  • Substitution rule for STO - changing business area.

    Hello Experts,
We are transferring stock from one plant to another plant. Each plant is business area. We are doing stock transfer at some profit element of Rs. 250. Transfer is done from Business Area D002 to Business Area D001.
When we do outbound delivery, it posts following entry:
    Stock A/c... Dr (Business Area D001) Rs.1250
        To Stock A/c (Business Area D002) Rs.1000
To Profit on transfer (Business Area D001) Rs.250
However, I want to substitute business area for third line. I want that, business area D001 should be replaced with business area D002. However, there is some substitution rule for the same. Please tell me, how this substitution can be done.
    Please help
    Deepak

What is your price control for your material for both plant ?
What is the process for your stock transfer ?
However, as of my knowledge, you can't achieve this accounting entry in standard.
See, if you are using MAP for material for both plant, then accounting entry will be
Stock A/C debit for plant D001
Stock A/C credit for plant D002.
If you are using standard price for material, then accounting entry will be
Stock A/C debit for plant D001
Stock A/C credit for plant D002
Price diff account credit or debit (as per the price difference for material price for both plant).

  • After 2 years want to change depreciation key for a asset

    Hi,
For a particular asset we want to change depreciation key for this asset already we have posted depreciation for 2 years. After 2 years user realizes they are using wrong depreciation key now they want to change depreciation key for a particular asset.  In new financial year till now they have not posted depreciation .I just want to now what is the impact of this changes how we will adjust the value in future because previously they are calculating depreciation  1.63% now they want to calculate depreciation 3.33 % can any one tell me about the future impact of asset.
How we will adjust the value?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Neha

    Hi,
Does your user wants to post the depreciation for closed Fiscal years?
If yes First calculate unplanned depreciation for the difference up to the last closed fiscal year and post in the current year.
Now after posting this then change the depreciation key in the asset master and in the next run the system identifies the difference between posted value with the old Key and teh correct key and adjusts the difference in the current period depreciation run.
If the user don't want to post the values of the previous years, change the key in asset master so that the difference in the depreciation from the start of the fiscal year is adjusted in the current period.
Future impact if the option is second the asset life will be more when compared to the actual life. In first case there is no effect.
Provide Business with these two solutions and they have to choose between the options.
    Reward points if useful.

  • Structuring a Business Area for Reporting Periods and Points in Time

    Dear all,
I'm in the process of designing my first business area for discoverer.
The database is for people staying in accommodation over various periods.
(Anything from individual days to periods of 15 years!!)
The reports I'm producing fall into two categories:
    (a) Reports on periods of time such as:
Accomodation days during a year broken down by Region
Trend of accommodation days per month during a two year period
    (b) Reports on a particular point in time such as:
Number of people in accommodation on a particular day
I'm trying to work out how to structure the business area.
If I think about requirement (a), I'm inclined to create a view which
splits up periods into one month chunks (the smallest period I think I need).
By this I mean having a view which gives me a row for every month for which any period of accommodation is active. This makes reporting on a monthly basis fairly easy.
If I think about (b), I'm inclined to create a view which leaves the accommodation periods as single rows and then calculate a boolean field which indicates whether that accomodation is active on the date in question.
It seems that these two requirements need different structures in the business area. Maybe it's best to create two folders which draw on the two different views.
    Any thought would be appreciated.
    Regards
    Suhada

    Hi,
As you would probably expect, it all depends on your requirement and the table design.
You can create a date hierarchy in Discoverer that contains the day, month, year levels and this will make it easy to create reports with totals aggregated at these levels.
However, if your table contains, for example, the start and end dates when people move in and out of accommodation, then you will need to have a period table so that you can report on the months between the start and end dates. The period table will list all past and future months and you can join this to your data to obtain totals for all the periods.
If you need to have reports that display zeros or nulls for periods where there is no data, then you will need to outer join your data with a period table.
The decision on whether to use views or folders and joins in the EUL depends on the complexity of your data model. If you need to join many tables together to produce a single report, then you should consider putting some or all the joins into database views.
    Hope that helps,

  • Business area default in asset master record

    Dear all
Here is one ticket pertains to asset
when i create asset master record business area will be defaulted
the problem is when i upload asset master record through LSMW
by different business area the system throws a error message BUSINESS AREA EXISTS WHICH CANT BE REPLACED THROUGH LSMW
This is happening for all the asset classes
so i want to remove that default business area from where should i remove that which t-code or menu path
    regards ravindra kumar

    Dear ravinagh
removing of business area in asset master record is always possible but
see when u  r uploading bulk asset master records through LSMW we cant replace the business area  as it is already defaulted in asset master record
means some where we have assigned  the default values to the asset classes or some other master record
so we have to find out the source of the defualt business area for asset master record
when we remove this from the asset classes then the business area will not be defaulted so that we can upload assets from LSMW with different business area
so please try to find out the source....................

  • Post revaluation to selected depreciation area for an asset

    Hi,
We are using depreciation area '01' for posting to GL accounts and '02' for fiscal reporting. It turned out that couple of assets had wrong depreciation key specified for depreciation area '02', which resulted in wrong depreciation calculated for '02' in last 3 years.
We would like to correct it now, once we discovered this issue. One of the ideas was to create new revaluation transaction type which is active only for depreciation area '02', which will only change value of asset in that particuaral area without affecting correct '01',
However, after configuring new transaction type in AO84 and assigning it to '02' depreciation area in OAXJ, when I tried to run ABAW for this asset - it gave me error AA 380.
+Inconsistency between the specifications for transaction type Z11 and for the depreciation areas in chart of depreciation PTI.
Depreciation area 02 is defined (in Customizing), so that it is required to take over values from area 01. However, one of these ares cannot be posted to, due to the specifications in transaction type Z11. This combination is not allowed.+
Is it possible to configure postings only to one depreciaton area? If not - is there any other easy way of revaluating only one depreciation area for an asset.
    Thank you,
    Karol

    Hi Blaz,
Thank you for your reply. I am trying to increase the value of the asset in depreciation area 02, because due to wrong depreciation key it got fully depreciated last year in 02. I want to add the value to 02 which should have not been depreciated in last 2 years. Is there a way to increase its value using ABAA?
    Thank you,
    Karol

  • Changing business area on a cost center

We mainly use HR, but we use some FI/CO for accounting.  (I am no expert in FI/CO whatsoever - so please excuse any incorrect terms).
Our users have entered incorrect business area to a cost center.
This business area is now registered on employees, and payroll/posting has been run up unitil October 2010.
If I try to change business area from 01.11.2009 (realize it is probably not good to change earlier due to postings); I get the following error message: "Field change Business Area is not possible (transaction data already exists)"
In addition, the message says: If you still want to change the object, select a suitable change interval by choosing "Edit -> Analysis period...".  However, trying to change the analysis period I am told I have to choose year end.
    My questions are:
    1. Is there a way I can change business area from 01.11.2009 ?
    2. Is there a way to change area earlier - and if so, what are the impacts+
    I appreciate any help
    Kirsten
Edited by: Kibo on Oct 11, 2009 2:44 PM

    Hi Kirsten,
Normally, it's not possible to change business area during a fiscal year once there is already postings in this Fiscal Year.
The reason is to make sure that there is no change within the fiscal year since you then would have different postings - cost center belonging to different business areas within the same fiscal year. Meaning that it is possible to change the business area for the next fiscal year like described in the long text of the error message KS134. The reason is that it is to avoid inconsistency update of the table (COSS, COEP, or COSP).
Although, If the following requirements are met, than it is is possible to change the business area during a fiscal year with the
    help of the note 62716:
    1.  The change interval is set to period limits
    2.  There is no dependent actual transaction data in the change interval
        or afterwards.
    3.  There must already be an analysis period for the respective cost
center which starts on the first day of the chosen period. If this
is not the case, you can create one with 'Change cost center'
If the requirements are met, you can run the report RKACOR06 in SE38
safely. I recommend you to execute the report first with Test Run on
    your test system.

  • How to control change request creation for particular IBase Component?

    Dear Experts,
Can anybody suggest , how to control change request creation for particular IBase Component?
We have implemented ChaRM which is integrated with SAP ECC & SAP BI.
ChaRM is not integrated with SAP Solution Manager.
End Users are creating support notifications from -Help Menu- Create Support Notification.
The IBase Component is not editable once notification is created. This Ibase is copied to change request when the action-create change document is saved.
Requirement is that, during creation of change document, system should check the IBase component of support notification. If the IBase is related to solution manager system, system should restirct the change request creation.
Kindly suggest how to achieve this.
    Regards
    Vivek

    Hello Vivek,
The way to do what you want is to create a schedule condition for action Create Change Document. The action has to be displayed only when the IBase/Component value differs from SolMan. To add the IBase/Component value to the container so that it can be evaluated during runtime, you will have to create a subtype of BUS2000116 on which condition can be buit.
See the following posts for more information :
    Hope this helps,

  • Change business are in cost center

    Hi
How to change business are in the already created cost center ???? Pls advice
    Thanx

    Hi
SAP note 62716 covers this process to change BA if data already exists:
I have copied below in case you dont have access to notes:
    Symptom
When you attempt to change the company code or the business area in the master record of the cost center, the system displays message KS020 or KS134 because dependent data already exists, or the system displays message KS021 because the change interval is not set to the year limits.
Enhancement: As of Release 4.6C the report RKACOR06 is enhanced so that you can also change the master data from business processes (CO-ABC, Activity Based Costing) correspondingly.
    Reason and Prerequisites
For actual postings, the company code is updated in the document. It is therefore not possible to change the company code of the participating account assignment (for example cost center) later on.
The checks for dependent data, however, are carried out on year level. For this reason, it is not possible to change the company code or the business area during the fiscal year.
    Solution
Using report RKACOR06, you can also make changes to the company code and the business area in the master record of the cost center during the fiscal year if the following requirements are met:
    1. The change interval is set to period limits
    2. There is no dependent actual transaction data in the change interval or afterwards.
    3. There must already be an analysis period for the respective cost center which starts on the first day of the chosen period. If this is not the case, you can create one with 'Change cost center' - KS02 (for example, by changing the cost center manager).
If the system contains dependent planning data in a plan integrated version, any respective profit centers and extended general ledgers that exist must be restructured. For profit center accounting, you can use Transaction 1KE0 for this purpose.
Caution! If you change the company code of a cost center, a reversal of a posting in a different period can no longer be carried out if the cost center is assigned to another company code in the reversal period.
Report RKACOR06 is contained in the standard system as of Release 3.1I.
For prior releases, you can download the report from the FTP server sapserv3 from the directory /general/R3server/abap/note.0062716.
Report RKACOR06 does not generate any change pointers. Thus, if you want to send the change of cost centers via ALE, use Transaction BD16.
If you cannot change the BA for some other reason, please provide details.
    Regards, Elaine

  • Substitution of Business Area for Tax Line Items for Invoices posted in MM

    Hi
We have one Business Area for every company code. A substitution rule has been created to populate Business Area in Tax Line Items, while booking vendor invoice. The substitution rule has been defined as
    Prerequite
    Company Code = 1234 and GL = 1323232
    Substitution
    Business Area = 6668
The system is working fine, when the Vendor Invoice is posted through FI. However, when the vendor invoice is generated through MIRO or MIR7, the Business Area is not substituted.
In Table VWTYGB01, we have maintained BSEG-GSBER as a field allowed for substitution with Boolean Class 09.
We have created the susbstitution rule for Text and Assignment also and the rules are working fine for all document posted through FI and MM
