HTML formatter in cfml-files

Hi everybody,
How is HTML formatting managed in cfml-files. Currently on formatting <h*>-Tags got a newline and I would prefer the tag to stay on one line without break.
greets

I'd like to follow up on that
If I write the following line in CFB2
   <h2>Slides</h2>
and then press <ctrl>-<shift>-F to format the code, I get
   <h2>
       Slides
   </h2>
Now I would like to teach CFB2 to keep
   <h2>Slides</h2>
How do I do that ?
I have been playing around a lot with the Formatters in the Preferences. There it works - but not in real editor life :-(

  • Change ctrl shift / from html comment to cfml comment

    Is there a way to make a quick <!--- comment (cfml) rather than a <!-- comment (html) by using shortcuts like ctrl+shift+/    ?
    I am used to adding comments around blocks and lines using keyboard shortcuts or clicking a button on dreamweaver.  Any way to manage these shortcuts?

    You can write an extension that defines a new language, maps the .cfml file extension to it, and defines "<!---" as the preferred block-comment style.  (The linked documentation refers to "Brackets," which is just the open-source flavor of Edge Code -- the instructions should work the same for both).  Because Brackets / Edge Code normally treats .cfml as plain HTML, you'll also have to write some code in your extension to remove .cfml from the list of HTML-language file extensions before you can add it to your new CFML language.  Overall, your extension would look something like this:
    define(function (require, exports, module) {
        var LanguageManager = brackets.getModule("language/LanguageManager");
        LanguageManager.getLanguage("html").removeFileExtension("cfml");
        LanguageManager.defineLanguage("cfml", {
            name: "CFML",
            mode: ["htmlmixed", "text/x-brackets-html"],
            fileExtensions: ["cfml"],
            blockComment: ["<!---", "-->"]
    Hope that helps!

  • Writing HTML data in TEXT File

    I am writing HTML content in TEXT file ...I read it in a string and then write using PrintStream...
    But it writes all content on one line ..I want to write it as it was in source HTML file...

    Perchance, the OP is referring to the lack of carriage returns in his outputted data, and querying where they have absconded to? An analysis of his posts to date reveals that he has read the contents of a File into a String variable, and wants to write the (presumably modified) String back to a file (uncertain as to whether this is the same file or a different one) In the process of outputting to said file, carriage returns previously contained in the original input file are not present in the output. I would hazard a guess that the OP does not want said carriage returns in the String to disappear.
    Is my analysis of the situation correct?
    An example of the code that you have written to date would be of extreme usefulness to us in aiding you in your noble quest.
    Without such a resource, I must rely on my intuition instead.
    Possible places that the carriage returns are being "dropped"
    1 - On reading in. Are you discarding carriage returns while building up your variable?
    2 - On manipulating. Are you processing this line by line, or reading it all into one large variable?
    3 - On output - are you using "print" or "println" in the output?
    I look forward to further correspondence with you sir
    kind regards,

  • How to get the source code of an HTML page in Text file Through J2EE

    How to get the source code of an HTML page in Text file Through J2EE?

    Huh? If you want something like your browser's "view source" command, simply use a URLConnection and read in the data from the URL in question. If the HTML page is instead locally on your machine, use a FileInputStream. There's no magic invovled either way.

  • How to get the source code of an HTML page in Text file Through java?

    How to get the source code of an HTML page in Text file Through java?
    I am coding an application.one module of that application is given below:
    The first part of the application is to connect our application to the existing HTML form.
    This module would make a connection with the HTML page. The HTML page contains the coding for the Form with various elements. The form may be a simple form with one or two fields or a complex one like the form for registering for a new Bank Account or new email account.
    The module will first connect through the HTML page and will fetch the HTML code into a Text File so that the code can be further processed.
    Could any body provide coding hint for that

    You're welcome. How about awarding them duke stars?

  • Rendered html pages in results file(html) not showing the images of origina

    hi,
    rendered html pages in results file(html) not showing the images of original page
    when i click on rendered html pages of different html section of a results file.
    both master and tested as well.
    thx
    pasumarthi

    By design, the report will not show the images, will not apply imported css or javascript files and will not show framesets. Also, in the case that an image is shown there is no guarantee that that was the image that was seen when recording/playback the script.
    The rendered html pages that are shown in the report only contains the structure of the html page. If an image is shown the image will be a reference to the location of the image and not a saved copy of the image as part of the report. If the website has a simple structure this can give an idea of what was different. If the website relies extensively on images, stylesheets or javascript to present the information then this report feature becomes less useful.
    Few weeks ago I requested a feature request in order to be able to see in the report the page exactly as it was when recording the script and exactly as it was when the script was played back. In the way that the feature request was written it specifies the use of screen captures or saving the page as a pdf file.

  • Add HTML Code to Flash File?

    Hello All,
    I am building a website, but am fairly new at it on flash... Am I able to add HTML code to the file? I am trying to add a code which creates a map from mapquest...?
    <iframe style="height: 270px; width: 450px;" src="http://www.mapquest.com/embed#a/maps/lisneyland:1313+S+Harbor+Blvd:Anaheim:CA:92802:U S:33.8127:-117.9154:address::1/m::12:33.8127:-117.9154:0:::::1:1:1::/io:0:::::f:EN:M:/e" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe><br/>

    Flash only supports a minimum number of html tags and they can only be implemented in textfields using the TextField.htmlText property.  "iframe" is not a supported tag.

  • How can i change the html, jsp, js, css file using ../tools/filemanager.jsp

    Hallo Experts
    I want to know how to get the html, jsp, js, css file using .../strategy/tools/filemanager.jsp? If I search the file such as "commentslist", I'll find the file. It is shown in the table with three columns:
    Column with trash symbol for deletion, Path and Date. But I cannot to fetch the file and saved local to make the modifications.  Could you tell me how I can get the file? Is there another way to this?
    Thanks a lot and
    Best regards!
    Ping

    Wang,
    If you are looking at the commentslist file with the intention of customizing, you would use File Manager Path to be directed to the file's location:
    \usr\sap\<3 letter CE instance>\J00\j2ee\cluster\apps\sap.com\xappscpmsm~strategymanagement\servlet_jsp\strategy\root\pilotworks
    Any customization would have to be noted, since upgrades will overwrite customizations.

[550 /index.html: Not a regular file]" What does this mean and how can I fix it? I need to be able to upload my website and it is not allowing me to do so.

    Hi
    Are you still facing the same error ? Also, have you tried to export the file as html , does it shows same error ? You can upload the exported html to your server using any FTP client as an alternative.

  • Vs 2013 community screws up formatting of html page when saving file

    I have seen other people having this issue with suggestions like 'Formatting and visualizations, tag specific options. However this is not solving my issue
    example
    I type the following code this way
    <asp:Panel ID="Panel1" runat="server">
    <asp:Label ID="Label1" runat="server" Text="Days Old " />
    </asp:Panel>
    <asp:Panel ID="Panel2" runat="server">
    <asp:Label ID="Label2" runat="server" Text="Days Old " />
    </asp:Panel>
    then when I hit save the code changes to
    <asp:Panel ID="Panel1" runat="server">
    <asp:Label ID="Label1" runat="server" Text="Days Old " />
    </asp:Panel><asp:Panel ID="Panel2" runat="server">
    <asp:Label ID="Label2" runat="server" Text="Days Old " />
    </asp:Panel>
    This messes with the outlining and makes it hard to see where controls like Panel2 is in the code.
    I am using a fresh install of visual studio community 2013 on a fresh install of windows 8.1 so this is not an issue with my istallation.
    I have tried setting tag Specific options with no change
    It doesn't do this every time or just on asp:panels
    I have tried adding line breaks and spaces etc. this doesn't help either.
    is this just a bug in visual studio or is there a general setting out of wack. I didn't have this problem with vs express for web 2012. but I did have it with vs express for web 2013 and community 2013

    Hi PBPuddin,
    Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
    Based on your issue, I tried to add this code as you said into a html page and then I saved the code. I found that the code formatting of the html page did not occur like you said that in VS2013 Community.
    So to check if this issue is related to the VS2013 Community IDE, I suggest you could try to copy the  same version of the VS2013 Community setup file on other machine and then install it check this issue again.
    (1) If you still get the issue, I assume that the issue maybe related to this VS2013 Community setup file, so please download it from Microsoft official website and then install it again.
    https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/news/vs2013-community-vs.aspx
    (2) If you did not get same issue, I suggest you could try the following suggestion to check the issue.
    (2.1) please try to open your VS in safe mode and then check if you install some add-ins in the VS IDE.
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms241278.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
    Or you could try to check if you install some third-party tool/ software on your machine.
    Hope it help you!

  • How to make Excel 2010 save a HTML report as a file without a folder created

    We have a HTML report generated by Oracle Report with headers as below:
    <html xmlns:v="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml"
    xmlns:o="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"
    xmlns:x="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:excel"
    xmlns="http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40">
    In Excel 2010, after pressing the "save" button (not "save as"), it will by default save the report as web page format instead of xls, a folder "xxx.files" containing some css, xml and html files are created
    in it. If user deletes the folder carelessly, the excel report cannot be viewed at all.
    In Excel 2003, we can save it directly in its original format simply by pressing the "save" button, without creating a folder. May I know if there are any options in office 2010, macro or registries settings that can make
    Excel 2010 to do the same as Excel 2003 when pressing the "save" button? Thanks!

    Hi,
    According to your description, you want a workaround to avoid creating a new folder when saving a html file in Excel 2010.
    In my opinion, this issue is more related to the feature of HTML format or Excel 2010 application rather and I don't think we could resort to a macro or registry settings to avoid that. I suggest you posting it in
    Excel IT pro forum for more effective responses.

  • Can  Java be used to save content of HTML form to a file?

    We have an application that saves a pdf file to a location on our webserver. The file displays on the users machine in a browser window. I have created a link in the links bar of the browser window which launches a simple HTML page. This page allows the user to enter a number of fields and click 'SAVE'. This is where I am having the problem. I need the save button to firstly create a csv file on the webserver containing the details input by the user. I then need the pdf file saved to the web server with a new name and in the same location as the csv file. is there anyway to achieve this using Java or can anyone please point me in the right direction?
    Thanks

    <<Click on the SAVE button in an HTML <form> and the browser will perform an HTTP POST of the data to a URL. Make that URL point to a Java servlet and it can take that form data
    <<and write it to the webserver file system in any format you wish, including csv and pdf.
    agree with duffy. You can also use JSP and call a class method to handle whatever data you specify.

  • Getting question marks in html output when xml file has an mdash or rsquo

    I have a java servlet that gets an xml file out of ifs, applies
    a style sheet to it, and sends it to the browser as html.
    I have:
    DOMparser parser = new DOMParser();
    parser.parse(XmlUrl);
    The characters ampersand, greater than, less than, and
    apostrophe work fine.
    HOWEVER, When the xml file has an mdash(&#X2014) or a rsquo
    (&#x2019) in it, my html output in IE shows up with question
    marks where these characters are supposed to be.
    Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? I don't understand
    why it would work with some special characters and not others?

    UPDATE
    Compiling from command line I found out that the class definition for oracle.oats.scripting.modules.basic.api.IteratingVUserScript is missing. Do you know what .jar file contains this class?
