    Hi Guus,
    We are not using the new authorizations we are still  on 3.5 authorization and we tried for an user with SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW authorization , so i am not sure if this is an authorization problem.
    We have a new issue on hand, initially i was able to broadcast thru xml,mhtml, xml formats, yesterday our portal was down, when the portal was brought up, i found that even the ones that were working were  now throwing an error.
    I spoke with the basis person, and he told me user mappings were lost, but even after restoring the user mapping were restored we still have the problem.
    If this error is caused by lack of new authorization, atleast we know what we are dealing with, but for now iam not sure if this error is due to authorization or some settings on the web server side.

    HTML link to pdf works ok on Mac but not on ipad. Adobe Reader for ipad downloaded. What's wrong?

    Hi pwillener,
    Thank for reply. The pdf’s are in a subfolder “PDF” of the folder holding the web page. The web page itself uses
    . This works in full size computer browsers but not in an iPad.
    My excursion through the search engine has produced the idea of adding #page = requesting page to the URL but I have not had time to try it perhaps without the = sign.

  • Subpixel pdf rendering for evince

    Here is a simple patch for evince to enable sub-pixel rendering of pdf files.
    First you should replace cairo with either aur/cairo-cleartype or aur/cairo-glitz-cleartype,
    otherwise you will get ugly color fringes on your glyphs.
    Then unpack the source with makepkg -o.
    Edit the following patch. (e.g. some people might want  CAIRO_SUBPIXEL_ORDER_VRGB
    intead of  CAIRO_SUBPIXEL_ORDER_RGB. You can also choose different hinting styles:
    CAIRO_HINT_STYLE_SLIGHT,  CAIRO_HINT_STYLE_FULL or CAIRO_HINT_STYLE_NONE.

    Yeah I tried mupdf, its rendering is actually worse.
    I tried different computers and distros btw, it all looks the same no matter where and what I used. So I figure, there's nothing wrong with my config, it's just (currently?) not possible to have a better rendering without using acroread. Maybe I'll stick to it, but it's a pain in the ass to "maintain" as it's 32-bit and only in AUR. Also not open. And, even worse, adobe.
    Thanks anyway.

  • Fonts used in HTML rendered components not displayed

    Hi all,
    I have a problem using fonts in components with text that is being rendered by the HTML renderer.
    It's the exact same problem as described in this topic;
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=257&threadID=222691
    but no solution found...
    When I do this, my font isn't displayed (only the default SansSerif font is used at this point);
    JLabel label = new JLabel("<html>a text</html>");
    InputStream fontStream = getClass().getResourceAsStream("SystemVIO.ttf");
    Font font = Font.createFont(Font.TRUETYPE_FONT, fontStream);
    label.setFont(font.deriveFont((float)12));SystemVIO is placed in a JAR-file (loaded in my classpath).
    And when I do this, it is displayed correctly;
    InputStream fontStream = getClass().getResourceAsStream("SystemVIO.ttf");
    Font font = Font.createFont(Font.TRUETYPE_FONT, fontStream);
    JLabel label = new JLabel("<html>a text</html>");
    label.setFont(font.deriveFont((float)12));But the real problem here is, if one component is made with a HTML renderer, none of the other components can use a font if it's loaded after the FIRST component with HTML renderering is constructed.
    So, for some reason, the fonts aren't reloaded in the HTML renderer (is the html renderer native?) whenever I use createFont().

    Hi Sundar,
    if I understand your post properly, what your are doing in your BSP is executing a procedure to create an Adobe document, and then placing that document into the HTTP response.
    If you have built this code by following some of the blogs in SDN, you probably do something like...
    response->set_header_field( name  = 'content-type'
                                value = 'application/pdf' ).
    l_pdf_len = XSTRLEN( l_pdf_xstring ).
    response->set_data( data   = l_pdf_xstring
                        length = l_pdf_len ).
    navigation->response_complete( ).
    What this code does is change the type of the HTTP response to 'application/pdf', set the content of the HTTP repsonse to the PDF data stream, and finally signal the HTTP runtime that processing has completed.
    Once processing has been completed control is returned to the HTTP runtime. This means any further 'down-stream' code in your BSP will not be executed. This includes the Layout section of your BSP.
    It is not possible to send two responses, PDF data and HTML data, to a single HTTP request. If you want to show both on the same web page you need to embed the Adobe document into the HTML page using frames or some other method.
    Cheers
    Graham Robbo

  • HTML and Fillable PDF forms

    My question is two-fold:
    1. How easy is it to convert an existing fillable PDF form to HTML? What tools are needed to facilitate this process? I know Amgraf has a product that enables this, but I'm looking for a solution that perhaps LiveCycle can render. Is this possible within Designer, or does it require a different LiveCycle server component?
    2. Let's say I was able to achieve item#1 above... what is the process / script necessary to capture HTML form data and have it populate a blank version of an exisiting fillable PDF residing on a server? I understand there is some intermediate CGI script involved, but unsure how to implement this process.
    Thanks,
    Shaun

    You can use FormsIVS on LC server to see what your form will look like in html.
    Save your PDF as a xdp in Designer and copy over to the forms folder that FormsIVS uses.  I just did a search for *.xdp
    On my box it is
    C:\jboss-4.2.0_mssql2005\server\LC_SERVER\tmp\deploy\tmp262394240426adobe-forms-ivs-jboss. ear-contents\FormsIVS-exp.war\forms
    If you have LC server bring up FormsIVS in a browser.  http://LC_SERVER:8080/FormsIVS/
    If its your first time, goto Check/Change your preferences and set the admin user name/pwd
    then Click on Test your form designs link
    Select your form and for Output format select html4.  Click Use EJB or WebService.
    What you'll see in your browser is the form rendered by LC in HTML format.  If you wrote script it may not work in HTML rendering.
    As for populating a form, you should be able to use FormDataIntegration.Import/Export data or Output service to take xml data and merge it to a blank pdf.  You may want to map a XSD to the form if the structure is complex vs. using the out of the box form structure.  If you have acrobat you can see what that looks like by navigating Forms>Manage Form Data > Export Data.  Not very good if you've got repeating rows.

  • LifeCycle Form Server :- My form is rendering as pdf in the browser  without displaying data sometim

    LifeCycle Form Server :- My form is rendering as pdf in the browser without displaying data sometimes within data fields, and at other times it will display data. The form consistently displays data when rendered in HTML.
    We display the forms in a browser either HTML or PDF format based on the user selection. But the behavior of PDF format is not consistent. Sometimes it renders properly and sometimes the form renders without data.
    Dose any one experienced this issue?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,

    I have been seeing the same issue, but haven't been able to find a fix for it yet. So any info would be appreciated here too.

  • HTML component with PDF disappears on rotate/scale

    I have a PDF loading into an <mx:HTML> source.  This works fine.  However, in my multi-touch application, I need to drag/rotate/scale its wrapping container.  Drag works fine.  However, when it rotates/scales, the PDF disappears.
    From livedocs:
    "If certain visual properties of an HTMLLoader object that contains a PDF document are changed, the PDF document will become invisible. These properties include the filters, alpha, rotation, and scaling
    properties. Changing these properties renders the PDF content invisible until the properties are reset. The PDF content is also invisible if you change these properties of display object containers that contain the HTMLLoader object."
    Is this still a limitation on Air 2/Hero?  Is there a workaround so the container/HTML/PDF can support rotating/scaling?
    I want the multi-touch wall users to be able to make the PDF bigger, rotate the container/pdf, and drag it around the wall.  My drag/rotate/scale work very well on any other component, just not pdf.
    Please explain why it disappears and if there is a workaround.
    Thanks,
    Don

    I never did find a solution for this.  The Reader just doesn't support it.  What I ended up doing back then was to use ColdFusion's CFPDF tag to automatically convert each page in the PDF to an png, then do the touch gestures on the pngs.

  • Report Rendering (Print & PDF) trashes report that looks fine on screen

    Since installing SQL Server 2012 SP2 CU3 (11.0.5556) a number of reports look fine on screen but when printed or exported to PDF the format is totally altered so that either many blank lines are inserted between lines, or lines are squashed together. It
    doesn't affect all reports. Reports (both affected and not affected) use Tablix with both Row Groups and Column Groups. There is no obvious consistency between those reports that are affected.
    All of our SQL Server instances are hosted on VM-Ware virtual servers.
    I've raised the issue via Microsoft Connect: https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/1063641/report-rendering-print-pdf-trashes-report-that-looks-fine-on-screen

  • Is it possible to override the built-in PDF format handler with a custom IFilter for PDF?

    Hi,
    SharePoint 2013 comes with a built-in "format handler" for PDF now, so it can index PDF files out of the box. This is great for most users, as it now no longer is necessary to install a third-party IFilter for crawling PDF documents.
    My question is, is it possible to override the built-in format handler for PDF with a custom IFilter for PDF? I played with the Set-SPEnterpriseSearchFileFormatState and Remove-SPEnterpriseSearchFileFormat cmdlets. While it is possible to deactivate
    the built-in format handler, I was not able to remove it and to create a new one that activates a custom IFilter for PDF files.
    Background of the question: While the new built-in format handler for PDF will probably be sufficient for many SharePoint users, some need additional capabilities regarding indexing if PDF documents, e.g. extraction of custom metadata from PDF's document
    information dictionary and embedded XMP metadata. PDFlib GmbH, the company I work form, sells an IFilter for PDF, and of course we would like to continue to offer this for SharePoint 2013.
    Thanks
    Stephan

    You should be able to replace it with any ifilter you want, this is the procedure for installing it:
    Install PDF iFilter 9.0 (64 bit) from
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4025 (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4025)
    Download PDF icon picture from Adobe web site
    http://www.adobe.com/misc/linking.html (http://www.adobe.com/misc/linking.html)  and copy to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\TEMPLATE\IMAGES\
    Add the following entry in docIcon.xml file, which can be found at: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\TEMPLATE\XML
    <Mapping Key="pdf" Value="pdficon_small.png" />
    Add pdf file type on the File Type page under Search Service Application
    Open regedit
    Navigate to the following location:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office Server\15.0\Search\Setup\ContentIndexCommon\Filters\Extension
    Right-click > Click New > Key to create a new key for .pdf
    Add the following GUID in the default value
    {E8978DA6-047F-4E3D-9C78-CDBE46041603}
    •Restart the SharePoint Server Search 15
    •Reboot the SharePoint servers in Farm
    •Create a Test site (with any out-of-box site template) and create a document library upload any sample PDF document(s).
    •Perform FULL Crawl to get search result.
    Once the crawl is completed we will get search results.

  • Bitmap image won't show after converting HTML file to pdf

    I have a program which saves a technical report as a HTML file. I don't  have another choice as to file type to save as. This program has a  template which generates the report....and there are fields which are  filled in...some text fields, and one is a company logo. Just to be  clear the logo itself is not in the template, a holding place is there  which points to the location of the logo on my drive. This is all set up  by the program and can't be altered.
    If I save the logo as a jpg, png or tiff file, the logo shows up in the  final HTML report and if I use Adobe Professional (version 7.0 on Win XP)  to create a pdf the  image also shows up - a perfect replica of the report is created in pdf,  making it convenient for printing and email.
    If I save the logo as a bitmap file (which creates a higher resolution  and sharper looking logo) the logo shows up in the initial HTML  technical report, but when I convert this to pdf the file is not found,  instead it shows as a small square red box with the error "Bad file  image" or "unable to download image".
    I can't understand why this would be the case as the logo is saved in  the same location whether it is jpg, png, tiff or bmp. It just seems  that the Adobe Pro doesn't know how to "find" the bitmap logo from the  HTML template.
    I did try converting the HTML document to Word but it threw the  formatting out and when it was converted to pdf it cropped the page  & I wasn't able to resolve this...maybe it can be done but it is a  long way around in any case, particularly if steps then need to be taken  to correct the formatting.
    At the moment the document can be printed with success from the original  format - then it's a matter of scanning the printed document in order  to email. It can't be emailed directly because of the embedded  information which is lost if then sent to the recipient's computer.  However it would be nice if the doc could be converted to pdf which  would then make it easier to transfer the file to a backup drive or for  email.  Any ideas? Thanks

    Thanks for your response. Yes I did mean .bmp files.
    The problem is not getting it to show in HTML - but Adobe then picking it up from there. I guess though if it is not a standard format for HTML then maybe Adobe has trouble recognising it if it is there. Also, it is possible for Adobe to convert .bmp files if they are inserted in the HTML file, but I have instead a template with the code for the location of the file rather than the graphic itself.  I don't have this problem using the other file formats and getting them into pdf...it's just that the images aren't as sharp as the bmp. I have tried various formats and resolutions so if there isn't a way I can get the bmp from the HTML file into pdf I might just have to live with printing and scanning from the original. Thanks for your input, it confirms what I was thinking. I'll leave this unanswered for now in case someone else has further information.
