Hyperlinks changing color

Whenever I validate that links are pointing to the correct
files by using the "Insert or Edit Hyperlink" button it changes the
font color of my link when I exit that function. I am using a CSS
and it is ignoring the colors that I have in there. Is there a way
to prevent this?

Two things about hyperlinks in the css file:
Whichever link states you do not configure will often revert
to the browser default.
Your link styles (dynamic pseudo-classes) must appear in
"LoVe HAte" order (
Link,
Visited,
Hover,
Active).
a:link {
a:visited {
a:hover {
a:active {
} (a:active is rarely used, so it's usually just LVH)
Good luck,

  • Why don't my hyperlinks change color?

    My hyperlinks don't change color when I try them in a browser or on my iWeb site. They all work fine but I don"t get that satisfying color change. I am using iWeb 06. Do I have to upgrade to 08?

    If it's not your taste it's unsatisfying and problematic to you which should be enough to justify a inquiry towards solution without option about what others think is unsatisfying or not to them.
    You posted about iWeb '06 here's a solution for said version.
    When you Publish from iWeb you get a .HTML file and a .CSS file for each page you've created.  The CSS is the styles for each of your pages and the color of the hyperlinks is a style you want to change.
    When you look at the CSS file opened in Text Edit it will have a section that looks like this:
    a {
    color: #453c3c;
    text-decoration: underline;
    a:visited {
    color: #666666;
    text-decoration: underline;
    a:hover {
    color: #000000;
    text-decoration: underline;
    You can change the alpha-numeric values for the regular, hover and visited behaviors of how the color changes for your links.
    Hope that helps!

  • Text Hyperlink changes colors--how to change it?

    When I change colored text into a link, the color of the text changes to a different color. It looks bad on the background color. When I move the pointer over the link, the word color changes to the color I selected. Can I change this or select the color it changes to?

  • Color of Hyperlink Changes When I Convert a Document Created in Pages to a PDF

    I am currently using Pages 09 to design an eBook.  When I convert my Pages document to a PDF some of the hyperlinks change colors from medium to dark blue.  I am currenlty using the latest version of Adobe Reader (9.46).  I have been to Apple store to try and address this issue, but they can not correct it.  If I open the document in Preview or Safari, it works fine.  There is only a problem when I open the document in Adobe Reader.  I would greatly appreciate your help in getting this fixed.  Does anyone know what the problem is here and how to fix it?  Thanks in advance for your help!

    I am currenlty using the latest version of Adobe Reader (9.46).
    The latest version of Adobe Reader is 10.1.1.

  • Hyperlinks don't change color

    Why don't my hyperlinks change color? They all work fine but I can"t seem to get them to do the color change when I roll over them. The hyperlinks remain black . I am using iWeb 06. Do I have to update to iWeb 08?

    Tod ~ Yes, you would have to upgrade to iWeb 2 in iLife '08. Then in Inspector's Link tab, you'll have a Format tab via which you can specify the colors of your hyperlinks. This video tutorial shows that Format tab, although its use is not demonstrated:

  • Help please-Text hyperlink does not change color on Safari?

    I have set up certain links on my page to change color once they have been scrolled over or clicked. After publishing my site this feature is not active on Safari, but works on Firefox. I have visited other sites that have been made on iWeb and seen that this feature is active on Safari, so I know it is possible to create this feature. If there are any suggestions or tricks that would help me I would greatly appreciate it.

    I am having the exact same problem. I cross-posted your submission to jaycheryl's thread after confirming, with my pages, your bottom-line observation that Firefox displays the code correctly.
    The only difference in our situations is that I didn't edit any colors. I'm just using one of iWeb's stock themes. Some of my hyperlinks are OK in Safari and all of the iWeb created hyperlinks, e.g. the <next> and <previous> blog navigation buttons are OK even on new pages.
    p.s. I don't see, or can't link to the "Helpful" answers available: 2 . "Solved" answers available: 1 displayed at the top of the thread?

  • Changing hyperlink text colors.

    I saw few posts asking about changing hyperlink text colors. And there are many camps regarding this topic. Suzanne Boben would recommend editing template XML . Some would recommend editing published HTML code. Some would recommend editing CSS code.
    But it came down to couple things.
    1) proficient in XML, HTML or CSS
    2) tried different colors, but it did turned out as expected
    One easy way is editing CSS files, this only apply to pages' hyperlink text; if your text got turn to PNGs, read no further .
    iWeb generates a CSS file for the associated HTML page - CSS file is in the Page_files folder.
    Edit the CSS files and keep copies of them, then you won't have to edit them again the next time you publish you sites.
    These CSS files are quite easy to understand, all you have to do is to look for a { , a:visited { and a:hover { .
    They contain RGB (Red Green Blue) values for link color, visited link color and rollover color.
    But what about those #8000FF and #4c4c4c?
    Well, I know they are RGB hexadecimal color values, but I don't what colors they are, so I came up with Argiope (Argiope is a family colorful spiders).
    It's a colors picker application to help with choosing background color, link color and rollover color. It'll give you the exact RGB hexadecimal value of chosen color.
    You can find Argiope here. Enjoy

    It can be done, but I have to do too much works.
    I already have a a script to do that, but it's quite complicated for an average bear.
    http://www.geocities.com/[email protected]/iWeb_utils --> LinksColors.zip
    Does just that, it is flexible, you can configure the colors for individual page, but it is quite different to configure. Look at the colors.txt and page.txt.
    If you really want to know more, ping me.

  • Changing hyperlink text color...

    I see how to change hyperlink text colors for a page (normal, rollover, visited, active) but I am hoping for something more complicated- I would like a link to change color on rollover, but stay that color until another link is clicked, then return to its original color. ( I have a swap image applied to five links on a page, clicking on each word displays a different image.) Is there any code I can add that will get a link to remain a rollover color until something else is selected? Thanks in advance!

    CSS menus are much leaner and more efficient than image rollovers.

  • Followed hyperlinks in PowerPoint 07 WON'T change color

    I have created a jeopardy-style game in PPT and the hyperlinks aren't cooperating.  When I click on one of the options, it takes me to the appropriate slide, but when I return to the main slide the link I previously clicked did NOT change color.
    This makes it difficult for users to remember which options have already been used.  I have tried creating custom colors via Themes but that didn't work.  Help!

    I found a work-around for this using custom animation.  First, I setup boxes (for game squares)  in my Jeopardy game as hyperlinks (i.e., entire box/square is a hyperlink).  However, I did not enter any text in the "hyperlink" boxes.
    Instead, I placed a regular textbox in the middle of the hyperlink box.  In the textbox, I typed in my dollar amounts (in white font).  I then setup a custom animation to turn the text in the textbox to blue (the background color of the game board).
    In the "Timing" option for the animation, I setup the Trigger as "On click of" and then selected the "hyperlink" box.
    Now, when any area inside the "hyperlink" box is clicked, it triggers the color change animation.  This gets around the bug that doesn't change visited hyperlinks in PowerPoint.  Hope this helps!

  • How do I keep the visited hyperlinks from changing color?

    I am looking to keep the colors of visited sites, the same as unvisited chosen by the hosting site. For example; when I visit eBay, their hyperlink colors are different depending on location. They are black in the far left, and do not change color when visited. However, the hyperlinks in the center are blue, then change to purple after they are visited. I would like for the hosting site to use their own colors, but not differentiate from the unvisited links to the visited ones.
    I know I can change the color of the visited links to be the same as the non-visited links(FF>Options>Content>Colors>"change"Link Colors), but this is not what I am trying to achieve. When I do that, ALL links are my chosen color, even the links on the far left on the eBay page. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

    Hi raven0, I'm not seeing this issue on Craigslist, although we're probably in different cities.
    Does this occur on other sites as well, such as search engine results? If so, it could indicate that Firefox isn't saving history for those page loads. You could check the Library dialog and see whether the individual pages are listed. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+h
    * History > Show All History
    If there's no history for those page loads, is it possible that the pages are being opened in private windows, or that history has become disabled in some other way?

  • How To Make Shapes Change Colors When Clicking on them. Example Sheet Sales Data.xlsx template with Excel 2013

    My question is related to the Sales Data.xlsx template that comes with Excel 2013
    IN this workbook is a sheet named Sales Data. It has, 3 shapes. One each for each of the tab sheets in the workbook. When I click on the 'Sales Report' shape it selects the sales report tab. When you do this the shape changes color and the 'Sales Data' shape
    also changes color.
    However I'm unable to figure out how the colors are changing.
    I don't see any macros in the workbook/worksheet. Nor do I see any code for worksheet events. I don't see any modules in VBA either. I think what is happening is that there are 2 shapes. When you click on one, the one shape goes to the background and the
    other one comes to the foreground.
    I'm no sure how it's doing that.
    Can someone look at this template, Sales Data.xlsx that comes with Excel and explain how this functionality works?
    Thank You
    Keith Aul
    Keith Aul

    The shapes are exactly as I suspected, each of 3 sheets has 3 'navigation' shapes. The shape with the same name as the sheet has no hyperlink and is coloured differently to indicate it refers to the active sheet. The other two have hyperlinks linked to respective
    sheets. 3x3 shapes, 9 in total, none of them ever change colour!
    It's logical though not necessary to name each shape same as the sheet it links to, but they'd work just as well with their original default names.
    For aesthetics, the shapes that refer to own sheet have a horizontal line on top, actually two shapes as a group.
    If still confused copy each set of 3 shapes to a 4th sheet, or open two new windows so you can see all three sheets at the same time.

  • Some visited links don't change color

    on some of my hyperlinks (that go to other pages in the same
    file) don't change color after they've been visited... example:
    they start out regular "hyperlink" blue... then after visiting they
    should change (e.g., to purple) but they don't.
    I read in the knowledge base that for popups, the color WON'T
    change because of a javascript issue... however, the "non changing"
    links are not always for pop ups... as stated above.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks...

    Thanks, Dimaxum...I've already read this thread, and every other thread about the subject on the internet. I am totally convinced this is a Safari issue because the links have always changed color for me using FireFox...always.
    I'm sure there could be other situations where something else caused this problem and it was apparent on both browsers, but not in my case.
    On my wife's Mac this is not a problem on Safari...it's something in my User folder causing it. For now I've just made FireFox the default browser and I'll keep searching. Or the next time I wipe my hard drive and rebuild everything (I do this every six months or so...old Windows habit that isn't necessary) I'm sure it will work fine then.
    I was at the Apple store yesterday and tried several Macs there...they all worked fine. This is just somethiing on my machine.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Making type change color on rollover: Cant make it work

    Incredibly, I can not figure out how to make hyperlinked text change color on rollover.
    I thought it was a matter of assigning a new CSS rule, but I cant find the dialog box within which to specify a rollover color.
    I cant believe how difficult and obtuse such a super simple and basic function is in Dreamweaver.
    WHAT am I doing wrong?

    CSS Pseudo-classes work best if defined in the following order (LiVHA):
    a:link {color:#FF0000}      /* unvisited  link */
    a:visited {color:#00FF00}  /* visited link */
    a:hover  {color:#FF00FF}   /* mouse over link */
    a:active {color:#0000FF} /* selected  link */

  • URL Change Color on Mouseover?

    I have a flyer created in InDesign 5.5 that includes a URL identified as a hyperlink in InDesign. I exported the document as an interactive PDF and, as expected, when I mouseover the URL the I-bar changes to a hand and a box comes up with the URL in it. Is there a way, either originally in InDesign or subsequently in Acrobat, to make it so that the URL also changes color on mouseover?

    Depends on how its set up. If it's just a link object then no, since such objects do not contain any text of their own and can't be used to change the underlying content of the document.
    The only way this can be done is by using a form field and a MouseEnter and MouseExit script that will alter the font color of that field (and of course a MouseUp script that will launch the link).

  • Change colors, in detail

    I found that selecting a high contrast Theme is the only way to change some details of each of the different colors (Hyperlinks, Disabled text, Selected text, etc.) of a window.  When a high contrast screen is selected, I can search for "change
    color" and select "change the color of your taskbar and window borders" and I'll get to a "Color and Appearance" screen that is not available for any non-high contrast theme.  However, even this added ability to customize the
    screen colors falls far short of complete control.
    My custom Yahoo! page looses the text coloration differences to show stocks that are going up (green) vs. going down (red).  I also seem to have very little control of Outlook coloration.  As I am on my PC for most of every working day, I need
    the ability to provide good contrasting colors on all my window screens.  I am disappointed that Microsoft has not fine tuned this feature by now.  Most everything else about 8.1 I like quite a bit.
    William Fearn

    You're no longer allowed to customize the colors to the extent you used to be able to do so.  Microsoft has reduced our ability to make the desktop easier to use by configuring or "theming" it with something more pleasing than the (IMO)
    fairly broken theme they provide.  I personally find the loss of drop shadows tremendously reduces utility.
    I believe it's a plot by Microsoft Marketing to try to get people to dislike using the desktop so that they can get more support for Metro/Modern.
    It ain't working!
    There are folks who have figured out how to "hack" the OS to enable better theme support, and one who's even re-implemented the Aero Glass effects.  Some of them hang out at
    msfn.org.  These things can be employed to make it easier on the eyes (I've managed some improvement).
    As far as Outlook 2013 / 365 goes...  There's little hope, since even a theme replacement doesn't affect it.  The Office team rolled their own UI, probably to help their Marketing department out.  On the Microsoft forum elsewhere
    is
    a thread with something like 700 responses from people who claim their eyes are bleeding from trying to use the latest version of Office.  Most claim Office 2010 was far better.
    Here's the really disturbing part:  Microsoft isn't releasing stuff by accident.  They're actively making the desktop harder to use - on purpose.  And their marketing is trying to turn it into an "Emperor's New Clothes"
    situation with concepts/terms like "digitally authentic" and "skeuomorphism is bad".
    Yes, it stinks for those of us who work with the desktop day in and day out.  You're not alone.  But you won't find many folks who'll stand up and agree with you, because pragmatism is not
    fashionable.
