Https transport support for JAX-WS WebServices

Hi All ,
I am trying to implement JAX-WS WebServices that support https transport .To do so I added the following annotation *@Policy(uri = "policy:Wssp1.2-2007-Https-BasicAuth.xml)* in my Jws Implementation file for the JAX-WS WebServices but I got parsing error.Can anyone please confirm that JAX-WS supports the policy annotation in Impl file.If it is supported can a link/pointer/example could be given to implement https enabled JAX-WS WebService and the required configuration in wsdl file.
Thanks and Regards

It does but you've specified a policy that uses both HTTPS and basic HTTP authentication. If you require just HTTPS use "Wssp1.2-Https.xml". In turn you must enable the SSL port on the WLS server. See this blog post: http://one-size-doesnt-fit-all.blogspot.com/2009/02/enabling-ssl-and-disabling-non-ssl_17.html
If you use JDev to generate the JAX-WS web services, given the policy annotation JDev willl put the policy in the WSDL file appropriately.

    For 11g, install the examples with a custom installation (have to specify that check mark that is not checked by default).
    The look here:

  • Authorization for JAX-WS webservice

    Hi, I am using weblogic 10.3.
    For my JAX-WS web service I am using @Policy(uri = "policy:Wssp1.2-2007-Https-UsernameToken-Plain.xml") for security.
    This policy authenticate all the users of default realm. But I want to restrict access to the users who belongs to a particular group only, How can I do this ?
    I tried using @SecurityRole but still all users authorized. How can I enforce authorization for a JAX-Ws webservice ?
    Thanks

    What type of ws you are creating in WLS 10?
    I think only doc-literal type of webservices are interopable between java and dotnet frameworks

  • Oracle 9iAS R2 support for JAX - RPC / B / P /M

    Hi,
    browsing the web I came accross to the following links:
    http://otn.oracle.com/tech/webservices/htdocs/wsvsm/wsorcl.html
    http://otn.oracle.com/tech/xml/htdocs/standard.html
    And it seems that Oracle 9iAS R2 supports the libs mentioned on Subject.
    From other channels I've been told that this is not true at least for some of them on OC4J 9.0.3/4.
    Can anyone please clarify this ?
    Aren't OC4J 9.0.3/9.0.4 part of 9is R2 ?
    Thanks.
    Giuseppe.

    Actually, JAXB is the preferred mechanism going forward with 10.0.3 JAXRPC Web Services(http://otn.oracle.com/tech/java/oc4j/1003/content_preview.html) - you will see in the XDK 10 beta (http://otn.oracle.com/tech/xml/xdk/xdkbeta.html).
    However, in 9iAS R2 JAXB is not built in ... if you want to go down this road you can try working with the JAXB RI.
    Our plans with 10.0.3 start with support JAXB in the run time but also within the design time of JDeveloper. The goal would be to model your schema in its new visual schema editor, have a design time option to generate the JAXB object model and then implement a Web service that consumes that schema. Of course this could be done out side of JDev - JDev just gives a design time rather than command line tools from the runtime.
    Mike.

  • Planned support for JAX-WS web services?

    Are there any plans for JDeveloper to support JAX-WS web services in the near future (https://jax-ws.dev.java.net/)
    I know that I can just import the libraries and develop code from scratch, but it would be nice if I could actually run the code in OC4J!

    Hello,
    As you know Oracle is commiteed to industry standard and Java EE, so we are (inside OracleAS and JDeveloper team) involve in the standardization effort and well aware of the Glassfish/JAX-WS code and features.
    Today our priority is really on J2EE 1.4 and we have delivered great tooling and runtime with 10gR3.
    We are working on different evolutions around Web Services and Oracle stack such as support of more and more WS-*, more interoperability, additional annotations to provider better development experience; and as part of this overall effort JAX-WS is also included. So yes we are planning to support JAX-WS but not release date yet.

  • HTTP Probe support for ISE guest service

    Hi all,
    I am currently trying out the guest feature of the ISE and I noticed that clients won't get probed via HTTP when accessing the guest portal and I am curious why? The WLC is currently running version 7.0.116.0 and thus is only able to support Local Web Authentication.
    I configured the Layer 3 authentication of the SSID to use External Web Authentication with the link https://ISE:8443/guestportal/Login.action where ISE is the domain name of the appliance. I also ensured to use the MAC address as the Calling-Station-ID.
    I successfully get to the portal, but when I check on the endpoint afterwards, no user agent is recorded.
    Is there any way to instruct the ISE to fetch this information via local web auth?
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Patrick

    we have a demo shipped with BPEL PM (samples/demos/SalesForce...) that shows how to use the API .. I believe this transport props should be fully transparent and should NOT affect the BPEL engine at all..

  • How to disable http for JAX-WS

    Hi everybody,
    I am facing the problem that I want only https (In the form of one-way-ssl) to be enabled for a web service. In other words, I want to disable the http part.
    For JAX-RPC there used to be the WLHttpsTransport annotation or ant element but they are not available for JAX-WS.
    I know I could restrict the http access by providing a policy file but this is not exactly what I want.
    I don't want the service to report back to the client that some security constraint restricts the access to http. I want the server to report that this ressource is simply not available.
    Do you know of a way to do this?
    Cheers
    Slawo.

    Hi,
    You can add the following entry inside your *"web.xml"* ...
    <security-constraint>
    <web-resource-collection>
    <web-resource-name>app or resource name</web-resource-name>
    <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern> <!-- define all url
    <http-method>GET</http-method>
    <http-method>POST</http-method>
    </web-resource-collection>
    <font color=maroon>
    <user-data-constraint>
    *<transport-guarantee>CONFIDENTIAL</transport-guarantee>*
    </user-data-constraint>
    </font>
    </security-constraint>
    Above will force any Http request to be automatically be converted into HTTPS.
    Thanks

  • Plugin non-HTTP transports in JAX-RPC

    Is it possible to plugin a non-HTTP transports in JAX-RPC?
    I know that Apache SOAP provides a way of plugin non-HTTP transports for it,
    Is there any document that can teach me to write a non-HTTP transport and plug it into JAX-RPC?

    You cannot plug in non-HTTP transports into the JAX-RPC reference implementation.

  • FileUpload using JAX-WS webservice on weblogic 10.3.5 is taking long time for files greater than 10MB

    I am trying to upload a file using JAX-WS webservice which is deployed on the weblogic 10.3.5 server.Even before the code reaches the Service Endpoint lot of time is being spent at the weblogic layer. for files less than 10MB the performance is good but for files greater than 10 MB it takes around 3 mins to complete the request. I did take thread dumps  and I see the thread servicing the requests is taking lot of time when executing SAX2DOMEx.characters  it consumes around 80 -85 % of time here. Is there anything that I can do to improve the performance here ?

  • OSB: HTTP digest authentication for WebServices

    Hi,
    How do I configure HTTP digest authentication for WebServices offered by the OSB (Proxy Services with WS as transport)?
    Best regards

    Did you figure out how to do it.?

  • Http proxy setting for webservice client.

    Hi !
    I have set the following option for accessing the webservice through the proxy(webservice
    outside the firewall).
    I'm using weblogic v7.0 with sp1.
    -Dweblogic.webservice.transport.http.proxy.host=xxxx
    -Dweblogic.webservice.transport.http.proxy.port=8088
    It works fine and my soap client is able to access the webservice lying outside
    the firewall.
    But when I use the same setting, the soap client fails for accessing the webservice
    which are
    inside the firewall.
    I get "Connection refused".
    Is there any option to specify not to use proxy for specific hosts and ports ?
    For example http.nonProxyHost
    Any pointers will be of great help.
    Thanks
    Kumar Raj

    I have not worked in SoA server, but since it uses weblogic server underlying (I assume), you can try setting the -Dhttp.proxyHost , -Dhttp.proxyPort system properties ( https for secured URL's) to WLS to specify the proxy details. Also the product might not have the capability to pass user credentials for authentication at the proxy. The version of OSB we are using had this problem. To overcome this you might require to add the URL to the proxy free list in your proxy server. This prevents the proxy from prompting for the user name when you access that URL.

    Hi,
    Can you just check your end point URL, and try with appending user name and password at the end of it as parrameters like http://<end point URL>&UserName=admin&Password=admin.
    Other wise check the SOAP request which is going to server using any tool as SOAP UI.
    Regards,
    Vikram
