I saw the topic that suggested using a HttpConnection and a setRequestMethod( HttpConnection.GET), so I tried that without any luck.
I have a Visor Platinum (no phone attached and no Internet-browser included). I think I read somewhere that it should be possible to establish a network connection through the cradle, but I keep getting the "http protocol not enable. Please enable Networking Preference".
How do I do that?

How do I do that?Officially, the MIDP for PalmOS 1.0 BETA kVM from SUN does not support serial I/O communication, so you are out of luck here.
However, if you use the old kVM (CLDC + com.sun.kjava), then this is the unsupported way. It uses the com.sun.cldc.io.palm.comm.Protocol class to provide serial I/O communication. For more details, see this thread:

Why HTTPS is not enabled in the current design?

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am facing the following problems with the current SDN site.
1.) When i click Login in the home page, HTTPS is not enabled. I dont know why this is happening. In the previous UI version, there were no problems like this.
2.) When i search for some questions in ABAP GENERAL forum, and if i right click on a search result and choose open in new window OR just if i click on a search result, i am getting the link as:

Web Service wdsl file getting generated as a HTTPS protocol instead of HTTP

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement
I have created a web service in development client which is used in interactive adobe form.
After moving the web service to production only defination is getting generated.
I have tried to manually create the service in SOAMANAGER , it is getting created as with https protocol.
In development client it was created as a http protocol.

Hi Abhinav,
I'm assuming you don't have a QA system in your landscape if you're transporting straight from Dev to Production. I'm also assuming this because if you transported to QA before production you would have noticed that 'only' the definition is always transported. You have to do the configuration again each time you transport your change, this is SAP default behaviour because each webservice is client dependant so SAP won't know which client this service will be relevant for in the environment you're transporting to.
The HTTPS issue, this makes sense to me in the production environment. You don't normally have the HTTP protocol enabled in a production environment, only HTTPS for security reasons.
In yout production environment, check Transaction Code SMICM --> Got (drop down menu) --> Services
Check what protocols are active there (with a green tick). This will indicate whether the HTTP protocol in enabled in Prod or not.

Upload Error message: HTTPS protocol is not supported

   Whenever I do a quick par upload i'm getting an 'Operation failed' message to check sap-plugin.log.
   Log says
Upload Error message: HTTPS protocol is not supported, please ensure this server is not using HTTPS. My webdynpro applications are getting deployed without any issues.
     How to resolve this?

Hi Sumathi,
As there are often problems with the Quick PAR Upload reported, I would suggest to use the "normal" PAR upload from the icon tray (you have to activate the portal icons in the icon tray). That is almost that "quick" (one or two clicks more needed, we don't talk about more than a second) and - it works (it least it should, and at least it works in most cases even if the Quick PAR Upload fails).

Signed Applet not loading on Mac OS X if using HTTPS protocol

Hi All,
I need to open a trusted applet on Mac OS 10.2. The applet works fine if using HTTP protocol. But if the protocol used is HTTPS the the applet does not loads and "javax.net.ssl.SSLException - untrusted server cert chain" exception comes on the console.
The error comes for both - Verisign and javakey - signed applet.
On seaching for possible solution on the net, i came across following link: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20020525101202503&query=Workaround+for+secure+Java+applet+problems
It says that this is Mac's known bug and gives the workaround as:
1. Access the problematic site with Internet Explorer on Windows. Click on the padlock item and export the certificate to a file.
2. Copy the certificate to your Mac.
3. Use the command
sudo keytool -import -trustcacerts -keystore /Library/Java/Home/lib/security/cacerts -file mycert.cer
to import the certificate file to your keystore (substitute mycert.cer with the name of the file containing the certificate). The keystore is password protected - the default password is "changeit".
4. Restart your browser
But the client cannot be asked to do all this to run the applet.
Is this problem being solved by Mac in their java implementation or is there any other possible solution?

Some internet radio stations with http protocol and mp3 format not working in AIR 2.0

First, i am sorry for my bad english. When I publish swf for Flash 10 player all stations in my list works. If I publish them for AIR 2.0 stations with adress end ":XXXX", where XXXX is port number, they cannot work. What is problem? Thanks in advance.

Perhaps, in the previous post I wasn't clear enough, so I'll try to make it better: I am using the Adobe Flash CS5 and AS3. I wrote the script for listening internet radio stations. In the station list I named only those that use HTTP protocol and mp3 format, cause I know the limits of Flash in audio streamings. If I publish FLA file in SWF for Flash 10 player all the stations can be listened.. If swf file is made for AIR 2.0 there's a problem: the stations with adress http://xxx.xxx:xxx/<something> can be listened, and those without extension behind the port number (:xxx) can not. Main parts of the script are:

This should be considered a temporary fix. It will saturate your Internet connection during periods of WSUS downloads in this configuration.
The correct and permanent fix should be to resolve the failure of your perimeter device to properly support the HTTP v1.1 protocol specification (which is now some 14 years old).
Either your device is misconfigured, or it needs a firmware update to support the full specification.

Can you expound on what you mean when you say: But there does seem to be “disagreement” regarding whether RH supports HTTPS?
If you are only referring to this thread, are you sensing "disagreement" because Willam said you can serve content to users?

That made me believe you were referring to the Publish section in the Single Source Layout properties. (shown below)
This dialog allows you to specify a protocol used to UPLOAD your generated content to a server.
What Willam was referring to was the END USERS viewing the content AFTER it has been uploaded.

          And, I sepecified in my console
          Deployment-> Web Applications -> bv -> Target cluster -> bvcluster.
          I have 2 nodes cluster environment using Solaris.
          Each node has 1 managed server joining this cluster.
          What am I missing? Please let me know.

Hi,
You may create a cookie using ApplicationPool.createSessionCookie against an ApplicationPool instance. ApplicationPool's may be instantiated using the singleton oracle.jbo.common.ampool.PoolMgr (see the findPool javadoc).
Once you have created a SessionCookie you must cache it yourself in your client. Once you are done with the cookie just invoke oracle.jbo.common.ampool.SessionCookie.timeout() or oracle.jbo.common.ampool.ApplicationPool.removeSessionCookie(SessionCookie) to clean up the cookie instance.
Only use timeout if there is a chance that you had not released the ApplicationModule or if you expect multi-threaded SessionCookie use (timeout will force release and synchronize the removal).

Retry count and retry Interval fields in Business service (Http protocol)

Is retry count and retry Interval in OSB business services(Http protocol) defined for retrying the application errors or for communication errors?
Also even if my connection timeout is 0 I get an error response due to communcation issue in abt 2.5 mins.
Please explain.

- There is an explicit configuration on business service called "Retry Application Errors", if enabled application errors will also be retried.
- If timeout is not set on business service then domain level timeout configuration comes into effect which is by default of 180 sec i.e 3 mins.

Javascript is not enabled according to a number of apps, including synch.

I am informed by a number of apps (including FireFox Synch) that JavaScript is not enabled. I am running FireFox 33.0 on an ASUS tablet running Windows 8.1. I have re-downloaded and un/re-installed FireFox a number of times. These apps have run on other windows machines with no issues.

Interesting, when I go to the browser console, I get:

The character encoding of the HTML document was not declared. The document will render with garbled text in some browser configurations if the document contains characters from outside the US-ASCII range. The character encoding of the page must be declared in the document or in the transfer protocol. eASLRB.htm
The files eASLRB.htm, HTML.js, are in the folder in question. Never seen this before, but it sounds like a non-trivial error. Possibly a corruption of some sort when I copied from DropBox?

Using webgui with HTTPS protocol

I have a WAS 700 (abap + java) where I have activated:
- webgui
- SSO
Webgui works fine on port HTTP (8000) but now I want to use HTTPS protocol.
I have tried to change the instance parameter icm/server_port_0
from
PROT=HTTP,PORT=80$$
to
PROT=HTTPS,PORT=80$$
but unfortunately this is not sufficient or is completely wrong!
After this change webgui do not work anymore !!
Any suggestions ??

That should get HTTPS working in SMICM.
Also,
After the above configuration, you would also need to enable HTTPS in SICF for your webgui in
SICF ->navigate to /default_host/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/
Right click on the service and click on Display element, you should see a window where you can specify the service details.
Switch to service data tab (which is normally the first tab selected) on this tab , there is a security requirement box.
Select SSL over here.

Radio will not enable

I am running a 2106 controller with 1242 AP,
Had them on a POE injector on the same switch worked fine, mounted them in the ceiling now the radio will not enable."error in enabling admin status". any ideas?

Hi Paul,
I think you might be running into this issue because the 1242 AP supports the Intelligent Power Management feature (which I didn't even know existed until recently). Have a look at the following.
Power Issue with the AP
When an AP uses a power injector as the power source, in some cases, the AP displays this error message:
CDP_PD-2-POWER_LOW: All radios disabled - LOW_POWER_CLASSIC inline
This message indicates that the AP is in low-power mode with all radios disabled and detects a Cisco switch that is unable to supply sufficient power to the AP. Even though the power injector, which can provide sufficient power, is connected with the AP, the AP still displays a LOW POWER error message and disables the radios. Therefore, the AP remains in low-power mode.
One possible reason for this issue might be that the AP supports the Intelligent Power Management feature. The Intelligent Power Management feature uses Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) to allow powered devices, such as an AP, to negotiate with a Cisco switch for sufficient power. The AP supports the Intelligent Power Management feature. As a result of the power negotiations, the AP either enters full-power mode or remains in low-power mode with the radios disabled.
In this case, the AP might be connected to a switch which cannot provide the necessary power to the AP. Therefore, even though the power injector is connected to the AP that uses this Intelligent Power management feature, it gives priority to the CDP information to identify whether or not the switch can provide the power. Once the AP knows, via CDP message, that the switch does not provide sufficient power, it disables the radios and remains in low-power mode.
The workaround to this issue is to tell the AP to ignore the CDP information for power. You can perform this by telnetting into the APs. Issue these commands to enable the APs to use the power injector:
power inline negotiation prestandard source
power inline negotiation injector H.H.H
The power inline negotiation command configures the Cisco Aironet 1130AG or 1240AG Series AP to operate with a later version of switch software that does not support Cisco Intelligent Power Management power negotiations.
The prestandard source portion of the command specifies that the Cisco switch runs a later version of software that does not support Intelligent Power Management negotiations, but is able to supply sufficient power to the AP.
The injector H.H.H portion of the command specifies that a power injector supplies power to the AP, and that the AP connects to a new switch port with the indicated MAC address (H.H.H). Enter the MAC address (in xxxx.xxxx.xxxx hexadecimal format) of the new switch port where the power injector is connected.
Note: This command should only be used when you move an AP and power injector to a different switch port.

BitLocker not Enabled on HP ElitePad 1000 G2

I have an HP ElitePad 1000 G2 that I am using MDT to apply our 8.1 x64 Update image. This task sequence works fine on all other systems on which it has run. On the ElitePad, when the task sequence completes, BitLocker is not enabled.
Running manage-bde-status returns:

A successful system shows:
Attempting to intiate ProtectKeyWithNumericalP@ssword
Success protecting Key with numerical p@ssword
If I click Turn on BitLocker in the control panel applet or run the following commands:
manage-bde -protectors -add c: -recoverypassword
manage-bde -on c: -recoverypassword
The recovery key protector is created and uploaded to AD and BitLocker shows as enabled.
Any ideas to why this is happening?

after some more investigation, I found the following article
