HU managed inventory Vs Serialized Inventory

I am looking for feedback on comparison between HU managed inventory and Serialized inventory. To which business scenario one of these are better placed than the other. Also if someone can share the Pros & Cons of these two way of inventory management would be helpful

Hi
HUM is used in conjuction to Wearhouse Management. Where as SrNo is used in IM at storage location level. HUM may be identified as Pallet, Container etc and quantity contained is already defined. Sr Number frofile is unique identification of each quantity which has same material number
If you want more detail then please inform.

  • Differ. VMI(Vendor Managed Inventory) and SMI(Supplier Managed Inventory)?

    Hi all~
    I'm beginner in SNC.
SNC have SMI scenario. But I think SNC-SMI is same as MM-VMI scenario.
    SMI
    ======================================================
    http://www50.sap.com/businessmaps/1D59B26B277611D5B359000102ACA9A3.htm
The SMI process is a supplier-driven replenishment and planning process, which is based on min/max stock balance levels, on current demand, in-transits and planned shipments.
    ======================================================
    VMI
    ======================================================

With vendor managed inventory scenarios, manufacturers can offer their customers a value added service by performing the replenishment planning task for their business partners.
    ======================================================
Anyone can help to verify differ or same?
    Thank you.
    SKY.

    Hello ,
To add to above two answers,in SNC supply chain is as follows.
    SUPPLIER -
    >       MANUFACTURE     -
    > CUSTOMER
SNC as an aplication will be installed at Manufatcurer site.
Now if Supplier is managing inventory for manufacturer than it is SMI.In this case supplier will login into SNC ( hosted at Manufatcuring site ) and manage inventory.
If Manufacturer is managing inventory for CUSTOMER than it is VMI.
Basically SMI and VMI are mirror image of each other.
    Hope it will help.

  • How to manage Inventory

    Hi All,
Is anyone tell me how to manage inventory by size and color in stock with same code. If you have solution then send me.
    With Regards
    Thanks
    Bibha

    Hi Bibha,
One code can only manage one kind of item. In you case, only if you don't care the differences between those sizes and colors, you may use one code.
Otherwise, you have to create different codes for each type to control inventory. You may use some kind of coding system to group the similar items.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • Managing Inventory

    Hi All,
We are currently in the blueprint phase. Our client wants to manage inventory/stock at the truck level. Warehouse Management is out of scope already. Will it be feasible to define trucks as storage locations? There may be around 2500 trucks in the company. I know the number of transactions users will have to perform will increase like anything. For eg if a material is assigned to a work order, it has to be issued from the yard (Sloc) to a Truck (SLoc) first and then issued from truck to the work order. This will be one pain point. I just want you guys to share your ideas on will be it fine or not to define the trucks as storage locations or if you foresee some disaster which I am not able to figure out right now. Kindly suggest.
    Warm Regards
    VT

    Hi,
It is possible to create trucks as storage locations, however if you think of it, number one you are not going to have real time when moving stocks in an out of trucks as that process will be performed by some at the head office.
Your stock will physically sit in-transit,however in sap sit in-transit refers to a different term,if you know what i mean.
I think before making a final decision discuss the above with the business.
Personally i dont think that is the best solution.Storage location should be a fixed location not mobile location, anyway that is my take.
    Thanks
    Silas

  • Application manager ask for serial no

I payed my subscription for Creative Cloud on 1. June and downloaded Photoshop Extended and InDesign.
Every time I start either program Application Manager starts with the message that the program is a trial version and I need to licence it. When I try to do so by inserting the serial no that I find under "My products and services/Creative Cloud" on adobe.com, I get the message that the serial no doesn't match.
Why? What do I have to do to register the programs within Creative Cloud?
    Sincerely
    Truls Nord

Yes I know… and I have done that, and done that, and done that… Every time when I have used the "Licence this Software" and logged in with my Adobe account details, I am asked to fill in a serial no. I fill in the only serial I have (Serial for Creative Cloud, according to my account at Adobe), and I get the message that the serial is wrong.
It shouldn't be like this, no, but it is.
Why did I pay for this when it doesn't work?!
I have now unistalled PS and try to download a new trial through Adobe Download Assistant (not through Application Manager), as is recommended in this thread:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4401858#4401858
After having downloaded the .dmg, the Assistant have now been extracting the file for more than 30 mins…
It's night here in Stockholm, I have an important deadline tomorrow (I need PS!), don't want to stay up much longer to look at the message: "Extracting… this may take a while" so I go to bet and hope it has been extracted during the night.
Adobe has created some great tools, but right now I am SO sorry that there aren't any real options to PS.
    Frustrated!!!!

Trial installed products like Photoshop Extended CS6 and InDesign CS6 shouldn't need a serial number to be included with CCM, you should just need to log in with your Adobe ID that you use for you subscription. There generally is a "License This Software" button you would use.

  • Order management / Inventory management

    Hi All,
I would like to learn more about these 2 modules from oracle EBS.
Can someone please recommend a good documentation? or something similar?
    Appreciated in advanced!
    Leandro

I hope you are referring a transfer order and the transfer between two storage locations connected to the same warehouse, and just not doing movement at IM level with a transfer order.
But, if you are referring to making a bin-bin transfer within the warehosue and you want to influence the storage location to storage location automatically, yes, you can do this. You should use 'storage location control' configuration under WM-IM interface to drive this. Essentially, you need to maintain the warehouse, destiantion storage type, plant, destination storage location and movement type 311. When you perform the transfer order confirmation to move inventory from a storage type (inventory is under source storage location) to the destination storage type (per the configuration setting) there will be an automatic transfer posting made to move inventory at IM level from source to desintation storage location.

  • Warehouse management inventory

    Hi All,
We need to perform inventory for specific range of material master code. With transaction LICC (cycle counting per quant) it is possible to specify a range of material code, but it is not possible to add new rows referred to new batch.
Can you please help me to find a solution to perform WM inventory specyfing a range of material code?
    Thanks
    Marco

    can you explain this part:
but it is not possible to add new rows referred to new batch

  • Exclude batch managed inventory from MI31

How can we exclude those materials that have a batch attached to them from being included in the MI31 selection when it creates thePI document? We have deactivated the batch management tick in the material master, however, there is still stock sitting in the batch so we want to exclude it from the count.

    Hi,
Though you have removed the Batch management  indicator in Material master, the created batche won't go anywhere. Stock will be present and will reflect in PI. If you set the batch management indicator in material master and once batch creared and transaction executed, you cannot deactivate the batch management. I hope it gives you clarity. Thanking you.

  • (VMI) Vendor Managed Inventory

    Dear Gurus,
I'm new to MM. I need your expertise to enlighten me on the VMI process.  We have a Supplier and we would like to implement VMI so that the materials are only created with PO and Invoiced at the time the materials are used for Production Consumption.
How do I set this up?  What are the prerequisites?
    Thanks experts!

    Hi,
This can be mapped as vendor cosignment. Vendor places stock at your premices. You will do GR for the material, but no accounting docs get created. When the consumption of that material is done through GI or transfer posting from consignment to own throgh 411 K movemet type. The accounting will get trigger. In mrko we will do settle. One thing is there is no invoice. Only settlement periodically in MRKO.
The prerequisites are Material master vendor master PIR )infocategory as consignment, price should maintain), consignment PO(here price will be picked from PIR, NO invoice Tab, item category K), GR and MRKO. For each movemet type special stock indicator as K should be used.Thanking you.

  • Vendor Management Inventory (VMI)

    Hi All,
What is the Components of SCM 5.0? SCM Planning,SCM EXe,SCM Collaboration and SCM Co-ordination(EM,PM)
    is right?
SCM is separate server or is it  integrated with BI 7.O?
Please explain and if possible please post some links.
    Thanks
    KN

    Hi,
The SAP help website would provide you adequate information. The licensing cost would vary depending on the components you would need  from the mySAP Business suite, which comprises of all the modules you have listed beneath. BI 7.0 can be integrated to SCM 5.0 and can be hosted on the same server depening on the grunt of the box being used.

  • Reinstalling, Application Manager says the serial number is invalid.

Let's start at the beginning: my hard drive crashed and I got a new one in my desktop iMac. I was able to save most of my files to an external harddrive, but none of my programs. I knew from previous experience with Adobe products that I could download a trial version and enter a serial number later. So I went to my Adobe account to look up what version of CS I had been running before, and it was 5.5 like I had thought, and the serial number was listed there as well! Yay! Then I went and downloaded the trial version of CS 5, not seeing a trial download of CS 5.5 available. I go to open up Photoshop, get the Adobe Application Mannager window giving me the option to either start a trial or enter a serial number. I entered the serial number associated with my previous version of CS 5.5, but then the Application Manager told me that "This serial number is not valid for this product," despite this being the correct serial number straight from my Adobe account.
Now, I realize the problem might be that I was running CS 5.5, not CS 5, which is why it's running into this problem. If this is the case, I am even more at a loss for what to do, since I did not see a trial version of CS 5.5 available. If this exists, please please link me to it!! However, if there is a way for me to get a new serial number, that would be great too!
    Thank you!

if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs5-5-direct-download-links.html
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem downloading, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com
