The reps at that time deflected the easiest course of action, by trying to get you to replace the phone under insurance instead of returning the phone. The Early Edge payment option requires the current phone on the line using the early Edge must be returned to Verizon Wireless. Did you once considered going to a third party site like Swappa to purchase a gently used device for your daughter?

Safari history does not transfer when you sync your iPhone to your Mac. Bookmarks will if they're set to do so, but not the browser history. If you want to be certain your fiancé can't see it even if s/he picks up your iPhone, just go to the Safari settings and clear the history and cookies.
Of course you'll want to make sure that the store you order from doesn't send a confirmation or shipment email to an account that your fiancé can access, and that they don't call a phone number s/he can answer to thank you for your order, as one company stupidly did when I ordered a suprise gift for my SO.

I know it's not my internet connection or router, because like I said, Firefox never has any problems. The iPad 2 is available in Thailand now, though I don't know whether you can find one it stock. The iPad 2 continues to be in short supply everywhere in the world. A US iPad with GSM 3G should be able to work with any carrier worldwide that offers GSM service and a suitable data plan. You'll need to be sure you purchase the AT&T version of the iPad if you purchase in the US, NOT the Verizon version which uses a different cell technology.
This has been asked and answered in these forums multiple times already, by the way. A quick search or browse of the forums and you would not have had to wait for a response.

Mac, PC, Internet connections, etc... I may be in the wrong place...

Does anyone have an awful time maintaining their internet connection? Please direct me to another forum if there is one on this topic. My settings with Verizon, my ISP, are to the letter.
I need to run Network Diagnostics 6-8 times an hour (sometimes more) in order to reestablish my internet connection. This never happened when I was using a Windows based product.
I thought that it might be the fact that I have a Mac and my husband has a PC, and that maybe there was some peculiar compatibility thing happening, but unfortunately it happens when he is not even here. I'm not eager to call a "geek squad" because I've hear they've done more harm than good.
Has anyone else experienced this? The Genius Bar guy couldn't help me, and my settings with Verizon are what is expected.

The router (if you have one) is the box connected to the modem, which is connected to the internet line-in.
This is the basic setup: Internet connection (like a cable line) -> Modem -> Router -> Computer
If it's only going to one computer, though, you may have something like this: Internet Connection -> Modem -> Computer.
Your problem is almost certainly hardware. Make sure all cords are plugged in (or screwed in, as the case may be) tightly and securely. Check to see if any of them look frayed or blackened at all (which would indicate they aren't working properly). Also, try resetting the connection by unplugging modem (and router if applicable).
The modem will be directly connected to your internet connection. The router will be connected to the modem. The router most likely also has things connected to it (computers, wireless base, or both) unless it is a wireless router.
It's hard to diagnose without being able to see it, but it sounds like a hardware issue.

Isolating the laptop from the internet is the issue.

Please be aware of the movie rental's time limitation that you have 30 days from the time of rental to watch your movie, and once you start watching it, you have 24 hours to finish watching it. You may watch it as many times as you like during those 24 hours. It may be helpful to make sure the download completes successfully before you begin watching the movie.
Once the download is complete you can watch it without an Internet connection. However, an Internet connection to the iTunes Store is required to authorize playback or activate the 24 hours time-limit of movie rentals. This means, only during the starting of the movie. Once you have started playing the movie rental, internet connection is not required. You can play anywhere without internet connection.
You may need to validate the rental prior to watching so it starts the rental period timer and for that you will need an internet connection. You can probably do that by starting the rented movie while on the Airport Wifi or right before leaving home. You'll have 24 hours to watch the movie after you start it.
