Hyperlinks don't jump to a second page
Hello there. Absolute beginner here - DW CS4 on iMac OS10.5.8
I am linking 2 pages via the Properties bar with that folder icon (both pages 'index.html' & 'page1.html' are saved in a site folder, inside a Dreamweaver project folder, inside a folder on my desktop)
With the text tool I select a word on the index page to be the hyperlink and in the Select File window I see that the site called page1.html is selected and the name repeated in the URL bar. 'Relative to the Document' is also selected.

Data Sources / Server(grayed out) / Site Root (nothing happened when I tried to click on this).

and the selected text turns into a hyperlink with that blue underline. In Live View the curser turns into that hand/indexfinger but doesn't jump to another page when clicking.
When I create hyperlinks on a 'long page', using Named Anchors, the links jump to the chosen paragraph further down the page.
I also tried the 'mailto' link: that didn't bring up a pre-addressed email link either. Do hyperlinks need anymore options/selections in order to work? What am I am doing wrong?

Hyperlink does not open new window on the second page
Hi,
I have a report which shows list of products. Every product id has hyperlink to show details. When I click on any hyperlink on the first page, it opens in new window and looks good. But the hyperlink from the second page opens in the same window and overwrites main report.
I am not sh=ure what is happening?
Does anybody come across such problem and have the solution?

This is the way to resolve the issue in BO XI 3.1 SP3 :
Open the existing Crystal Report in the Crystal Reports Designer
Edit the formula which was created in the above step and replace sWindow=New with "target=_blank" as follows:

Save this formula and save the report as well
Log onto the BusinessObjects Server box and modify the web.xml file located in C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\CrystalReports\WEB-INF by adding the following code in it:

5. Save this file
6. Restart the application server (Tomcat)

Saved Pages document as PDF. Now hyperlinks don't work
After saving my newsletter in Pages 09 as a PDF (Print>Compress as PDF) some embedded hyperlinks don't work. Strangely enough, the links to an e-mail DO work, but links to a URL DO NOT. Why is this and what do I do to overcome this problem?
That's a fairly long thread I linked to. Did you get all the way down to this post with a screenshot? I see that others had the same problem you do & it took them a couple of tries to get it working. I would be nice to be able to see what you're doing (or not doing), but we have to make do with words & screenshots.

Menu based-image to jump to a section in a second page
Can you help me in establishing this.
I have just established a menu based-image in flash in the
main html page. Also I do have a second page has details on each
option of the menu of the main page. I am trying to whenever I
click on any option of the menu in the main page; this should take
me to the specific section in the second page describing this
option

stop() to the first frame. place on-stage whatever you want seen
when your flash opens.

put that on a different frame (say a frame labeled option1). you

I have created main page (first play) and second page for the chapters.
On the second page, after selecting any chapters, I want to go back to select another chapter from
the second page, But the dvd takes me back to the main page instead of second page. Can this be

Yes, it can be corrected - what you've done is set the menu call and/or end jump to go to the main menu. This is completely normal, but sometimes you don't want this to happen.
If you are playing a single chapter at a time and want to get back to the chapter menu afterwards then the best thing to do is to create a story and put the single chapter inside that. Point your menu buttons to the story container (not the chapter) and it will play. Stories are a little like tracks in that they can have end jumps and menu calls of their own. Simply click on the story, then use the commands in the property inspector to set up the place to go at the end of playback or if the user presses the menu button.
You would then repeat this for every chapter that you want this to happen for.
The whole track itself then acts as a 'play all' if you need it to - the stories do not interfere with this. You can set a different end jump and menu call for the track. An alternative would be to create a final story and put ALL of your chapters into it, and point your 'Play All' menu button to this story.
Stories can also be thought of as playlists (like in iTunes) where you set up the chapters you want to play back in the order that you want them. I would avoid making these too complex, however as it has a knock on effect on the way the DVD player has to work to make a smooth playback.
The other way to achieve what you want is to use some scripting, but there is no need to do this as it sounds as if stories will do all that you need. -
Table of Contents links and hyperlinks lose accuracy in FP past 5 pages?
I've come up dry searching for any mention of this bug
anywhere.
We've got Word documents that have a table of contents (TOC
created dynamically in word, using the standard "Heading" style
method.) When we convert these to Flashpaper SWFs, about 50% of the
TOC links don't work - they go sort of nearby spots in the
document, but bring you to a spot off by half a page or more. The
links to spots in the first 4-5 pages work ok, but TOC links that
go deeper into the doc - from 5 to 20 pages in - those are off by a
half page to a page. The working TOC links in Word or in PDF
versions of the doc take you directly to the right spot.
The "outline" option in flashpaper also fails - the outline
links past 5 pages or so are innacurate just like the in-document
links.
According the the (scanty) documentation for Flashpaper,
Heading/Outlines, etc. are supposed to work fine and get converted
into the SWF.
I've already tried creating fresh example files, to make sure
it isn't a problem with sloppy Word formatting, extra Headings,
etc. - no dice. I still get TOC and outline links that fail to work
in many cases. They mostly fail for things that jump to spots after
5-6 pages into the doc. But if I convert these same docs to PDFs,
the PDF bookmarks and TOC links and hyperlinks work perfectly.
We've also tried using Hyperlinks in Word to create "pretend"
Table of Contents (not dynamic, but we're desperate), and we find
that those hyperlinks that go past 5 or 6 pages into the 20 page
doc lose their acuracy also - they are a half to a full page off.
We already tried the method of saving the word docs as HTML
then converting to FP(suggested within this board) but that did not
improve things.

- ChrisWe solved our issue. In our case we have Word 2007, but our
client is still on Word 2003 so our Word document was originally
created in Word 2007 and then converted by Word 2007 into the Word
2003 format. It appears that we were having these problems because
we were running Flashpaper on the coverted Word document. A
document converted this way is internally different than a document
created by the Word 2003 application.
To fix the problem we downloaded the Word 2003 application,
created a new Word 2003 document, copy and pasted the contents of
the converted Word document into the document created on Word 2003,
and then ran Flashpaper on the new Word 2003 document. Problem
solved. -
Flowable form not flowing to second page - flowing to top of first page
The content on my Dynamic flowable form flows to the top of my initial, first page, instead of the second page.
I have created a form where the subforms are set to flowed, flow direction is either Top to Bottom or Western Text and the "Allow page breaks within content" boxes are checked. Nothing is set to positioned. In my Pagination tab, my Place is set to "Following Previous" and my After is set to "Continue Filling Parent." I have other forms which were created by other people before I got here that have similar functions, and I've gone in and checked them against this form, and I can't see any differences in the settings. I've created a 2nd master page, thinking the content didn't have anywhere to flow to and maybe that was the problem, but that doesn't help.
I've been playing lightly with Livecycle forms over the last few years and have never had content flow to the top of the same page instead of to a second page. Of course, this is my first time trying to create a form relatively from "scratch," so I'm sure I've done something wrong, but am not sure what. I've attached an imagine of what it looks like at the top of my page after I test to make things expand.
Any thoughts? Thanks!On a flowable form, you don't have a page2 exactly. You keep putting everything on page1 and it automatically flows to the next page and the next page. Getting rid of an extra page requires looking in the hierarchy and delete everything on that page including the subform which you have to delete last. Sometimes it's really stubborn and I don't know enough about subforms to know why that is but maybe someone else will jump in to tell us both. You'll get a warning telling you that you are trying to delete the last subform on the page and just say ok.
Now, if you already have a page 2 and stuff on it, open a blank, control all, then control C and paste all that stuff onto the blank, then delete everything off page2 and then delete page2. Go to the blank and repeat the copy process for everything there and paste it onto page one. It should flow over several pages depending on how many objects you have. Then you can close the blank and get rid of it. It's just an object holder while you get your original documents extra pages deleted.
Like I said, I create a blank form, change the Page1 subform to "Flowed" and then save that as a LiveCycle template called "Flowable Layout" or something like that. Then I look at the form I need to make and decide if it needs to flow or not and use a static template for ones that don't and my flowable template for those that do. Knowing ahead of time that you'll need it to flow saves from laying out the form twice. So I just let it flow from top to bottom and set my pieces of layout into positioned subforms. Then it's also easy to show or hide the subforms as needed. I use alot of buttons (visible screen only) to show hidden subforms that aren't needed until someone selects that section. It's all just great fun...... -
How to link second page to my Homepage? (Help sources do not help.)
After checking my three Help sources (two of which I printed out), this question remains unanswered:
How do I link each page to the other pages? I know that I can access them when working in iWeb by clicking on folder icons in the vertical navigation panel on the left, but I would like to be able to click onto a PAGE itself and acces other pages.
I published to the Internet but can only get my Homepage. I thus cannot view the second page that I am working on. I clicked the box "Make visible" but this doesn't enable me to see (on the Internet) that second page I'm working on, clearly because I don't know how to make a link from the Homepage to that second page.

Lisa hi Thank you for the congrats, and yes, it does feel good to figure things out on my own, but much of my progress I owe to others who have pointed me in the right direction or outright told me the answer. But it feels SO GOOD to discover that I can solve some problems, given a lot of time to think and fiddle.

little blue inspector button gives you the choice of
turning any picture or text into a hyperlink, to go
either to another page within your site, or to an
external link. It took me forever to figure out it
seemed!

So I am not the only one who sits for a long time trying to figure things out! As for the hyperlinks: I guess having the navigational bar at the top of each page is minimally good enough, but I like knowing that I can make any object into a hyperlink.

How do I create a automatic second page with different layout settings?
Hi there,
I want to create a business letter template with a different second page. I already managed to create a different layout on page nr two, but
whenever I write a letter with this template and I reach the end of page one, pages creates a thrid page in between my page nr one and nr two with a mixture of the layout of template page nr two and the footer of page nr one.
I want pages to take my template page nr two (with different header and footer) as second page instead of creating one itself.
If I don't need a second page - because my letter is to short - I should not have to delete a second page. It simply should not be there...

you achieve this with a little trick. Create your letter and set the layout for the first and the second page by inserting a placeholder text. This placeholder text should fill the first page and the top of the second page, so both pages are build in one section. When the entire letter is layouted well, select the placeholder text and than save the letter as a template.
Now every time you open this template, you only have to insert the main text (replace the placeholder text with real content), and the second page disappears until the main text overflows the borders of the first page. Than you will get the second page again with the layout you have created for it.
I hope this will work for you like it works fine for me. -
Is it possible to have a PDF form flow to a second page IF the user needs to type in a lot of information? ( Like a Word Doc would)
An automated second page.There are two approaches.
If you wish to use AcroForm technology, then you would need to write a bunch of JavaScript to enable this. It has been done, but it’s not trivial.
If you wish to use XFA technology, then it can be setup to happen automatically.
Be aware that in both cases, even though both technologies are part of the PDF standard, that the forms will only be usable in this manner in Adobe’s viewers as many others don’t support JavaScript or XFA. -
BDC for FF67 not displaying the line itmes of second page

Hi, I'm making hyperlinks. They work for the main page of the webpage, but when I'm trying to redirect the hyperlink to a "sub page" of the webpage it is still going to the main page. (allthough I'm pasting the complete url address)

what I do is RIGHT CLICK, INTERACTIVE, NEW HYPERLINK, and a window pops up, where I paste the address (images).
Where says URL I paste the complete address that the "sub page" gives me.
Is that correct? (for the main page of the wabepage works correctly)

Popup window opens in the second page - plz help gurus.
Hi All,
I'm calling a transaction through ITS. There is a hyperlink in a report brings up PDF in the popup window. Popup window comes up in the second page of the report after closing in the first page of the report. Popup comes in all the consecutive pages of the report once I click on the hyperlink. This is really frustrating. Pls let me know if i need to do any configuration to avoid this problem.

are you using the SAP GUI for HTML (webgui)? Normally, no hyperlinks are used except on documents inside an HTMLviewer (like in TX TRIP), or when Drag & Relate is activated.
I suppose the link is part of a document that is shown in an HTMLviewer. Though this document does not belong to the ITS or the SAP GUI for HTML it uses ITS's URLs to address a new page or document. But, with this URL the status of the ITS or the application does not change, thus showing the popup over and over.
If you have a tool to trace the HTTP protocol you can check for the URLs that are send on a particular action. I
