HTML forms and tables w/Oracle

Hi,
New to Oracle - used AMP before.
My new organization does not use any open source so PHP is out. I assume I could use .net or java instead to DB query from HTML forms and render DB results to HTML tables.
But besides .net and java are there any other languages that work well with Oracle for this purpose?

Hi,
Apologies if a stupid question, but can you display a combination of data and image content in Portal HTML forms and/or reports? If so, how?
This question assumes that the image in question is browser-supported (e.g. gif file), and the link to it is in the same database table as the data being reported (as a bfile data type).
Alternatively, what if the image was actually directly stored in the database table as a BLOB data type?

Would this also work if the image wasn't a blob, but instead just stored on the filesystem (as a gif file), with the reference to it stored in the database as a bfile datatype?

Hi,
You can build portal forms to upload images. You can use blob columns here. You can also have images in a report. This will be the SQL to query data from tables having intermedia data.

Migration MS ACCESS FORMS and Reports to Oracle (Java or Forms or Reports)

Hello ,
can someone tell me, how i can migrate a whole MS ACCESS 2000 mdb (with forms and Reports) to Oracle.
I think i have first migrate the Access DB with the OMWB to Oracle and in the next Step to convert the VBA Code to JAVA or Forms9i.
BUT Is there a tool available for Migrating VBA code like the OMWB ????

I don't know if this is an obvious question, but do you have MS Access 2k installed on the machine you are trying to run this from? I'm assuming yes.
If you do and there is still a problem, you should log a ticket for support who will take your mdb and help out with the issue for you.

How to print out the Forms and Table fields relationship, data mapping?

I create a forms and tables relationship inside the Form Developer 11g, once I created the Data relationships between the form data field and the Table column name. I don't have any command to print it out, such as Layout Wizard.
Are there any programs on Windows platform can print it out?

Deploy 10g forms and reports in Oracle 11g

Hi, I'm working in 10g forms and reports development. However, in my company want to migrate to Oracle 11g.
My doubt is: May I deploy 10g forms and reports in Oracle 11g installation (Weblogis server + Oracle Fusion Middleware)?

I downloaded developer suite.does this developer suite includes 10g database also.becoz there are two disks for the developer suite whereas there was only one disk for oracle 10g datbase that i downloaded earlier and installed.if this developer suite includes database,reports and forms then do i need to uninstall the previous data base 10g that i installed.please help me regarding this.

compilation is by f60gen @ (is this right?)Correct, the syntax of using f60gen is explained in (Note: 130686.1 - How to Generate Form, Library and Menu for Oracle Applications).
The place where i am working has apps installed in IBM AIX server .. so how do i access Apps
or can i access Apps via TOAD.You will have to access the server using ftp to download the pll files to your local machine. TOAD can be used to access the database objects only (not the physical application files).

Hi,
Well you just need to create a directory in paste your forms there, and then make an entry in the formsweb.cfg file and forms.conf files. Likewise there are entries for the images and report.

HTML Forms and Procedures

Hello!
We are trying out APEX for the first time. We would like to keep our business data objects in a different schema from the APEX schema. I have been able to successfuly create a proc and create a form over the proc in the differenet schema.
I'm wondering if we can create HTML forms and later reference the procedure. The goal is to have the Database Developers create the procs while the developers create the forms at their own pace, then later wire that form to the proc. I hope this makes sense!!

Using VO as form and table on same page

Hi,
We are facing some issues while using same view object on one page. The view object is dropped as input form and as table on same page. There are few fields in the input form that have autosubmit property set to true. Now while entering the data into form, after clicking any autosubmit field, if we refresh the page, then new row gets created in table with value of the auto submit field. This is in cache only and not created in DB. We tried by exposing two instances of same view object in application module but still same issue. Finally we created two view object, one which is EO based and another ready only through query. Its working fine now. But is there any other possible solution, without creating two view objects?

The problem is that you can insert via the form but it doesn't update the table ?

Saving a PDF-form with nested forms and tables

I created a multiplaged form with a couple JS-functions to add table-instances and complete tables and a few more. I saved the form with additional rights to make sure my users can save the form and its content using Adobe Reader. Now whenever the form is saved, some - but only some - information disappears, respectively isn't saved but replaced through the default content. I created quite some forms before and never ever had this problem. I'm using LiveCycle Designer ES 2 )but experienced the same problem when using ES 3) and Adobe Reader X.

When you work with live cycle designer you create your form and you save it. Then, when you want to send it to people you use the assistant with create 2 other different files :
1) A publication form that you will send by mail
2) A blank form that you will fill with information the user sent to you
So, call the assistant create the 2 files but don't send them to people and save them locally. Open the second file and fill it in reader, you will see you will save change.

How To Deploy forms and Reports on Oracle 11g Server.

Can any one let me know how to deploy Oracle 11g Forms and Reports into weblogic server.
Prior to 11g versions, support formsweb.cfg,cgicmd.dat files for forms and reports deployment configurations. iam not able to locate these files in 11g.
Pl help me resolve this..!

Hi,
You can find many articles on oracle site for this subject.
However in brief following are the steps
1) Create a directory source,executables,images,reports and logfiles.
2) Copy all your forms, menus and pll's in source directory
3) All your images in your image directory
4) All your reports in reports directory
5) All yuor fmx,mmx and plx in executables directory
6) Any log files in logfiles directory
7) Add path of images and executables directory in FORMS_PATH in default.env
8) Configure your formsweb.cfg as your need.
9) Configure report.conf and rwservlet.properties according to your applications.
10) Make jar of icons say myicons.jar.
11) copy myicons.jar in forms/java directory
12) Check yuor form services if they are running or not.
13) Invoke the URL in internet explorer
http://<ip_address>:<port_no>/forms/frmservlet?form=testform.fmx
I think that's enough from my side.. For more info you can go through the documentation.

I have been pulling my hair out for the past week on this with no suces EVEN after forum searching, googling ..........
Here is the problem:
I have an HTML form of the following type and need to pass in a Javascript variable to the servlet called on hitting the submit button.

Please suggest any other suggestions.
