HTML-Body + charset
Hi all,
I'm creating email-messages via ObjAPI in GW with a HTML-Body, which has to be done
by attaching a Text.htm to a message. This file has the desired Html-Body as content.
Besides that I define a BodyText as the plain text part of the message. That message
is saved as a draft and then sent by the ObjAPI command ".Send()".
In my Text.htm file I define UTF-8 as the charset of the html document, because I do
have to use special chars, like german Umlaute or something similar.
My html content comes from a "external" HTML editor.
When adding my "Text.htm" as attachment, GW seems to choose the charset for the
email-message itself by checking the BodyText content. So the effect when sending
such a message via GWIA is the following:
GWIA defines a "MIME-charset", i.e. "iso-8859-1", but my "Text.htm" has defined
"utf-8" as charset, so the reveiving email-client won't display the html-content
right; most speical chars are displayed as the all known "garbage".
If I open the created draft message inside the GW client and send it via the client
button "Send" the message will be sent correct; so I assume the whole "charset thing"
is handled by the client.
What options do I have to send HTML messages, containing special chars (german
umlaute) just by using the ObjAPI (without Tokens!)?
Any possibility to "force" GW to use a special charset when sending a message?
Environment: GW 7.0.3 (POA + client).
regards,
Markus
I created a bug to investigate the problem.

Sender Mail Adapter - html body mail
Hello Everybody,
I'm facing this strange problem:
I receive an e-mail with an XML attachment with a sender mail adapter and I use the PayloadSwapBean to let the attachment be the real payload as explaned in this blog
<a href="/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/12/18/xi-sender-mail-adapter--payloadswapbean--step-by-step:///people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/12/18/xi-sender-mail-adapter--payloadswapbean--step-by-step
If I receive mail in text/plain format everything works fine, but as soon as I get an email with an html body (content-type: multipart/alternative; boundary=...) it doesn't any more (In the XI Monitor i still se 2 payloads, but I can only open the one with the attachment).
In this case the mapping is stuck in "scheduled for outbound process" status and the XI queue gets blocked with status "SYSFAIL" giving this error "Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible".
Is there any way to force XI digest also HTML e-mails?
As always, thanks a lot for your help.
DanieleThanks Akshay,
this really worked!
Fyi I'm using XIPAYLOAD option. I added in the module chain, before the PayloadSwapBean, a MessageTransformBean with this parameter:
Transform.ContentType - text/plain;charset=uft-8
this way I can also see the massage body in the monitornig.
Hope this will be helpful for someone else.
Regards,
Daniele -
Embedded image in html body of the email is not appearing in Outlook mail box
My application Basically gets the un delivered emails from the outlook account.Composes the email from information then also appends the signature of email.The signatures may be multiple , form will show these signatures as a dropdown usin webbrowser control there both image as well as links appear well.But the same if draft them to outlook drafts folder the image in the signature misses and shows image not available.II fetch the signature from user local signature folder , convert it base64 string and set the string as source for image element and append this body of the email.I basically use Outlook COM object to achieve thesepublic void AddImageContentToHtml(List<TamDetails> tamList,string html,string key)

</html>Hi ssanjay.brillio,
According to your description, you'd like to send a email with an embedded image in the signature.
I suggest you sending the image in the last of the body of email instead of operating the signature of email.
The following example codes demonstrate how to send email using ImportHtml method with embedded images.
SmtpMail oMail = new SmtpMail("TryIt");
SmtpClient oSmtp = new SmtpClient();
// Set sender email address, please change it to yours
oMail.From = "[email protected]";
// Set recipient email address, please change it to yours
oMail.To = "[email protected]";
// Set email subject
oMail.Subject = "test HTML email with embedded image";
// Your SMTP server address
SmtpServer oServer = new SmtpServer("smtp.emailarchitect.net");
// User and password for ESMTP authentication, if your server doesn't require
// User authentication, please remove the following codes.
oServer.User = "[email protected]";
oServer.Password = "testpassword";
// If your smtp server requires SSL/TLS connection, please add this line
// oServer.ConnectType = SmtpConnectType.ConnectSSLAuto
try {
// Import html body and also import linked image as embedded images.
// 'test.gif is in c:\\my picture
oMail.ImportHtml("<html><body>test <img src=\"test.gif\"> importhtml</body></html>", "c:\\my picture", ImportHtmlBodyOptions.ImportLocalPictures | ImportHtmlBodyOptions.ImportCss);
Console.WriteLine("start to send email with embedded image ...");
oSmtp.SendMail(oServer, oMail);
Console.WriteLine("email was sent successfully!");
} catch (Exception ep) {
Console.WriteLine("failed to send email with the following error:");
Console.WriteLine(ep.Message);
If you have any other concern regarding this issue, please feel free to let me know.

Textarea as html body in email
Hi there,
I am trying to send an email within Apex (4.1.1.00.23) by putting the content
of a textarea (within a form) as html body.
However, the carriage returns and blanks are automatically erased and thus a text like this:

l_body_html := '<pre>' || :P7_MESSAGE || '</pre>' ;However without success!
Am I missing something here?
Thanks in advance...

Page HTML Body Attribute - can there be more than one in this area?
In "Oracle Database Application Express Advanced Tutorials", Release 3.0, B32469-01 on page 10-10, in the section labeled "Create a Call to the disFormItems Function" in step 6........it reads:
//start citation
In the Page HTML Body Attribute, enter the following:
onload="disFormItems(); first_field();"
//stop citation
My questions are:
Can there be more than one "onload" statement?
If yes, how do you string them together?
Assume the second function I want to add is "disFormItems_local()"
Thank you,
MaggieOkay, I have figured it out, I believe. So, I will provide my own answer in case someone else is looking for this type of situation in the future.
I edited the page definition by adding another function, disFormItems_local(), to the HTML Header Attribute.
Next, I edited the item's HTML Form Element Attributes to call the function, onchange="disFormItems_local()"
Then, I created a call to the disFormItems_local function in the page HTML Body Attribute, onload="disFormItems(); first_field(); disFormItems_local();"
Other stuff that you will need to know is to be found in Chapter 10 page 8, Enabling and Disabling Form Elements of the 3.0 Advanced Tutorials. -

ThnxHi Nicolas!
Have you tried to set "Output Format" for "RAW Text" to HTM in SCOT.
If HTM is missing in your dropdown-list, you could check out table SXCONVERT2. Copy the line with category T/format TXT, and change the format from TXT to HTM. The existing function
SX_OBJECT_CONVERT__T.TXT does not need to be changed. Now you should be able to choose HTM in SCOT. You will probably need som HTML-tags in your text to make it look good.
Hope this helps!

Mail with HTML BODY content?
Hi,
We seem to have a little problem with sending mails wtih HTML content, we have a "Link" in the mail body to be sent , so we are using html tags <a href=""link"></a> so that the mail receipient see the URL as a link ....
The actual code used is given below:-
l_body_html := ' <html>
<body>
<p>Hi,<br><br>You have been provided access to <a href="http://URL.com:20000/pls/htmldb/f?p=102"></a>'||
'</p> </body> </html>'
HTMLDB_MAIL.SEND(
P_TO => '[email protected]',
P_FROM => '[email protected]',
P_BODY => l_body_html,
P_BODY_HTML => l_body_html,
P_SUBJ => 'Access Details.');
What is wrong here , except the link of URL the rest of the text is coming in the mail body...
regards
NaveenNaveen,
This is an HTML problem. You have provided no text for the anchor.
You probably want something like:
<a href=http://URL.com:20000/pls/htmldb/f?p=102>Click Here</a>
And to be proper HTML, you should enclose the href value in double quotes, as in:
<a href="http://URL.com:20000/pls/htmldb/f?p=102">Click Here</a>

How to put a long HTML body in a blank page?
Hi group,
I have done a home page in Word :), after that, I want to put the HTML header and body code in the blank page (APEX blank page).
HTML header is accepted without any problem, but when I try to paste the "html body" which was created very long APEX is not allowing me.
The next error is displayed:
ORA-20505: Error in DML: p_rowid=89, p_alt_rowid=ID, p_rowid2=116, p_alt_rowid2=FLOW_ID. ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column
Is there any way to put my code in a blank page inside of APEX, or how can I put it like my home page?
Any advice or help will be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,

Word-generated HTML and CSS is non-standard, bloated and incomprehensible.
Learn some basic HTML and CSS so you can author the content properly.

This will be 3 times bigger than it needs to be.
Is there any way to put my code in a blank page inside of APEX, or how can I put it like my home page?If you must persist with these crimes against mark-up, split the body code across several HTML regions on the page. -
Messages not shown correctly in HTML BODY tab in workflow notifications
I am defining a message in teh HTML BODY section. It is a basic HTML table. If I run this in a browser , it shows up fine , i can see the table with the rows and columns. which means there is nothing wrong in the format as such.
But on the notification page, there is no table, every thing is printed as a single line . I am not sure what the issue is , please guide. Has anyone displayed data in a table in the HTML body of a notification?
Below is my message body:
<html>
<table border="1" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="3" width="100%">
<tr bgcolor="#CCCC99">
<td valign="TOP"><b>Schedule Reference Number</b></td>
<td valign="TOP"><b>Customer</b></td>
<td valign="TOP"><b>Request ID</b></td>

</tr>

<td valign="CENTER" height="20">REQUEST_ID</td>
<td valign="CENTER" height="20">DSP failed to process due to system errors. Refer to Release Management Exceptions Report generated for the mentioned Request ID.</td>

I created an attachment by using a document type attribute . That works fine, it opens in a new window and I can see the values.
My requirement is to display this data inline in the message body itself. It is just 3 to 4 rows of data. So I dont need an attachment. I just want to display the data in the message of the notification itself.
This is what is causing issues , it just prints everything in one line as a string.

How to access the html body source?
Is their a way to access the html body source code? Because i want to add a div in my body before and after some select lists to get a border around my select lists. Thanks people.
Hello,
If you add a Start and Stop HTML Table element before and after your select list, it will create an extra table around your select lists with an id=<name of your Start/Stop Table Element>. Using some javascript (or jQuery) you can add a class to that Id that'll create a border.

Error with javascript under HTML body attribute
Hello,
I put this onload="$x_HideItemRow('P150_OTHER')" under HTML body attribute, however, i got an error:
1 error has occurred
You may not declaratively set cursor focus if you specify an ONLOAD in this attribute. You can programatically set cursor focus by using the following syntax:
onload="mystuff(); first_field();"
How to fix this?
Thanks,
JenniferJennifer,
I'm not sure if I can answer your question directly but, if you simply move the location of your code, it will work. You want this to execute when the page loads, right?
Just go into the Page properties. IN the section labeled "JavaScript" find the text area labeled "Execute When Page Loads" in there, put:
$x_HideItemRow('P150_OTHER');That will execute the hide command whenever the page loads.

How can I get the html BODY marginwidth/leftmargin-rightmargin to work?
I am developing some web pages where I want both a left and a right margin. I DO NOT want to play with CSS. There are html attributes MARGINWIDTH, LEFTMARGIN, and RIGHTMARGIN for the BODY element. The first works with IE, while the last two work with NS. I have all three set for Firefox and see no visual margin in the browser. A little help on this would be great
The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup... Restore as New...
Restart / Reset
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Try this First... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Turn the Phone Off... ( if it isn’t already )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
Turn the Phone On...
If that does not help... See Here:

Mailto with html body for UIApplication sharedApplication
Hi There,
I would like to have my iPhone application be able to email out in html format some local data. After looking at it I have two questions:
1) What is the best way to construct large strings i.e html content. Appending hundreds on lines to an NSString seems cumbersome. In Java I would use a StringBuffer but I cant't find the C counterpart.
2) Once I have this html content can I simply pass it as the '?body'var in the mailto url of the UIApplication sharedApplication? It's a lot of data and may not have the correct %20 UTF coding.
Any ideas or examples on the best way to do this if it is at all possible? Ideally I would like to send an email with an attachment but the iPhone SDK prohibits that currently.
Many Thanks AllHi,
Experience does help, of course, but I do look up things on the web. For example, for this issue I double-checked http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17556_01/doc/apirefs.40/e15519/toc.htm as I actually use VARCHAR2s for the email body texts, so didn't even know you could use a clob! download.oracle.com usually has the information I need, so use inurl:download.oracle.com in a google search

Hi
An HTML Email body sent through any email client. If the body type is HTML, when it comes through POP3 Exchange server 2007 and Siebel driver reads the mail it looses the Body formatting. I have already tried with the following options
1) Adminstration Communication -> Communication Drivers and Profiles -> Internet SMTP/POP3 Server -> Driver Parameters -> Create Plain Text From HTML to True - This did not help
2) Adminstration Communication -> Communication Drivers and Profiles -> Internet SMTP/POP3 Server -> Driver Parameters -> Convert Incoming To Plain Text to True - This did not help
Both the combination did not help
We also tried changing the POP3 properties at Exchange server level, where any email that is coming will always gets changed to plain text or HTML even that did not help.
Any suggestions or recommendations are highly appreciated.
Thanks
BhanuHi,
I also think it's caused due to the software confliction, to verify this, please perform a clean boot:
Log on to the computer by using an account that has administrator rights.
Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box, and then press Enter to start the System Configuration utility.
Note If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, you should type the password or provide confirmation.
Collapse this imageExpand this image
On the General tab, click the Selective startup
option, and then click to clear the Load startup items check box. (The
Use Original Boot.ini check box is unavailable.)
Collapse this imageExpand this image
On the Services tab, click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then click
Disable all.
Collapse this imageExpand this image
Note This step lets Microsoft services continue to run. These services include Networking, Plug and Play, Event Logging, Error Reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you may permanently delete all restore points. Do not
do this if you want to use the System Restore utility together with existing restore points.
Click OK, and then click Restart.
If there's no issue in clean boot, I suggest you double check the settings or the better way to contact the developer of the softwares to do further research on this issue.
Thanks,
Melon Chen
