I am having difficulty setting up my email account on my iPad mini

I have been attempting to set up my email account with Bigpond but every time I attempt to save the setting I receive an error message that either my userid or password is incorrect. I know that I have entered it correctly.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Absolute disgrace, don't message me about Apps and how I should log in to my account for offers when I can't do any of that. I would advise anyone new to EE here to cancel your account within the 14 day grace period, you'll have neverending issues from fake data charges, extortionate roaming costs, somehow paying for data when on Wifi and much more.

I just upgraded my BC account and forwarded my domain from the registrar (in my case: Network Solutions). So, now I'm in the process of setting up my email account in BC so that everything works and I'm getting this message:
Error
Account details for this user can only be updated via the site where it was first created.
I don't understand this. Don't I need to set up my email with the hosting company (which is now BC)?

I can access my email account but can't set up my husbands. Can I have 2 email accounts on one ipad? We want to go on vacation and not take his laptop. He doesn't have a mac, uses Outlook and, i believe, his messages go straight to his computer. We have the ipad 2.

It could be a case of first come, first served! Outlook may need configuration to leav a copy of emails on his laptop fo a sufficient period do that all devices can pick up a copy. See here here -

Hello,
I bought a Passport yesterday and am having one major issue. I have 3 email accounts through Yahoo and 2 of them addeded with no problem at all. However, one (my main one, of course) transferred briefly, then disappeared and now when I try to add it I get the message "Accounts. At this time your email and contacts accounts can't be added. Please try again later."
I've tried...and tried...and TRIED. Nothing changes. Any suggestions?

Don't assume your experience is the rule.
I have been using Yahoo two-factor authentication on Z10 and on Passport with no issue. Now Z10 being used by wife with her Yahoo email and with two-factor authentication, and again no trouble.
To add, I would not advise going backward to a less secure method. Simple username and password authentication is not advisable nowadays

You do have the incoming mail server setting under Host Name as mail.comcast.net .... And your user name and password are correct?
Rather than try to adjust any settings and get deeper into a hole - why don't you delete the account and just start over again. Many times that's the best thing to do.
I would delete the account, restart the iPad and then add the account again.

I am trying to re-set up my email account on my ipad (1st generation) but am having problems. The mail server is a private one associated with my domain name and it has worked before on this ipad and is currently working on a Nexus 7 tablet.

The setup on the Nexus tablet asks for port numbers for both incoming and outgoing mail, but the email setup on the ipad does not ask for port numbers. Am I supposed to be inputting the port numbers by inserting them after a colon followed by the port numbers in both the incoming and outgoing mail server fields or is there something else I am doing wrong?

IPhone - having trouble setting up bellsouth email account

My sister just bought the new iPhone 3gs and we can't seem to set up her e-mail account on it. I have the "old" iPhone 3g and have the same email settings as she does (bellsouth.net) and was able to set it up prior to upgrading to the new 3.0 software. I am not sure if that would be an issue. We have followed the directions (fill in her name, e-mail address, password, press save and then it stays on that screen forever) and nothing happens.
Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions?

iTunes will have a radio button or something like it on the PC version. Look under the Info tab with the phone selected in iTunes. Go to the mail accounts and select the account. If that doesn't work, log onto Bell South and look up email settings. I use a Mac too. There is a note, FYI, that states to add accounts, do it on the iPhone...... I'm hoping the account is already there for you. Good luck.
