I am looking for a LabView programmer to volunteer time for an endangered species project.
I need to produce an analog signal that mimics the click of an endangered porpoise. We are developing a method of acoustically monitoring vaquita in the Gulf of California using their echo-location clicks. We need to produce simulated clicks to test this equipment. We have both M-series (USB-6251) and E-series (DAQCard-6062E) A/D/A equipment as well as the amps and transducers to output the signals. We have a synthesized porpoise click available in a WAV file (133 kHz, 100 uSec). We are lacking the software to output the analog signals. Is there anyone out there who could write stand-alone software to read a WAV file and output it to one of our NI devices (we don't own LabView or have any expertise with it)?
This application should be able to output 2 channels of the wav file to AO0 and AO1 of at least the USB-6251 device.
It requires that you install:
1. The DAQmx drivers;
2. The LabVIEW 8.5 (or 8.5.1) runtime engine.
I have included everything (source) necessary for people to add to the code.
Executable can be found in Builds/EXE.
Regards,
André

Newbie looking for maven-based web projects
I'm looking looking for maven-based web projects so I could learn how to orginize and configure code and configuration files respectively. Thx in advance.
Tones of good material exists at the Maven2 site:
http://maven.apache.org/
Another very good place where to find information:
http://www.sonatype.com/book/
To search for free jars (very useful)
http://www.mvnrepository.com/search.html
It is kind of difficult to start, but it worth the effort.
I cannot imagine to start a project without Maven + Continuum -
I'm the author of libpsd, and I'm looking for Photoshop CS3 specs.
Libpsd is the Photoshop file format decode library in C language with full source code. My name is Patrick. I spent half a year to implement libpsd. I finished most of the features under Photoshop CS specs. So, I'm looking for the up-to-date specs. Who can give it to me? My email is [email protected] Thanks.
In my view it would be wise to remove it from your site. This would be
true for any material for which no specific permission is granted to
redistribute. Copyright is automatic, and applies equally whether
things are paid for or free, unless specifically given away.

Anyone looking for a quick paid project (Read on for Details)
I am a noob to iPhone programming, and am having a hard time making some changes to the TableSearch sample code that Apple provides.
Here is what I am looking for. If anyone is interested in taking up the project, please let me know
1) On launch, I would like the tableview to populate itself from the contents of a file at a web URL.
2) When the user selects an item from the list, the program should open a URL associated with that item (the URLs and items would both be loaded from the file mentioned in #1.)
I am flexible on how the source file is formatted. .CSV would be fine.
This is for a free program I am trying to pull together, so my budget isn't big. Nonetheless, it would save me a bunch of time, so I am happy to pay someone to help out.
Any advice or offers to help would be appreciated.
--Mike( I am on a Seismic roll...)
If you look at the Seismic sample app:
http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/samplecode/SeismicXML/index.html
I think you will find a great starting place- it practically does what you are talking about here right out of the box. -

Looking for Detailed wifi specs on iPad2 vs 1
Just read a report form Gartner on the WiFi coverage to accommodate a large scale iPad deployment in the enterprise. They are recommending 300% the radio/AP coverage vs a laptop deployment.
This is primarily based on the fact that iPad 1 is single stream (1x1)802.11n, and that the WiFi adapter in the ipad is rated at 10mw (10dbm). Whereas a typical laptop 802.11 a/b/g/n is close to 30mw(dbm).
I was curious if there is a difference in the IPAD 1 and 2 wifi adapters, and what the detailed specs are? I have had a hard time locating this information.
Link to Gartner report.

How can I set up a smart album that looks for keywords?
Hi everyone,
I'm in the middle of a rethink on my image management and am wanting to setup smart albums that will search for and display images that have a certain keyword. When I create a new smart album to do this, I'm only given the ability to choose to search for rating and calendar criteria; the keywords and import session options are greyed out. My images have keywords assigned, so where do I go from here?
Thanks,
AndrewOK, a step forward. It seems that if I create a smart album it will only look for keywords in the project that it is contained in.
Perhaps someone can help me then: I keep a collection of albums for each person that is featured in a photograph. These albums are stored outside of the projects that the images are stored in so I can have a collection of images that show person X from all the different shoots.
What I want to do now is keyword each image with the person's name (as a keyword) and then have a Smart album that will pick out all of their photos from my entire library, not just a certain project. How can I do this? -
Looking for a Suggestion on Protege Notebook Model
Hi,
I might have posted this in the wrong forum, if that is the case then please accept my apologies for the same.
I am looking to buy a new ultrabook. I am looking for the following specs:
Price: Around USD800
Screen Size: 13.3" (This is important as there are weight considerations and hence cannot go for any bigger screen)
Screen should be easily tilted to 180 degrees since I have a small kid who could pull the screen back (I hope you people understand what I am asking for, this feature is not listed in any datasheet of Toshiba Notebooks)
RAM Installed: 4GB (min)
RAM Maximum: 8GB (min) (I should have the option for upgrading the RAM later to 8GB minimum, more the better)
Weight: 3 lbs (or there about)
DVD-ROM: Not NEEDED
HDD: Would like to have a SSD with 256GB but given the price, I guess I have to settle with the normal HDD. But it would be great if I could upgrade later this HDD to a SSD.
Keyboard: Backlit and SPILLPROOF
Now I have kind of short listed some of the models and would love to hear the advise of the techies here.
Model 1:
Portege R935-ST3N02
Link for Datasheet: http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/product/pdf_files/detailed_specs/portege_R935-ST3N02.pdf
Questions in my mind regarding this notebook:
Will the screen be tilted back to 180 degrees, cannot find this information anywhere.
The maximum RAM shown is 8GB but since this device has 2 memory slots, then wouldn't it be possible to have 16GB as the max RAM with 8GB card in each slot.
HDD = 750GB but later would I be able to upgrade to a SSD Harddisk or not, to reduce the weight even more later.
Keyboard: Is the keyboard SPILLPROOF and Backlit?
Model 2:
Portege Z935-ST3N02
Link for Datasheet: http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/product/pdf_files/detailed_specs/portege_Z935-ST3N02.pdf
Max RAM is only 6GB (is there a way to upgrade to 8GB)
SSD: Can I later upgrade to a higher capacity SSD like 512GB if an when they get cheaper, I know it should be possible but wanted to ask anyhow?
Model 3:
I am comparing these 2 models against THINKPAD X230.
Any suggestions and enlightening thoughts on my above questions would be deeply appreciated. Please just let me know if the screen can be tilted to 180 degrees in Portege R935-ST3N02

[email protected]It sounds like you have solid experience. Have you considered contract work? The job market kinda sucks right now. Check out net-temps.com and jobcircle.com. Presently I work through a contract house called YOH Scientific, yohscientific.com in Newark, DE. I'm sure they could find you work but they'll skim a lot off the top. I worked with optical comm when I lived in Mass. Too bad it took a dive. I still see a lot of opportunities for RF comm in southern New Jersey. They usually want LabWindows/CVI. Since you know c/c++, LW/cvi would be a cake walk for you.
Parts of California are also looking hot. I just got this from my net-temps search agent:
