You would need to call your mobile carrier and inquire about their policies and ability for "tethering."
Hope this helps

I'm thinking of buying an iPad. Can I use my home's wifi or do I need to get a plan for it?
Another thing to note is that if your cell plan/carrier supports it (it's free with Verizon Shared plans), you can also use your mobile phone as a mobile hotspot (Personal Hotspot on iOS devices) and use your phone's data to access the internet on the iPad. I purchased an iPad 3 with Verizon 3G/4G cellular built-in but have never activated it. I instead use Personal Hotspot with my Verizon Wireless cellular (phone) plan. If you go this route, you can save money over purchasing a Wi-Fi/Cellular iPad and just choose the Wi-Fi model. But also realize that if you choose to at some point to use the iPad when you're away from Wi-Fi, you won't have the built-in cellular capability that a Wi-Fi/Cellular iPad would have.

Can I buy an iPad which can be used as a Mobile Hotspot and used to make Phone Calls?
Can I use the new iPad as a phone and a mobile hotspot?
Yes, it can be used as a mobile hotspot if your carrier supports it. iPads can only make calls using Voice Over IP apps such as Skype or FaceTime.

I'm looking at buying an IPad and was wondering if it has the capacity to replace a video camera. I'm looking at the 128GB version and I know there are many variables. But I'm thinking that it should hold at least 60 mintues of video before needing it to be downloaded. Thoughts?
If you want to record good video, get a camera.
iPads can record video but they lack almost all other useful features of a dedicated camera - eg a decent lens, the ability to zoom, reasonable audio, removable media, small form factor .... and on and on.

It might be less hassle to buy a new printer.

printing to a non-airprinter from an iPad
To print from the iPad, your going to have to install some more software:
-- install a printer app on the ipad. many printer makers have iPad applications for their printers. Look in the app store
-- install enabling software on a computer which you have connected the printer

hi there
im looking to buy an ipad- we use SIMS at school and i need to be able to log into it. I can via a virtual desktop via the college wireless netork. I also have work on the network. What would be the best IPAD to buy?You have the choice of a full size iPad or the iPad Mini...both come as either WiFi only or WiFi+cellular data service. With the cellular data model you can see if there is a SIM available that is appropriate. Either model is capable of attaching to a wireless network to give you access. Neither is capable of a wired connection, must be wireless.
So, the question is which size is the best for your personal use, and do you want cellular data access - great thing to have. Then the decision is which storage capacity do you want...keep in mind that the iPad is not upgradable after purchase so get the storage you really want to start out. -
I have 2 macs, 2 iPhones and am looking to buy an iPad. If I buy an app like pages or angry birds from the app store, can I install it on all of them? Is that legal to authorize all of those devices, I think I get up to 5, so that it would work?
ThanksYou can buy and install on all your IOS devices, and separately buy and install on all OSX devices, so 2 purchases.

Have new iPhone 5s and older iPad ( looking to buy new iPad ) question for both is should I hook them up to y computer and back up the computer on each devise and sink and than the next one. The second question is should I do the I pad first cause it has photos in my email that have not been downloaded and it is one of or is the first model
No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that. -
I'm looking to buy and iPod shuffle, can I transfer the music from my iPad? I do not have a computer, only iPad 4 generation Thanks
iPods (except for iPod touch) require a computer (Mac or PC) running iTunes to sync content.

Wife has a Kindle, Kid is buying an ipad. Can I transfer songs and pictures from amazon cloud over to icloud?
Yes, and there are a couple ways to do this, and it may depend on what kind of songs you are talking about.
If you purchased songs from Amazon's ecosystem, and it is stored in their cloud, you can do the following:
1) Download their app.
The app is called Amazon Cloud Player. The link is here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/amazon-cloud-player/id510855668?mt=8
2) Download the songs from their cloud, to your computer and then sync with iTunes
This is the method I use, and all the music is then stored in the Music app, already on the iOS device. The upside to this method would be that all the other applications you have can access these songs too, such as apps for an alarm clock.
3) Upload pictures and songs to Dropbox
This way all the content is stored in the cloud, and can be accessed anywhere and anytime.
For the pictures, you're most likely going to have to sync with iTunes to do that, or you can put them in Dropbox. -

I plan to purchase a Mac mini and then a new iPad. Can I use the iPad as a keyboard and screen for the Mac mini, using either the USB connector or Wi-Fi?
I'm sorry, I should have said thru Bluetooth, not Wi-Fi. I want to use the mini as a base station and the iPad like a laptop that I can sync when I'm home and carry with me when I travel. Is is possible to hook these 2 up - iPad/mini, through Bluetooth? I understand I need to use a regular monitor/keyboard/mouse on the initial install.

I currently have a D-Link DI-604 broadband router with windows computers. How can I add wifi to the network for use with ipad? Can I use AirPort Express?
Yes. You can directly connect an 802.11n AirPort Express Base Station (AXn) using an Ethernet cable. The AXn would then just need to be configured as a bridge to allow the D-Link to continue to provide both NAT & DHCP services for all network clients connected to either router.
In this configuration, the AXn would broadcast a wireless network for your wireless network clients to connect to. -
