HTTPServletResponse.setDateHeader  messing up the date?

The code is simple:
     File f = getNewCacheFile((String)getProperty(CACHE_KEY));
long lastModified = f.lastModified();
     Date dt = new Date(lastModified);
     System.out.println(dt.toString());
     p_response.setDateHeader("Expires", lastModified + lExpireInterval);
     p_response.setDateHeader("Last-Modified", lastModified);
The date/System.out is for debugging (it prints out the correct value)..
Sample output:
System.out.print -- > Wed May 21 08:09:07 PDT 2003
Actual Header LastModified Header (received on client end)
Wed, 21 May 1983 15:55:24 GMT
any Thoughts on this? (the javadoc states that the setDateHeader does receieve a epoch time in milliseconds...)

Never Mind, the tool (NaviScopre) I was using seams to not be interpreting the last-modified field correctly. When I switched to Etherreal, it shows the correct values, and the proxy does in fact honer the correct values.

    Usually this type of thing is caused by code errors that DW is more picky about than the browsers.
    Run your page through the validator here: http://validator.w3.org/
    Clean out any errors reported. If the problem persists after cleaning the code of errors, post back and perhaps we could take a look at your code to see if there is anything specific causing issue.

  • Upgrading raid firmware messes with drive data?

    I need to upgrade both 1.5.0 controllers on one of my x raid so that later I can use then on a second x raid with 750gb drives. the second x raid is having lots of problems losing connection to a xserver and I need to pinpoint to see if it is a controller problem.
    the question is. upgrading the 1.5.0 controllers to 1.5.1 messes with the data and settings on a simple raid5 on both sides of the raid storage? I don't have the time and mainly space to backup the data.
    thanks.
    Nuno

    No upgrading the controller firmware doesn't affect the drives/arrays or data.
    That's not to say you shouldn't have a viable backup of your data, but it's not a prerequesite for updating the firmware. :)

    I have an iPhone 3GS that I dropped in water for a moment. After drying it and everything, it still does everything but get service. Can I back it up and transfer its data to a new iPhone 3GS? I heard something about how loading a backup from a water damaged phone could mess up the new one... is this true? I would truly appreciate the help, please let me know, thanks!

    Sounds like your phone is in recovery mode.  In this case, all data on it is gone.  There's nothing to back up.

    ICal shows Saturday, October 18th, duplicated at the calendar schedule for events. It brings trouble for every syncing messing up the events and crashes. When I open the calendar at mobileme page the date is duplicated there too. The calendars are only correct at my IPhone. I m a physician and its causing serious problems in syncing my appointments among my computers and devices. Could someone help me, please?

    should clarify that I deleted duplicate events on the ipod so that should have left one in ical. there is still one listed in ical on the ipod but not on the computer, so deleting duplicate entry deleted it entirely from my ical on computer and mobile me. no icloud yet

  • I have a problem related to the position of the data and controls on the screen - they have moved up under the time bar at the top of the screen and the rotation is locked messed up.

    This problem has only just appeared. When I call up a page in Firefox Home, from either the Tabs or Bookmarks group, the page appears vertically shifted up under the iPod time bar and two overlapping copies of the control bar appear at the bottom. I tried signing out and completely re syncing the data but that didn't fox the problem. Also when I try to rotate the screen, a rotated image appears underneath th original. This doesn't happen with any other app.

    I still don't have any idea what caused the problem. It didn't go away when I re-synced. However, when I completely shut down the iPod (64GB Gen4) by pressing and holding the ON/OFF button until it gave me the red 'slide to turn off' control, and then rebooting it from scratch the problem went away.
    It looks like there was some conflict between the system and the app that is going to be quite difficult to find. If it happens again I'll try to be more observant of the conditions and report more information.

  • After upgrade to 3.1.2, date pickers and popup lovs mess up the form layout

    Now there are new table tags around every single date picker / popup LOV item and its' list icon which forces other items on the same line to the next one instead. Bad Oracle, bad!
    Any workarounds?

    Hello,
    >> Now there are new table tags around every single date picker / popup LOV item and its' list icon which forces other items on the same line to the next one instead.
    APEX 3.1 introduced the use of the <fieldset> tag, for wrapping compound items, like the date picker or popup LOV items. In the following, you can learn more about it, including some workarounds:
    FIELDSET – new layout behavior in 3.1.1
    >> Bad Oracle, bad!
    For the very short term, and especially for upgraded applications, you might be correct; however, for the long run, this is a good move, because it creates uniformity in the ways we can handle all the APEX built-in item types.

  • A question about Logical Disk Performace collection Rules and how the Data is displayed in a Report view

    Hello
    I am currently on SCOM 2007 R2 CU6 and Window Server Operating System MP version 6.0.6989.0 (I cannot use the latest version of the MP as we still have some Windows 2000 Servers we need to support, yes I know :( )
    Any way the issue is, I have never found the Logical Disk performance counter data very reliable from SCOM.
    For example, I have a Windows 2008 R2 Server and when looking at a local Logical Disk (which holds an SQL temp DB on a busy SQL Server) and look at the performance counter
    The SCOM collection rule is called "Collection Rule for Average Disk Seconds per Transfer"
    The actual Windows Perfmon counter is called "Avg. Disk Bytes/Transfer"
    if you look at the description of the above Perfmon counter it is described as
    "Avg. Disk Bytes/Transfer is the average number of bytes transferred to or from the disk during write or read operations."
    The problem I have is as follows:
    The resulting SCOM performance chart over several days (which has a scale ox 1x) states the value never reach 3 (e.g. maximum wa s 2.7 say). I cannot believe the a drive holding the tempDB databases for a busy SQL Server does not transfer more then 2.7 "bytes"
    of data at a given to to its tempDB databases!
    Indeed when I look at Permon on the Server and looks at this counter over say 20 minutes or so, the figure is often in the 10,000 or 30,000 bytes etc. It does fall back to 0 (zero) momentarily but mostly it is in the 1000s, or 10,000s etc.
    Therefore when my boss says show me the "Avg. Disk Bytes/Transfer" and SCOM says it has not exceeded 2.7 over the last business week (i.e. the chart never peak above this value on the chart with scale 1x) he naturally does not believe it!!
    Any advice please regarding the above. Is it the fact if the counter ever falls to zero it messes up the SCOM report charts?
    Thanks

    Create your own collection rule, to mirror the sample times, and what not.  Look at the data from your rule vs the mp default rule.  It probably has to do with the chart scale imho.

  • The "infallible" backup system crashes and burns; how to transfer the data?

    After five years of exemplary, error-free service, my old Powerbook G4 1Ghz finally crashed during a backup to an external hard drive. I just bought a new Macbook Pro (arrived September 16th) and want to transfer the data from the old Pro to the new Pro. Herein lies the complex problem, and Migration Assistant and a firewire cable won't solve it.
    When the old Pro died, I was maintaining what I believed to be an infallible backup system (ha). I did nightly backups to two different external hard drives; one was a USB LACIE drive, the other a firewire LACIE drive. I used Carbon Copy Cloner to do a merge contents backup on the USB drive and a file-level bootable clone to the firewire drive. Surely nothing could go wrong. Oh, one only needs to think of the Titanic and say, “Something did.”
    The old Pro could only backup to the USB drive when using an express card that added USB 2.0 connections (the old Pros have USB 1.1 and they’re too slow). But whenever the express card was plugged into my old Pro and it fell asleep without my first powering the card off, the computer crashed. This was no problem; I just powered off the card before putting it to sleep and ignored the fact that the computer on rare occasion acted buggy with the USB express card plugged in. Well, on the fateful night in question, the computer did its backup to the USB drive and then fell asleep while it was still plugged in (this is what its energy saver told it to do, unfortunately). When I tried to turn the computer back on, a black box appeared in the upper left hand corner with a bunch of random-seeming white text and the concluding message, “Waiting for remote debugger.” The computer was frozen and a cold reboot was the only option.
    My old Pro would never be the same again.
    I tried to boot it up. Sometimes it did so, but then would suddenly show a red screen and crash. It kept crashing, sometimes just powering off immediately. So I brought out good old Disk Warrior, booted up with that, repaired permissions, repaired disk, and rebuilt the directory. I also booted up with the Tiger OS X install CD and fixed permissions that way just for good measure. The computer then started up fine. I thought I was back to normal! Celebration time! Not. The USB drive that I had backed up to would not mount anymore. So I, seeing that the computer appeared to be back to normal, just plugged in second external hard drive--the firewire--and began the bootable clone. It delved into making the clone without a hitch and I went off to work happy and content that I would have an up-to-date backup soon.
    Lo and behold, when I came back from work, the backup to the firewire drive hung midway through. It had done nothing but wiped the entire drive and copied about 500 mb of data to it before freezing. I tried again several times and, believe it or not, only got vastly improved results when the offending express card was actually plugged into the computer. By this mysterious and probably risky method, I was able to get some data off. But only about 1/10 of the whole. The old Pro always would crash before more than 5 gigs of data or so can be transferred.
    Starting from around that time, the offending old Pro began to exhibit hideous popping, gurgling, grating, clicking, swiping, and other sounds from the left hand side of the computer—where I imagine the hard drive is. These sounds can be quite loud and sometimes even sound like tempered UFO tones beamed down to the computer. Sometimes they aren’t present at all and the computer acts fine, until a certain file or folder is accessed, and then they start again and the computer hangs, going from fine to disastrous in an instant.
    I took out the offending express card and launched it away and took the USB drive and put it on another computer. It still would not mount. I finally got it to unlock (it’s a fingerprint-access safe drive) and ran Disk Warrior on it and was able to get as much data off it as I could. But it appears that a huge chunk of data was simply missing from the drive, whether from Disk Warrior having to delete data when it rebuilt the directory or from damage when the computer died while backing up to this drive, I don’t know.
    So now I went from a supposedly infallible backup system of two rotating external hard drives to potentially losing 5 years of utterly critical work!
    I tried starting up the old Pro in target disk mode with my new Pro. At first, this appeared to have very promising results because there was no grating or popping sounds from my old Pro when I did this. I began a data transfer with glee. But no luck; the old Pro always eventually hangs and the new Pro doesn’t even recognize it (the icon for the old Pro disappears as if I unmounted it).
    Sometimes the Old Pro can still boot up and seem to act fine; it can sit like that indefinitely, I'd guess; but if the disk is actually read and written to enough, it always fails. I am using it as little as possible now (i.e. not at all) so as not to exacerbate the problem any more than it already has been.
    Two quick notes that might further explain the situation: two weeks before the crash happened, I used iDefrag to defragment the drive. The night before the crash happened, I did a lot of work on my computer while on a bumpy trip on the Long Island Railroad. The computer acted fine throughout all this, but perhaps the bumpiness or the defragmentation contributed to this problem.
    I must get the data off. This dead/dying hard drive doesn’t just contain mere photos and music libraries and nifty applications. I’m talking completed and incomplete novel manuscripts, lecture notes, lesson plans, published and to-be-published articles, a massive thesis, and much more totaling literally thousands upon thousands of pages and representing more than 5 years of graduate and professional research and work. For me, the stakes are critically high. Thank you for reading this Hero's Journey of a post.

    Good news!
    Imagine a Venn diagram with four interlapping circles. The circles are:
    1. Catastrophically exploded hard drive
    2. Catastrophically annihilated external hard drive used for incremental backups
    3. Catastrophically wiped cleaned external hard drive used for bootable clones
    4. Email, CD, and iPod backups
    With a little shake, rattle and roll and other craziness you do with a hard drive with failed bearings, I got #1 working briefly, thank goodness.
    With Disk Warrior and figuring out how to surpass a fingerprint-activated security feature, I got #2 working in a limited fashion.
    With some workarounds, I got some use out of #3.
    #4 just is.
    The interlap of these 4 things produced about 95-99% or so of my data, including all critical items. It was a disorganized mess I just spent two days organizing, but I am back up and running without having to use expensive data backup services. I am slightly bothered by that slight bit of missing data, but from what I can tell, it amounts to nothing more than a brief sketch of a lesson plan, a song or two from the iTunes store, and maybe a handful of attachments. Nothing to spend big bucks recovering, in other words.
    Now I will substitute my "infallible" backup system with a new one:
    1. Time capsule/time machine
    2. Complete online backups with Mozy
    3. Occasional bootable clones to the external hard drive I have that didn't get damaged.
    I think this will be the ticket!
    Thank you all.

  • Does reinstalling OSX delete the data on the drive?

    Does reinstalling OSX via recovery drive delete any data on the drive? Basically, I think the install of yosemite I have now is messed up and needs to be redone. Safari doesn't open in normal start up mode but opens in safe mode. I figured a reinstall of OSX would help? Does reinstalling it remove all the data on the drive? Or does it detect that there is data there and leaves it alone? Thanks in advance.

    Hey Kpe413,
    Thanks for the question. Using the built-in recovery disk to reinstall OS X will keep your files and user settings intact. However, you should always make a back up of your data via Time Machine or manual methods in case you run into any issues. For more information, check out the following resources:

  • I ran my iphone over but need to access my contacts/info/pics. I have a up to date backup of my whole phone in iTunes but need to know how to extract the data and load it to my new desktop since it will be a bit before I can afford a new phone.

    I accidentally ran my iPhone over and can't afford another one for a few weeks. Until then I need to find a way to extract the data from my last backup in itunes. I can either put it on my computer or I've set up a cloud account that I was hoping could open it. So far I haven't had any luck with either. if anyone can help me out. I would love to get my pictures/videos, messages and contacts off there. The rest I don't care so much about. If someone could let me know if this is possible I would apprciate it!

    Thanks. I messed up with my husbands iphone because I was told the wrong thing. Now everytime I sync his phone it makes it look just like the other phone I had. Do you know how I can fix taht for his phone? Any settings I can turn off that will prevent all of my apps/contacts, etc from auto populating his phone?

  • Transfer palm data from PC to Mac without using the M100 - only exporting the data and importing?

    I had an old Palm M100 that I haven't used in a while but I love the palm desktop app - my PC currently runs 4.1.4
    I have a mac powerbook and I loaded 4.2.1
    When I export my calendar and address book data in the .aba and  .dba format from my PC - the Mac palm desktop app doesn't seem to recognize those file formats.
    Are those not standard formats between the two platforms?  It also looks like the Mac desktop app doesn't even recognize importing data from another Palm format?  It just shows the other program formats.
    Also, when importing as CSV or tab-delimeted those are extremely messed up also.
    Any "easy" way to get the data off of my PC and onto my Mac without using the Palm M100 itself?
    Thanks,
    Dave
    Post relates to: Palm m100

    The suggestion is not accurate, at least with respect to calendar information. I'm in nearly the same situation, and just tried it. (Saving .dba file out of Windows Palm Desktop 4.1.0, importing into Mac Palm Desktop 4.2.1revD.)
    First, the Mac program will not recognize the .dba as an importable format if one selects All Readable Documents.
    Second, if one selects All Documents instead, you get the following error message:
    The file could not be imported.
    In order to import data from Windows Palm Desktop software, export the file in one of these formats: comma (.csv) or tab (.tab) delimited, vCard, or vCal.
    The problem with this is that Windows Palm Desktop 4.1.0 offers only two options for exporting Date Book information:
    1) the whole datebook as a .dba file.
    2) individual calendar items as a vCal.
    So far as I can see, there's no way to Select All so as to export all as a vCal, and no pre-set option to do so.

  • Getting the data for last month of every year

    Hi,
           How to declare the date if we want to pull the data from the December of every year.
    For example if the query is run in march 2015 and they want the historical data it should pull only the data from dec 2014.
    In the same way if they ran the query in future jun 2016 and if they want to historical data it should pull only data from dec 2015.
    It should not coded manually. Please help me with date format that need to used.
    BALUSUSRIHARSHA

    Please follow basic Netiquette and post the DDL we need to answer this. Follow industry and ANSI/ISO standards in your data. You should follow ISO-11179 rules for naming data elements. You should follow ISO-8601 rules for displaying temporal data. We need
    to know the data types, keys and constraints on the table. Avoid dialect in favor of ANSI/ISO Standard SQL. And you need to read and download the PDF for:
    https://www.simple-talk.com/books/sql-books/119-sql-code-smells/
    A table has to have a key to be table.  Here is my guess at a repair job:
    CREATE TABLE Test_Data
    (pu_id INTEGER NOT NULL
      REFERENCES PU(pu_id),
     pu_date DATE DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP NOT NULL,
     PRIMARY KEY (pu_id, pu_date),
     x_count INTEGER,
     y_count INTEGER);
    Identifiers are not numeric in a good schema. What math do you do with them? They are also the key in the table that models the entity they identify. Where is the PU table (and what is a PU anyway)?
    INSERT INTO Test_Data
    VALUES
    (28, '2014-01-01', 10, 20), -- crap! No key in this mess!!
    (28, '2015-01-01', 30, 20), --
    (28, '2014-12-12', 10, 20),
    (28, '2015-02-02', 10, 20);
    A PIVOT is not a query and not even part of SQL. It is how Microsoft programmers who do not know RDBMS or have a report writer violate the tiered architecture of SQL. We also do not use XML mixed in SQL. It is a bitch to maintain, has poor performance and again
    violates the tiered architecture principle.
    A query is not sorted because it is a table. A file in COBOL can be sorted and that seems to be what you really want to write.
    Old COBOL love the Sybase CONVERT() string function to avoid SQL temporal data.
    We never use SELECT * in production code; Google it. Not only are you generating code, you are generation bad code.
    Since SQL is a database language, we prefer to do look ups and not calculations. They can be optimized while temporal math messes up optimization. A useful idiom is a report period calendar that everyone uses so there is no way to get disagreements in the DML.
    The report period table gives a name to a range of dates that is common to the entire enterprise.
    CREATE TABLE Month_Periods
    (month_name CHAR(10) NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY
       CHECK (month_name LIKE <pattern>),
     month_start_date DATE NOT NULL,
     month_end_date DATE NOT NULL,
      CONSTRAINT date_ordering
        CHECK (month_start_date <= month_end_date),
    etc);
    These report periods can overlap or have gaps. I like the MySQL convention of using double zeroes for months and years, That is 'yyyy-mm-00' for a month within a year and 'yyyy-00-00' for the whole year. The advantages are that it will sort with the ISO-8601
    data format required by Standard SQL and it is language independent. The pattern for validation is '[12][0-9][0-9][0-9]-00-00' and '[12][0-9][0-9][0-9]-[01][0-9]-00'
    This will port and waste time calling string function row by row.

  • How to get all the data stored on a table?

    Hi.
    I'm tryng to get all the data stored on a database table but I'm losing in trouble. I've looked for a soloution to my problem in the forums but each post I follow related to this issue gives me a different way to solve the problem and no one works :(
    I suppose I have to call the getAllRowsInRange() method from my ViewObject class. But how can I get an instance of my ApplicationModule in order to get the corresponding ViewObject?
    I think I messed my head a lot.
    Could someone help me please?
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for your answer.
    However, there are some things that I don't understand. I will look the book but why is necessary to create another ApplicationModule? The fact is that my application just have one ApplicationModule.
    Apart from that, I have tried your suggestion and I've obtained the quite little friendly response that follows:

    At that point, I think a better explanation of my purpose could be helpful. What I'm trying to do is just create a simple page with a command button, and in its action method get all the data stored in the rows of the table. I've seen a possible solution that I understand:
    DCIteratorBinding iter = getIterator("DatosViewObj1Iterator");
    System.out.println("Iterator Binding: "+iter);
    int startRange = iter.getRangeSize();
    iter.setRangeSize(-1);
    Row[] rows = iter.getAllRowsInRange();
    iter.setRangeSize(startRange);
    but the problem is that I don't know what is the class the method getIterator belongs to.
    Could you help me with this last piece of code? If not, I accept, of course, any suggestion. I am absolutely stuck.
    Thanks and regards.
