HTML5 with a method like this
How to open a local disk file with Javascript? - Stack Overflow
Most likely you will use fixed strings or compose them in JavaScript and then run them via the function call.

When building a web site, how do I set up a blank browser page that I can pull html & css files into.

David's book is a good place to start. This is really far more involved that can be covered in this forum. You'll need to get familiar with a database, most likely MySQL, PHP, how to send requests tot he database - queries - and most likely maintain a state with Sessions. As you can see, it's a bit involved. The good news is this skills you'll acquire to do this will go a long way! It will cover all the basic requirements of web application development.

  • Application files not working...please help.

I have an imac g3 400MHz when i start it up it goes through its normal starting phases but without any error messages and when the color screen pops up , it freezes so the only way i can start the computer is with extensions off. Once their any application file i try to open does not work but i do get messages that read for example:"The application "Apple DVD Player" could not be opened because "ControlStripLib" could not be found". Other messages read similiarly. Can you offer any suggestions or do you require further information about my problem?
    Thanks.

Open the Servers folder inside the System Folder and throw away anything that you don't recognize, and restart your computer normally. If the issue persists, open the Extensions Manager control panel, turn off half of your extensions, and restart the machine. Repeat the process of turning off half of the remaining extensions and restarting until you've narrowed down the extension causing your issue.
The messages about items not being found are due to the extensions not being loaded.
