You may have to contact your email provider or ISP, though you may be able to set up the email account to be used via the portable device you could carry with you in your travels, but access may vary, depending on the data plan you have, if cellular based; if not try a web-mail based account such as gmail and see if your other mail can be forwarded so you can check it via browser online.
I'm sure there are some options, ones I'd probably not consider. You may find that if your iPad and Mac desktop share an account or sync, email would still be in the Mac's account once it gets back online to the email server.
Some variables likely exist, so beyond this, I won't speculate further.

you cannot use your pc license to install on a mac. you would need a separate license (and serial number) for that.
adobe allows platform swaps, but only with the latest (xi) version, Order product | Platform, language swap
your option to use acrobat on a mac are to upgrade to acrobat pro xi and change platforms, use a windows emulator (parallels/boot camp etc) on your mac or swap with a third party.

I'm having the same issue and would like to get some help. I set up a second Apple TV in our bedroom and wanted to be able to control it using my iPhone like I do with the Apple TV in the living room. Basically you will have to transfer its contents to the new computer and then restore the iPod and then resync. An iPod can only sync to one iTunes library.

Startup holding the Option key and select the Mac OS X Install DVD in the Startup Manager.
Once your started up from the Install DVD, navigate to Disk Utility on the menu bar.
Select the first icon for Internal HD in the list and click the Partition tab.
Reset the Partition which will Erase everything from the Drive.
Install 10.6 and update with the 10.6.8 Combo Update.

I bought a tv series and would like to back them up on CD's but I need to change them to MPEG4 to get them to be read by my PS3 or DVD player. They are showing as m4v's right now.

I am looking to find out how to back up a tv series to cd's off of itunes. I back up my songs onto cd's and would like to do the same with my tv series. The problem I am encountering is that I need them as mpeg's . right now they are m4v's. They aren't compatible that way when they save.

Video files purchased from the iTunes store are meant to be played with iTunes. You can't convert "protected" content. A quick web search should find free transcoders for non-protected content, but if you are "backing up" all you need to do is copy the files to somewhere they could be restored from. Your past purchases are not on the computer. By choosing download all, those purchases will download to the computer.
Once authorized to your iTunes account you can control the computer.
When syncing the iPad the first time you will get the warning " this iPad is synced with another computer, syncing will erase all contents and replace with the contents of this computer"

If you want to reformat your machine and re-install all your apps and then restore from an earlier version of Time Machine you can. However if I were you I'd update the apps.

iPhoto is not a Photo Viewer. It's a Photo Manager and designed for looking after the files while you organise the Photos. It really works much better if you let it manage those files. If you use iPhoto you never go near those files because iPhoto is your start point for anything you want to do with your Photos - the point of the pplication.
You can run iPhoto in Referenced mode, where it does not copy the files to the Library, but I caution you that you are making life a lot more difficult for yourself by doing that.

How do i get a separate itunes account for my wife?

On the old iPad go to settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings and that will totally erase the iPad. You can set it up as a new device and use your Apple ID in Settings>Store>Apple ID - or Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID.
Your wife can create a new Apple ID here.
