HTML in referenced items

Hello,
I have a few hidden items on my page that contain some HTML code from a table. I wanted to display their value in a HTML region, at specific places, so I tried to use the &item_name. method inside my HTML code.
The problem is that the referenced item displays all the html tags, whereas when I display the code into a Display as text item it displays it correctly according to the HTML.
How do I get the HTML tags to disappear when I use &item_name. in my code ?
thanks

Hello Denes,
thank you for your reply but it does not seem to work.
I ll try to summarize the situation :
I have a Html web page with content, text and tables.
I want to insert into the html page some data i have to pull from a Table. I have then some hidden items on my page that I fill thanks to a page process. Some of the items are filled with a loop with multiple results from a SQL query separated with <br/> .
when I use &item_name. instead of having value value I have <div>value</div><br/><div>value</div>.
thanks a lot for your help

  • Facing a problem in "HTML Standard Editor" item type.

    Hi,
I have been using an item which is of type "HTML Editor Standard" and I am using it to store a clob value into the database. The functionality works fine in Firefox but the value of the item is always null irrespective of whatever I type in that HTML editor standard item in IE. Please help me out with this issue. If you need more info on this issue, please reply me and I shall give all the input.
    Thanks,

I'm doing exactly the same thing at the moment in my application.
I have a table with a CLOB column, and I have a page that selects from this table using a standard generated Automated Row Fetch process. Saving the data back into the table is done with a standard generated Automatic Row Processing (DML) process.
It works fine in both Firefox and IE8.
What do your processes to fetch and save the data look like?
And what versions of the browsers are you using?

  • Error while using "HTML Standard Editor" item in "Array VPN"

    Hi,
The "HTML Standard Editor" item is not displayed properly when the person is trying to enter data, when he is logged in using Array VPN. An error appears in the item box "Unable to Process request. The requested URL has an unsupported encoding.". Can this be resolved? This error is appearing in Firefox, and in IE the box appears but is not editable,i.e Nothing can be entered in the box.
Please assist me in this matter.
    Thanks,
    Vignesh

    Vignesh,
I've worked with clients in the past that used VPN clients that attempted to cache and compress JavaScript code being sent to the browser. The problem was that the algorithms were terrible and ended up breaking the code.
Do you know if this is happening? If so, there's probably an option to turn it off. Take a look at the source code for the problematic page using the VPN connection and compare it to the source from a page without using VPN. If the page is really busy you can create a blank test page and add the item that's not working. That should make comparing the changes easier. Consider using a code comparison utility.

  • Add image/object in HTML Editor Standard item (apex 3.2)

    Hi,
I'm using the HTML editor standard item from Apex3.2.
I want the possibility to add an image/object in the editor, but I don't see that option on the HTML editor standard item.
How do I activate this option? Can someone help me out please?

    Sunenny,
Yes, it would take something like that. Another option, although not any easier really, it to use the latest CKEditor.

  • About Forms builder. what is a 'referenced item'?

COPY bulit-in exists for two reasons:
1.You cannot use standard PL/SQL syntax to set a referenced item* equal to a value.
    2. .................
Anybody who can tell me what is referenced item?
It's better if you can give a easy-understanding example.

  • Apex 3.0 Html Editor Standard item - Add feature.

    Hi,
Can I customize your new Html Editor Standard field? I would like to add some buttons that will pop-up window.
In futur, do you know if you will have package or something to customize the item ?
    Thanks

This cannot be customized. In a future release we might (might) have an editor that you can customize but we do not have that now. The very last icon you see in the Standard HTML Editor is 'Maximize the editor size' (looks like a window) and it will expand the textarea to fill your screen.

  • HTML Editor Minimal item bug

I have item of type "HTML Editor Minimal". I tried to insert a link into the text area box, but it doesn't work in Mozilla. It brings up the pop-up page when I click the "insert link" icon, but it does not fill in lthe text area with link, however the link is inserted in IE. In my applciation, I'm trying to insert multiple links and save them in this text area, when the user edits the page next time I would like these links to be actual url which are clickable in the text area itself instead of cut &paste of the link in the brower address bar. but the saved links in IE are not actual url which are clickable, they are apprearing as text links. any ideas are appreciated.

And like I said I basically want to put APEX text items inside Oracle HTMLAPEX can only handle items [created declaratively through the App Builder|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14373_01/appdev.32/e11838/app_comp.htm#CHDGFCGB] or programmatically using the [APEX_ITEM API|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14373_01/apirefs.32/e13369/apex_item.htm#CACEEEJE].
It looks like you want to create a Login Page. This is a standard APEX page type that can be created from the application home page: click Create Page >, select Login Page, and complete the wizard. The look and feel of this page is controlled by standard APEX [page layout techniques|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14373_01/appdev.32/e11838/ui.htm#BABJIECG], and the [themes, templates and CSS|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14373_01/appdev.32/e11838/themes.htm#CJABAEIE] applied. To achieve the required appearance in APEX, page and region templates and CSS can be modified to contain the necessary HTML and properties.
Try experimenting a bit with the above. If you hit problems, raise new threads dealing with specific, discrete issues...

  • Move test case with referenced items to another project

How can I move a test case with all referenced contexts and verifications from a project to another project? At the moment I have to move each single item. How can I do this more efficient?

    Hi Markus,
You can Export/Import it in a Test Portable format.
    All contexts will be included.
    Kind regards,

  • HTML Template for Items

I'm working on creating an HTML template for use with and Item type portlet on Portal 10.1.4. I have the items themselves rendering as I want with the layout I want but I'm having an issue with the item categories. Since the template renders itself for each item, how do I add the category to the layout so that it renders similar to the portal default, which is grouped by category. The category is displayed once and the items assigned to that category are listed below it. If I add the category substitution tag to the template the category name is rendered along with each item. If there are 14 items in one category then the same category displays 14 times.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish this? Thanks in advance.

You don't.  That isn't how Web Dynpro works.  The architecture is such that it abstracts the HTML/JavaScript rendering of the output.  You place a UI element on the screen and only a metadata reprsentation of the screen is created at design time.  At runtime different rendering engines can be applied to produce the final output.  This allows SAP to add new rendering engines and to improve the rendering engines over time without having to adjust the applicaitons itself. This makes Web Dynpro sutiable for producing Business Transactions, but not general web pages.  It also gives us the flexibility to render Web Dynpro in HTML/JavaScript, a desktop client (.Net 3.0 and WPF), and a RIA client (Adobe Flex).
You can alter the theme of the WDA application when running in HTML rendering.  The theme gets automatically inherited from the NetWeaver Portal - or you can apply a stanalone theme when running without the portal.  Theming allows for some basic changes of color scheme and branding elements - but is not the same as applying a complete HTML template.

  • BUG - Copy HTML region with items

When you copy a html region - there is the option to copy buttons and items.
If you specify Yes on items, and specify the same page number, you will receive validation error "You may only copy items to a different page". However, change it to No, and the items are still copied. In fact, the items are always copied whether you check yes or no to copy items. This is the case whether you are copying to the same page or not.
I don't have a problem with having the ability to copy items in the same page, in fact i'd prefer that. But currently, there is no option not to copy them.
    OK.. Test Cases:
    To different page:
Copy items - No; Copy Buttons - Yes = everything is copied
Copy items - Yes; Copy Buttons - No = items only are copied (expected)
    To same page:
Copy items - No; Copy buttons - Yes - everything is copied
Copy items - No; Copy buttons - No - nothing is copied (expected)
I have verified this bug on apex.oracle.com
Edit: I have not tested with other region types - only HTML

    Hi Trent,
Thank you for reporting this issue and providing the test cases. I have filed bug #13607613 for this issue.

  • Chart drilldown #LABEL# values gets HTML-ized in item assignments

I have a single series pie chart which has LABEL values of '< 7 days', '7-30 days' and '> 30 days', generated from a query like this:
    select '',
    case
       when time_spent < 7 then '< 7 days'
       when time_spent > 30 then '> 30 days'
       else '7-30 days'
    end AS cat,
    count(*)
from dataTo allow the user to drill down into the details of the chart, I created an Action Link set up as Link to Custom Target which takes me to an interactive report on another page. I set up Item 1 as an IR filter with the value set to *#LABEL#*.
All this works fine, but when the IR report displays, the filter is getting HTML-ized.
    By that I mean:
    '< 7 days' get set to '&lt 7 days'
    '> 30 days' gets set to '&gt 30 days'
This of course is then not returning any rows in the report as the values no longer match.
Is there any way to make the value that gets set in the item show the actual < and > symbols and not the HTML versions of them? This is occurring to me in Apex 4.0 and 4.1
    Thanks,
    ~ John

This has been resolved. For some reason the AnyChart template file in production was a different version. We copied this file from our development environment and now it works.

  • Problem referencing item variables

I have a few items in my app, BOOK_FROM BOOK_LENGTH BUILDING
when I reference them in a report query as
    :BOOK_FROM :BOOK_LENGTH :BUILDING everything works
fine, but when I try to reference them in some
    html region as &BOOK_FROM. &BOOK_LENGTH. &BUILDING.
only &BUILDING. is displayed.... they all look perfecly
    similar to me.
Any common pitfall I'm failing to see here?
Thanks in advance for the help

    Kuy,
If you reference them in an HTML region in a section of the page that is rendered before the items are rendered, they may not yet have values. The one that does work might have obtained a value from a previous page view or in a different way. It's not possible to give more definitive information without seeing your app.
