I always get Firefox (not responding). Doesn't matter if i clicked on something or am writing to someone. It stops, I look up top and "not responding"
sometimes the screen turns white instead of just stopping.
Did you ever fix this, because I am having the same problem

I'm using windows 7 64 bit system, for past 2 months keep randomly getting firefox not responding. Wait about 10-20 seconds for all tabs to respond.
This is a bad hardware error, Baseband Error. Some have reported getting through this error by Restoring iPhone with the SIM Card removed. Try that. Try restoring with different computer. Search Web some more for other thoughts.

When i try to use firefox i keep getting "Firefox not responding" why
Every time I click on something I get "Firefox not responding" I have uninstalled and reinstalled and it is not going away and it is really getting me aggravated.
I had the same problem, on scouring many forums i read a post about "McAfee Script Scan" and how it could cause conflicts.
I went to "Tools",- "Add-ons" which took me to the Add-ons Manager
Then "Extensions" in the left pane,
I scrolled down until i found "McAfee Script Scan" and removed it,
I then re-started Firefox and couldn't belive the difference, it was like going back to when i had BT infinity installed, like a new pc.
I hope this is of use to other users. -
After downloading the new update to Firefox I cannot get Firefox to respond. The only way I can use Firefox is in Safe Mode.
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== I updated to new version of FirefoxCannot believe NO ONE from Firefox is responding to this issue; particularly since I don't seem to be the only one with the problem!!!!

I keep getting a message on startup saying 'Do you want the application "KodakAiOBonjourAgent .app" to accept incoming network connections?' It says settings may be changed in the Firewall pane of Security but I don't see how. Doesn't matter what I click (Deny/Submit). The message still pops up on starup. I have a Kodak printer and am running Mavericks but I don't think it started when I upgraded.
Just fixed this on my machine, the easiest way to remove this pop-up assuming you are no longer needing that software to print is the following:
Open Finder
Go > Go To Folder...
Type In: "~/Library/Application Support"
Delete All Folders Named Kodak
Open System Preferences
Go to "Security & Privacy"
Click the lock and enter your admin password
Click the Firewall Tab
Go to "Firewall Options..."
Find KodakAiO
Right-click KodakAiOBonjourAgent or equivalent (I forget the exact name)
Click "Show in Finder"
Go Back to a folder and delete the Kodak Folder there.
Remove Kodak from Firewall Options by selecting it and clicking the " - " button the base of the list.
or
Open Finder
Go > Go To Folder...
Type In: "~/Library/Printers"
Delete All Folders Named Kodak
I'm going off memory, so If I forgot something let me know. -
I keep getting "Firefox Not Responding". It is getting really old!!
I am getting really tired of getting a "Firefox Not Responding" while on the internet. I tried resetting Firefox AND Uninstalling and Re-installing. All those did was lose all my favorites for me. It still doesn't respond well.
After a Reset, Firefox should have created a folder on your desktop named Old Firefox Data. You should be able to recover your bookmarks from there once Firefox is running a little better.
To rule out Flash as a potential culprit, could you try one or both of the following:
(1) Disable the Protected Mode feature of the Flash Player plugin.
The following pages provide different ways to do that:
* Adobe support article under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]
* Manual steps: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/968190?page=5#answer-509209
* Batch file to automate the manual steps: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/982093#answer-518078
Flash needs to completely unload from memory (restarting Firefox might help) before this would take effect.
(2) Set Flash to Click-to-Play ("Ask to Activate").
This will delay Flash from starting on a page until you approve it, which will help distinguish Flash-generated issues from page load and layout issues.
To set "Ask to Activate", open the Add-ons page using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. Look for "Shockwave Flash" and change "Always Activate" to "Ask to Activate".
When you visit a site that wants to use the Flash, you should see a notification icon in the address bar and one of the following: a link in a black rectangle in the page or an infobar sliding down between the toolbar area and the page.

If a bookmark is selected the site runs fine .
If i clicki on a searched file all i get is not responding.
Never had this problem before i upgraded to 4.0Yes buddy, i have turned on the feature on every machine i have installed Firefox on. And every machine is in perfect healthy condition with 0 malware (for sure). And one more thing all machines have windows 7 installed on them. If what you are saying is true then there might be a conflict issue of Firefox with windows 7 which apparently Firefox guys might not be aware of. Its a pity that such a great software has small small bugs that these guys are not aware of and rectify.
No offense, but its kind of weird when you come to think of it: 5 alpha phases, 12 beta phases, and god knows how many RC phases to follow prior to the release of Firefox 4. This shows that the software has so many bugs. They could have thoroughly tested the product before going into the beta phase. People are being used as testers and not their professionals who have made the product. This shows that the product has been made by them with random thoughts in mind or CASUALLY to put it straight.
No offense but it seems that the team might be consisting of some casual or easy going or hippie engineers. Hence the long wait and small small unseen problems. -
When trying to open firefox I always get "server not found".
After downloading Firefox I cannot get it to connect to the internet. I always get the message "server not found." I have tried all the "fixes" suggested online but without any luck. This is a new download and I have not used Firefox before now.
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

My internet connection is good, so why is Firefox not responding?
This problem can be caused by pages that use Flash media. Here is some standard guidance that addresses the most common reasons for Flash problems in Firefox. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
(1) If you have installed any recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media, make sure they are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them.
(2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
(A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
(B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
(3) Disable protected mode
See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?] -
How can i get firefox not to open up when i click on a WMV?
i downloaded windows media player 11 and now when trying to watch a WMV saved in my documents instead of my media player opening up i go into firefox and multiple tabs open up very fast instead of my media player opening? i can watch other types of videos like MPEG and firefox doesn't open! but when tying to watch a WMV i just get firefox?
What I'd like to be able to do is:
Use "Show my windows and tabs from last time" ("Don't load tabs until selected" checked). If I close and open Firefox all my tabs are there. Once in a wile I know that I had, lets say, 20 tabs open when Firefox was closed BUT I want to open it without all those tabs... just home page or blank page. I was wandering if there a key I could press during start up to prevent Firefox from opening all saved tabs (like "shift" for Safe mode). -
Firefox doesn't open when I click on it. I have to click on New Window under File to get my bookmarks and a search page
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== No way to know. Nothing new has been done to Firefox. If you close Firefox, then start Firefox in Safe Mode, does the problem still occur? For instructions on starting in Safe Mode, see [[Safe Mode]].
BTW, you really should upgrade to the latest version. See [[Updating Firefox]] -

Out of nowhere my keyboard locked, trackpad didn't work and start up chime stopped working. Then, I got drop down menus when I tried to click on something, and now my computer is working fine. In a while it will happen all over again. How can the keyboard work fine and then stop? Then be fine again. I am not technically inclined, so please help. I have a MacBook Air. Thanks

I do almost all my work from a standard user account. Firefox neither automatically updates (as I set it to) or informs me an update is available.
How do I get Firefox to update automatically when I am logged on as a standard user....or at least tell me to switch to admin account and update?Let me add a note to the developers: WE ARE ALL NOT ADMINISTRATORS!
Even on our own personal computers.
I claim that administrator accounts are for administering, or developing; not using. I wouldn't be an administrator for longer than is necessary than walk down the centre of a highway with my eyes closed.
I'll repeat: Mozilla really should prevent the 'Update' button showing to an ordinary user if it's not going to be possible to use it. -
In my emails, how can I get Firefox to open links that begin with the word "click."? Instead of giving the me the message that says, for example, "Firefox can't find the server at click.americas.links.hp.com." This also happens when I try to open the links using Explorer.
This link was not valid when I clicked it. Please contact the person sending these links they do not seem to work. The page takes me to a page that says it will load after 5 seconds, however there is not valid link.
