HTTPS URL launch from a HTTP page link in new TAB

I have a table where a particular column having url’s. When clicking on a particular url it is going to new tab but suddenly after that it closed. If I open that url in new window instead of new tab it is working fine. Code for creating url is-
I called a JS function which returns the URL
<pre><nowiki>var link="<a href"+"='"+recorderUrl+"' target"+"='_blank'>"+data+"</a>";
return link;</nowiki></pre>

Tabs and windows should behave similarity, so that's strange.
I'm not sure I understand what the user is clicking: is it simply text which has an onclick handler to manufacture a link, or is it actually a link already? Can you post a clickable demonstration of the problem, or a snippet of the table on Pastebin or other hosting site of your choice?

  • Open page links in new tab instead of current tab

    Hi,
    I just upgraded to the new version of FF and when i now open links from my current page, they open on the same page rather than in a new tab.
    How do I fix this? I know that it sometimes depends on the page, but pages that used to open links in new tabs (and do in IE) open on the current page in FF.
    How do I fix?
    thanks
    amit.

    You can middle click a link to open the link in a new tab.
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Get a specific Http header field from an http request in a component

    Hello,
    In a custom component that I've created ( which extends ServiceHandler), I'd like to access a specific http header field from the http requests that this component receives.
    I assume this could be accessible through m_binder or m_service, but I didn't find any solution so far.
    Any Idea?
    Thanks in advance,
    Leo

    As it may help others, I answer what I figured out.
    Every details of the http request is put into the m_binder.
    So a specific field can be accessed with m_binder.getEnvironmentValue("My_data")
    You can also list all the available data as it is a standard properties set.

  • Open external url dynamic link in new tab  (no new window) in Chrome

    Hello,
    We need to navigate to a external link in response to user double-click in a row table.
    We've succesfully created the code to invoking a managed bean as response of double-click user event. For that, we added a clientListener object to the table object, and add the javascript code to queue the actionEvent for launching the backing bean code.
    In backingBean code, we execute code to calculate link url based on several conditions, (e.g: depending on a type object, url is http://server1/data.asp?param=..., or http://anotherserver/miApp/exp.cfm?d=2&p=..., ... and so on)
    Now we have the URL string, we invoke code to open the page in the new tab, but, the new page always is opened as a new window, not as new tab in the current browser.
    We have tried with several code:
    1)
    String script = "window.open('" + sURL + "');
    ExtendedRenderKitService service = Service.getRenderKitService(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(), ExtendedRenderKitService.class);
    service.addScript(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(), script);
    2) String script = "OpenNewTab('" + sURL + "');
    ExtendedRenderKitService service = Service.getRenderKitService(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(), ExtendedRenderKitService.class);
    service.addScript(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(), script);
    and adding the js function in our scripts:
    function OpenNewTab(url){
    var oFormNewPest = document.createElement('FORM');
    oFormNewPest.method = 'get';
    oFormNewPest.target='_blank';
    oFormNewPest.action = url;
    document.body.appendChild(oFormNewPest);
    oFormNewPest.submit();
    This function works fine in others app we have, but when it's invoked inside ADF app, we get a new window insted a new tab.
    We need to open a new tab, doesn't matter the method used.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks, but I also forget I tried before with
    var oTab = window.open(url,"_blank"); //and "_parent", and "_top"
    and doesn't work: The browser opens a new window, not a new tab.
    The same javascript code works fine outside an ADF application.
    Any other idea (using javascript or ADF backing bean code)?
    Regards.

  • Link in emails to open the link in new tab, not a new firefox window with home page,

    Link in emails open a new Firefox window with my default home page. How do I get Firefox to open the linked web page, in an new tab, as it used to do??
    This is for Win XP, FF 17.0.1, using Outlook as mail client.

    Do you mean the results from a search via the Google search bar on the Navigation toolbar or the Firefox Google home page (www.google.com/firefox) ?
    For the Google website you can set your preferences on the Google.com page via the [http://www.google.com/preferences?hl=en Google Search settings] link at the top right.
    Results Window: Open search results in a new browser window.
    You need to allow cookies for Google (Tools > Page Info > Permissions) to save that setting, otherwise you have to repeat it.
    For the Google search bar on the Navigation toolbar you can set the pref browser.search.openintab to true on the about:config page.
    To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
    If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />

  • Why does right-click & "Open Link in New Tab" make the original tab name to change to "New Tab" when I back-arrow in the original tab to reach the original page

    I use Google as my home page.
    When I do a search in Google I have a practice of opening the search links in a new tab by right-clicking on the link and selecting "Open Link in New Tab". That way I can examine multiple links from the search page, which is now open in the first tab.
    The problem that occurs is that when I use the back-arrow in the Navagation bar to return the first tab to its original page, I find the tab name of the original page to be "New Tab" rather than "Google" and I have to click on the "Reload current page" in the Navigation bar to return the tab name to "Google".
    I'm using Firefox-25 on a Linux-Mint 64-bit platform with KDE-4.9.5.

    The problem is just with the name of the tab, not with the contents of the page -- the page looks normal??
    I ask about the page because Firefox 23 seems to have introduced a problem with Firefox's "fast back-forward cache" on the Google search results page. It is related to the "instant prediction results" feature interacting with Firefox is some different way. • I click a link and it opens on the current page and a new tab, how do i keep the first tab on the current page and only have the link clicked on appear in the new tab?

    I go to click a link for any site and it opens the link in the current page and a new tab. I only want it to open the link in the new tab. I want to keep the original tab what it was.

    you can try to write some web driver to do this particular job for you, one such driver is Selenium. know more about it at https://code.google.com/p/selenium/downloads/list.
    But this thing will need a good programming skill. Otherwise you have Adblock plus addon (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/), you can try this. you can also contact its developer to include this particular facility also in this add on

  • When I right click and select open link in new tab, it leaves the page I am on and takes me to the first tab to the right

    I usually have many tabs open when I read the news, and it is nice to select open links in new tabs while scrolling through a news' home page. Lately, however, Mozilla has been opening the new tab, but switches the page I am viewing to the first tab to the right of the home page. For example, I had ESPN.com open, and then a few Facebook tabs after that to the right. Whenever I would select open link in new tab, the tab I was viewing would switch from ESPN.com to the first Facebook tab to the right, and the new tab would open a little further down the line. Any chance anyone knows how to fix this?

  • "Open Link in New Tab" doesn't remember first page in history

    I recently noticed that the "Open Link in New Tab" is not remembering the very first page in the tab history. The replication is simple.
    # Go to any page (Google works well)
    # Right click and chose to open a link on the page in a new tab
    # On the new tab, left click a link to load a new page
    # The "Go back one page" button will remain grey and you will not be able to go back to the first page for the tab.
    # Left click another link and the "Go back one page" button will now be active allowing you to go to the previous page, but not all the way back to the first page of the tab.
    This happens whether I use the middle mouse or a right click and chose open in new tab. It is present since I upgraded to Firefox 4.0, but was also happening before the upgrade when I was using Firefox 3.6.

    I have the same problem. There are two other problems that might be related. The first one is, sometimes it seems like Firefox loses focus of the page so if I try to refresh the page using CTRL-R or the refresh button, nothing happens. The only way to refresh the page is to hit CTRL-L and Enter as it you're opening the page again. The second problem happens when another window is opened (e.g. new window, new bookmark window from CTRL-SHIFT-B). When you go back to the original window, everytime you go to the tab that the new window was opened from, somehow Firefox brings the window to the front, but the focus is still on the tab.

  • Firefox 3.6.6 won't open links in new tabs or go back or forward pages.

    Firefox won't open some buttons or links in new tabs. I right click and go "open in new tab but nothing happens. Also, I cannot click the arrows to go forward or back in the top left corner, they are shaded gray.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == When firefox updated to 3.6.6

  • Stop Right Clicks from automatically Opening link in new tab?

    So Normally I would right click a link, scroll down to "Open link in new tab" or "Open link in new Window" ect ect. But now, before I can choose which option I want (tab or window) it automatically opens the link up in a new tab. it does it for every single link... Even if I just want to copy a link (left click and highlight) it will automatically open the link up anyway.. How do I stop it from doing that?!?! It is extremely frustrating.. I don't want everything I right click to be opened in a new tab
    Thank you ever so much for any help!

    Tried in Safe mode already and the problem still occurs.. I recently re installed windows on my laptop, and the only ad ons I have is flash block, ad block and adobe flash player. I tried with all disabled, as well as disabling all the extensions.. still same issue..
    I'm sorry this might have been important issue but I am using a USB mouse. the touchpad/clicker on my laptop works normally.. I can right click with the touch pad and it gives me options instead of automatically opening it.. could it be an issue withe the USB mouse? Ive never had issuse with it before I re-installed windows. the usb ports are kept clean and the mouse has fresh batteries..

    the user jay_ff shows how to do it using the Menu Editor Add-on
    1. Install the Menu Editor add-on from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/menu-editor/ .
    2. After the installation, go to Firefox> add-ons (or simply use Ctrl+Shift+A)
    3. Go to the Menu Editor "Options"
    4. In the "Main context menu," simply grab the "Open link in New Tab" and place it below the "Open Link in New Window"
    5. and Voila! You may also change other menu options if you want to!
    I tried jay_ff method first and found that indeed changing the Main Context Menu did cause the hotlink context menu to change as well.
