Hyperion Planning Audit Trail option has no Cell Comment tracking

Why there is no option for me to track the Cell Comment input history for the member combination?

I understand that I was replying to the clear details post, I don't see how that helps when you see what gets logged in the audit reports.
I thought the question was about tracking, the hsp tables only give the current view, no renames, deletes, if it is really required then you would need some type of CDC on the tables.

  • Hyperion Planning Workspace - Export option missing in IE 8

    Hello,
    I am using v9.2 of Hyperion Planning. I noticed that the option to export Financial Studio Reports in Workspace does not appear in Internet Explorer 8 while in 6/7 it did. Is there any fix for this problem or any workaround?
    Regards

    I doubt IE8 is supported on 9.2, I know there are patches for 9.3 though I have not heard about any for 9.2, suppose Oracle want to force an upgrade.

  • Audit trails in hyperion

    While generating audit trails for planning application, i enabled the option of Auditing->Data. I can also view the changes made by users in Audit records and audit options table in oracle database.
    The administrator requirement is that through the planning web, they should be able to generate such reports.

    The administrator requirement is that through the planning web, they should be able to generate such reports.Hyperion Planning can have audit report when turns on audit. However not sure there are ready-to-use reports showing the data records being changed.

  • "Open in Smart View" option. Hyperion Planning version 11.1.1.3

    Failure to download planning form to Smart View using the "Open in Smart View" option. Hyperion Planning version 11.1.1.3. Error message "Web launch operation has been cancelled.
    Your feedback is appreciated.

    I understand you are on 11.1.1.3.
    However, this is documented in the Known Issues section of the Smart View 11.1.2.1 readme and could be worth a try:
    When you try to open a Planning web form in Smart View through Workspace, you may get this error: “Web launch operation has been cancelled.” This happens if Essbase has not been added as a server in Shared Connections. Workaround: Open the Smart View Panel in Smart View and add an Essbase server as described in the online help or "Adding Essbase Servers" in chapter 2 of the Smart View User's Guide.

  • Cell Text Annotations of Hyperion Planning on Hyperion Financial Reporting

    Hello,
    There is a business requirement to show Cell text entered as annotation on each cells in data form to be reported using Hyperion Financial Reporting.
    Also there is a case of some of the data types being text. Some of the forms also have supporting details.
    Now I want to check how easy or difficult is it to report from Hyperion Planning V11.1.2 for the above mentioned.
    Are there any noticeable performance issues?
    Is it possible to report the cell text annotations , Supporting details & Datatype 'Text' from data form on Financial Report?
    Thanks in advance,
    XX

    I haven't used the text data type, however I have done quite a bit of reporting on supporting detail. All you have to do is use a Hyperion Planning data source instead of an Essbase data source. (and specify on the report to show supporting detail). In general, Hyperion Planning data sources are slightly slower than Essbase data sources. How much slower depends on a lot of factors, but supporting detail can certainly slow things down.
    One key limitation with reports that display this type of data is that it doesn't "roll up" the hierarchies. Your report has to be at the same level (in all dimensions) where the supporting detail was entered. So you can't pick an upper level Entity and show all of the supporting detail for it's descendants unless your report also includes the descendants. I understand why this limitation exists, but I routinely have clients that would like this functionality. (For Example - Show me all of the supporting details for the entire plan.)

  • ODI - Hyperion Planning  - Plan Type Option Missing

    Hi All,
    Iam not able to see the Plan Type option in the Hyperion Planning Application. For the application we have in planning has 5 plan types. A custom dimension is enabled for 3 plan types. When I reverse engineer the application under that dimension I should view Plan Type and Aggregation of that plan type. Currently Iam able to see only aggregation option of the 3 plan types but not plan type option.
    This plan type option would decide in which plan types members are to be created. "True" would create that member in that plan type. "False" would not create that member in that plan type.
    Any ideas ....
    Thanks,
    Ramesh

    Hi Willasi,
    Thanks for the update. I clearly understand the point you are trying to convey. Here is my scenario is that "Entity" is a standard dimension and "Department" is my custom dimension.
    As per your point
    "Entity" is enabled in "PnL","Capital","Workforce","Balance","Revenue" and when i add a entity i have a option to select in which database this entity should exist.
    "Department" is enabled in "PnL", "Workforce", "Revenue" and in this case when i add a department should that department should exist in 3 plan types is that mandatory.
    Is that any alternate option to enable that department can exist in one plan type ?
    As per my requirement some department should exist in one plan type not in other plan type
    Thanks,
    Ramesh.

  • Copy and paste cell content of web form of Hyperion Planning

    Our end users encountered performance issues in using the web forms of Hyperion Planning. We have some large web form with 60 columns and 100 rows i.e. around 6000 cells. When end user move around the cell they feel a slow response in the web form especially when copy and paste some cell content from one row to another, or a few cells from one position to other position.
    Anyone got similar experience in using web form? Also we understand that Hyperion design will check the cell content of each cell and generate a SQL query to the backend metadata database. It is quite time consuming and waste CPU resource because most of the time our end user will not keep the text information under each cell. We have consulted Oracle team and understand that we cannot disable the cell content checking via SQL query.
    Any workaround solution exists to reduce or remove the performance issue in cell content copy and paste?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    We had faced the same issue a few years ago. One of our geeks had done a change in either Enterdata.js or Enterdata.jsp which disabled form cell validation. I don't currently have the code with me but it wasn't a big change really, remarking a function could be doing the trick.
    I don't think this is officially recommended by Oracle though.
    AlpThanks for your advice. We will try to locate the enterdata.jsp and enterdata.js and found out where the SQL being executed.We found out the Enterdata.js under the deployment directory of Weblogic. However it is over 400KB size and many many lines of codes. We think that it is very difficult to locate where should be customized to remove the SQL checking on cell content.

  • FDM and Hyperion Planning Mapping options

    Hi, Good Day
    My team has an implementation of FDM and Hyperion Planning ver 11.1.2. We are basically using FMD because we need a place to maintain (user friendly) different mapping tables for the accounts dimensions, to be able to load data.
    My questions are; when loading data, do we need to always map all the dimensions? Is there a way to avoid it?
    For example in the model we have 300 accounts, 20 entities and 400 products. We need to map the accounts since they are different for all the entities (in the source data), however not the products. Therefore I want to avoid mapping the products (and maintaining this mapping) when loading the data. Is this feasible? Any ideas?
    Kind Regars

    Any dimension you have active in FDM i.e. constitutes part of the target reference for data you want to load has to be mapped. If your products don't need any transformation during the mapping process i.e. they are one to one simply use a 'pass-thru map' i.e a wildcard Like map with * as the source and * as the target.

  • Hyperion Planning JVM options

    Hi All,
    When I am opening a planning webform it is giving a message like
    The data form xxxx is very large and could take considerable time to load. Do you wish to continue? Yes or No
    my current jvmoption 7 and 8 are:
    jvmoption7 = -Dsun.net.inetaddr.ttl=0
    jvmoption8 = -jrockit
    Can I make those to
    jvmoption7 = 1024m
    jvmoption8 = 1024m
    Thanks in Advance,

    The link I provided should provide the correct details to update the jvm details.
    I understand that form design is important and i don't believe increasing the jvm is the answer to everything though I wouldn't totally rule it out, I have seen forms max out the jvm at lower settings but worked perfectly well with a higher setting.
    It is worth having a read of the following article on oracle support - Hyperion Planning Data Form Design Considerations (Doc ID 779502.1)

  • Data copy in Hyperion Planning taking long time

    Hi All,
    good morning.
    I am using data copy in hyperion planning (11 1 2 2) to copy from one scenario to other selecting account annotations and supporting details.
    The essbase part of copying data completed (checked sessions), but when I checked the job console in planning it still says processing for past 2 hrs.
    My java heap size for planning is 1.5GB and the backed database is SQL server
    my suspicion is that the issue was with backend sql. but I don't where to start.
    can anyone please guide me.

    I am working with version 11.1.2.1 and running into the same issue. The Supporting detail option works fine if the application has just a few details, let’s say 50 cells, but if we have around 500 cell with details then the copy process never ends, the details are not copied, and I have to restart the Planning service. As a workaround we are using a two steps process. In the first step we copy the just Essbase using the copy data functionality of Planning (with no data copy options enabled) or by using an Essbase calculation script. For the Supporting Details piece we use the Export for Edit functionality of LCM and export them to an XML file, and then we edit the XML file and change the source member name with the target member name, and finally we use the Import after Edit functionality of LCM. Of course if works only if the Planning application was deployed using EPMA.

  • How to view which users have logged into Hyperion Planning

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to determine the best way to view users that have logged into Hyperion Planning (who and when). Is there an option in Shared Services or can this be viewed through Planning by the administrator? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Planning has never been the best at providing that information, you can look at the statistics page in planning which is pretty poor in my opinion.
    The other option is audting but once again it doesn't really audit users logging in and out.
    Cheers

  • Prevent concurrent data update in Hyperion planning

    Hi,
    We have a Hyperion planning application with below features,
    Apart from the basic dimensions, there is a dimension "Item Code" with about 100 item codes as dimension members slay Item001 to Item100.
    A dataform where data is to be updated against an Entity, a Business rule is run to select the first unused item code dimension member from the Item code dimension for this data update.
    Assume the following combination has data
    Entity1 -------------> Item001
    Entity1 ---------------->Item002
    When the data form is opened to update data for any Entity and the business rule is run, the next first unused Item code will be selected for data update.
    Now, if two users open the webform to update data for Entity1, Entity2 respectively, the business rule would pick up Item003 the next first unused Item code.
    Entity1 -------------> Item003
    Entity1 ---------------->Item003
    This is not desired. How to prevent this situation. ?

    I am working with version 11.1.2.1 and running into the same issue. The Supporting detail option works fine if the application has just a few details, let’s say 50 cells, but if we have around 500 cell with details then the copy process never ends, the details are not copied, and I have to restart the Planning service. • Audit Trail on R12.1 (shadow table concept)

    I want to enable Audit Trail at table (column) level. Though I got response from Oracle Support but at present I am stuck on particular error. Here are the steps which I followed:
    1. Apply latest Patch 12860752:R12.FND.B - Latest Audit Trail Fixes for post 12.1.3.
    2. Enable Audit Trail on a table : I have set this for "PER_PEOPLE_F" tables of HR module
    a. (R)System Administrator, (N) Profile -> System
    Query Profile: 'AuditTrail:Activate'. Click FIND
    Set it to 'Yes' at Site level.
    b) Enable Audit Installations (HR)
    -- Got System Admin: Security:AuditTrail:Install
    -- Enable Audit Installation for HR
    c) Define Audit tables and desired columns.
    -- Got System Admin: Security: Audit Trail: Tables
    -- Query for user table name 'PER_PEOPLE_F' and add columns on which enable trail
    d) Define an Audit Group and associated tables
    -- Got System Admin: Security: Audit Trail: Groups
    -- Create Audit group for table defined in 'C'
    e) Run Concurrent program 'AuditTrail Report for Audit Group Validation' with parameter as that of Audit Group.
    f) Define an Industry Template contain Audit Group
    -- Got System Admin: Security: Audit Trail Reporting: Audit Industry Template
    g) Run concurrent program "AuditTrail Update Tables".
    Now, I am facing challenge at point (g), as, the concurrent request "AuditTrail Update Tables" is completing with error.
    And I am not able to proceed further.

    Dear Hussein,
    I followed the doc id: 727770.1 and as per note, I deleted the previous Audit data.
    And enabled the audit trail as per document to the similar table as mentioned in the doc. with similar steps. But still the concurrent request "AuditTrail Update Tables" is completing with error. Please find below the log file for the same:

  • ORA-2002 : error while writing to audit trail

    Hi all ,
    I am oracle 11g and on SPARC OS.
    I enabled audit in my database by setting the parameter audit_trail=DB and then i restarted my instance.
    On doing so the database started but whenever i am trying to connect using pl/sql developer , i am getting the following list of errors :
    ORA-00604 : error occured at recursive SQL level 1
    ora-00904 : "DBID" invalid identifier
    Ora-02002 : error while writing to audit trail
    ORA-00604 : error occured at recursive SQL level 1
    ora-00904 : "DBID" invalid identifier
    I checked on the net for ora-02002 and increased the size of the system tablespace from 750 M to 1000M.
    My system tablespace is dictionary managed.
    bounced the database also , but still getting the same errors.
    please help
    regards
    KKukreja

    But while going through the files i came across a SQL file that had this content :
    more move_audit.sql
    create table system.aud$
    tablespace AUD_TSP
    as select * from aud$;
    create index system.i_aud1 on system.aud$(sessionid, ses$tid);
    rename aud$ to aud$_temp;
    create view aud$ as
    select * from system.aud$;
    connect system/XXXXX
    grant all on aud$ to sys with grant option;
    grant delete on aud$ to delete_catalog_role;Now I am not sure what has happened and who has done what,but when i checked on TOAD, system tablespace had aud$ table and there was no table in tablespace AUD_TSP.
    thanks and regards

  • KM for File to Hyperion Planning

    All,
    I am trying to load a file to a Hyperion Planning application.
    I have successfully reverse engineered the planning application, to a planning data model.
    I am now loading back the Entity Data store (from the reverse engineered Planning data model), to a different planning application with the top level members/dimensions created.
    I have imported the Integration KM (IKM File to Hyperion Planning), in the integration project.
    I am using a file exported from DRM as a source, and have a File Data server, related topology and a data store created for it.
    I have created an interface, and done the below:
    - Selected the option "Staging Area Different from Target"
    - Selected the File Logical schema I created as part of the topology for the File source.
    - I have mapped all source columns to target ones, the target has more columns than the source, but I have un checked the "Active Mapping" box on the unmapped target columns.
    - On the Flow tab, I have selected the IKM "IKM File to Hyperion Planning" on the target.
    - No CKM imported or selected on the "Controls" tab.
    When I execute, nothing gets updated or inserted or deleted.
    I am not sure what the problem is, can anyone tell me what I may be doing wrong, or where I should start looking for clues.
    THanks,
    ANindyo

    John,
    The execution shows successful in the Operator, no errors.
    But it looks like nothing was inserted, and thats why there were no errors.
    I have enabled logs for the environment, tools->preferences and Environment->Logs, but no logs get generated there.
    Were you referring to the same thing?
    Thanks,
    Anindyo
