Hyperion S9 Shared Services Error

Hi All,
I have been faced with some problem pertaining to Shared Services 9.3.1
The OpenLDAP services work perfectly fine, but the Shared Services throws an error " Some services stop automaticaly when there is no work to be done "
I have done the following till date:
1) Reconfigure Shared Services
2) Re-install Shared Services
3) Create a new user and configure
4) Restart system
5) Recover Shared Services
However despite having tried the above measures, it has failed to respond, and continues to throw the same error.
Kindly help me resolve the same.

but if u r trying to install for practice .. you can install in Windows XP Prof sp3.
I installed on my machine and its working....
I had the same problem in my server Windows 2003 SP4.
I renamed the folder C:\Hyperion to C:\Hyperion_old and tried to reinstall the Hyperion SS and ES, AAS once again... now its working... in your installation there may be some problems with the register entires....
1 whole week I fedup with this installation and I thought to rename the current Hyperion home and redo the process with new home....
I accept completely with Sandeep... but if u r installing in your local machine try once again... if u r getting the same problem them change the OS....

Hi All,
When I am trying to resync my securioty from HSS 11.1.1.1 to my essbase 9.3.1 I am getting this folowing error.
hyperion shared services error 1051522 - Analytical Services failed to get group's member tree with Error MSAD porvider could not be contacted
I have already checked for any corrupt application on essbase but alll the esssbase apps are fine.

Hyperion Shared services Error (9.3.1)

I have registered the essbase analytic services with shared services. when i select the Analytic serviecs application through the shared services windows i am getting the hyperion shared services error "Unable to connect the application.Please contact the serevr administrator" and also i am geting Network Error (dns_unresolved_hostname)
Your requested host "server name" could not be resolved by DNS.
Please help.

Hyperion S9 Shared Services service stops automaticaly

Hi,
I have installed and configured Hyperion Shared Services 9.3.1 alone on one server. When I restart the services , The service Hyperion S9 OpenLDAP works perfectly, whereas Hyperion S9 Shared Services does not. Once I do a refresh the status is again stopped. And I have to reset IIS and start and stop the services several times before it become stable. Any idea what could be the problem?

Hi John,
I tried to stop and start it from Start Menu. Stopping was normal took few seconds. But starting looks problematic. The process started at 6.15 AM UK time today and is still running. It is 7.10 AM UK time now.

Hyperion Shared Services Error

Guys,
I had configured MSAD external authentication in Hyperion Shared Services 9.3.1. I am also able to see the groups and users in the shared services.
I provisioned one of the group with Essbase Admin, and HSS Admin. but when i tried to login to the Shared services with a userID in that group, HSS is showing the error "User: XXXX, not found"
CSS.xml file seems to be fine to me. Users in Native authentication are working fine.

As informed earlier you could refer this link http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/hyperion-supported-platforms-085957.html which will have the corresponding version support matrices (In your case 9.3.1 or 9.3.3) which will help you to find out which OS and which browsers can be used.

Shared services error while installing hyperion system 9.0 using websphere

They both seem accurate to my knowledge. If you can afford the space you may also want to try temporarily installing to the default location. This would help further determine if the customized location is what is causing your difficulties.

Shared Services error

We "implemented" https this morning on our 2 HFM web servers. When trying to set up security for one of the HFM applications (under Projects in Shared Services), I get this message. I just have an idea that it has to do with the https implementation on the HFM web servers :

Shared Services Error: Failed to load Tree

Hi All,
I am trying to open up an application in Shared services under the projects folder:
path : Projects -> Analytic Servers:<Server Name> -> <Application>
When I do this the page just keeps loading for a very long time and then gives me an error which says "Failed to load Tree"
Can anyone help me out on what the problem is here?
The exact error message is : "There was a communication error while loading tree data"

Which operating system are you working on, I remember some one faced same problem when it was solaris, am not very sure though.I guess , it has something to do with 'Hyperion Remote Authentication Module'.

SmartView Connection to Shared Services Error

I have installed 11.1.2 on Windows 2008 (64bit) in stand-alone mode. I also have Excel 2007 installed on the same machine. I took all of the default ports when setting up the server instance. I installed SmartView(32bit) on the same machine with no errors. When I try to connect to "Shared Connctions" through the SmartView home window, I keep receiveing an error message: "Connection to Shared Services failed Error Message: 'Cannot connect to provider. The server name could not be resolved.' I have tried replacing the server name with it's physical IP address,; I have tried all of the typical ports; but cannot seem to resolve the problem. My URL reads as follows: "http://testsys:13080/workspace/SmartViewProviders' I have a 11.1.1.3 instance on another server works fine, but the URL is a bit different (http://server:13080/aps/SmartView). Any help would be appreciated.

Did you assign your Hyperion Provider Services URL?
I am guessing that 11.1.2 hasn't changed that much from 11.1.1.3.
In 11.1.1.3, it's under Options and is in the lower right hand side of the Options form.
When you have that set, and then click the Connect button in the Data Source Manager, and then Connect to Provider Services, what happens?
You should see: Oracle BI Server, Oracle Essbase, and Oracle Planning. Do you get that far?

Shared Service Error 11.1.2

Hello All,
I created a native group in shared services & provisioned administrator role for each application to the group. I assigned few users to that group. When i log in to the planning I get an error Failed to sync User Provisioning. I checked the
users on Essbase side & all of them show Essbase & Planning access.
I m using planning 11.1.2. Please let me know if there is anything more that i need for the synchronization of users?

Thanks for your reply, Oracle support just got us a workaround yesterday as well. But they haven't specify what's the cause of this. they were just comparing the .jar
Resolution:
1. Deleted the css.jar from Oracle/Middleware/EPMSystem11R1/common/jlib/11.1.2.0
2. Deleted the tmp directory under Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\epmsystem\servers\FoundationServices0

The Applications which we have created are not seen in the dropdown.No applications available is being seen there. Even when we tried to open the shared services
it says There is communication erro in loading the tree data.

Have you tried restarting openldap and shared services. Have you tried running shared services in the foreground to see if anything is logged to the command window.

Shared service error

I am using HFM 11.1.1.2 version and able to access my application in workspace.
In shared sevices,when I right click the application and select Assign access control, it will show the following error.

Then I have browsed "launcher.asp",it will show the following error.

Anyone could help me for this?

I get a similar error, but if I right click on the app and select 'Assign Access Control' a second time the page loads fine. You may try that. I'm not sure why this happens, but it's not a show stopper so I haven't made time to dig into it.

Hyperion Shared Services getting HTTP404 error

Hi All,
I am trying to get Hyperion 11 Shared Services working, however i am getting this http://404 error.
I am using Web Sphere as my web agent, i have check and validated during the configuration and all is good,
except for the 404 error.
Does anyone know what i should do next.

Hi Sriram,
We have done the validation and it does not fail in any of the steps. We have also double checked on the new ports for Hyperion 11 but are still getting the same error. Do you have any other suggestions as we are running out of ideas here.
